  1. https://www.moto.it/news/nico-cereghini-il-museo-guzzi-sara-bellissimo.htmlTranslation by Google:Nico Cereghini: "Will the Guzzi museum be beautiful?"November 2, 2020 - The Piaggio Group Board of Directors approved theredevelopment project of the Moto Guzzi museum and the entire productionarea of Mandello. It will be a famous archistar to take care of it.Even if there is no other news for now, fans rejoiceHello everyone! At the end of September, when I anticipated that MotoGuzzi's 100th birthday would be celebrated in 2021 (read the article),many of you raised the theme of the Mandello museum. It is tooneglected, several comments criticized, "it's a shame!" some directlyaccused. Well, I want to give you some good news: even the president andtop management of the Piaggio Group realize that the museum is not up topar. And now the board of directors has approved the redevelopment project. There are no precise figures or times, but the resolution is a fact: itwas decided that the works will begin next year and will cover theentire area of the Mandello Lario plant, from production to theoffices and halls of the museum. It is also known that the project wasentrusted to Greg Lynn, American architect and designer, member of theUnited States Artists, awarded the Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale in2008 and many other international awards; and who is also CEO of PiaggioFast Forward, the team of innovators “which aims to build lightweightmobility platforms that offer innovative solutions for the movement ofpeople and goods”. In short, a beautiful head already involved in the group. What matters is that, although times are not exactly ideal, those whohave the fate of Guzzi in their hands seem determined to invest millionsof euros in the prestige of the brand. Even the mayor of MandelloRiccardo Fasoli, on the pages of Corriere della Sera, is delighted withthe good news, rumors have been circulating for months and theratification of the board of directors is the expected turning point. For Mandello it is a panacea, the museum has always attracted Italianand foreign enthusiasts, but above all we understand that such aninvestment means that the company will remain here, on the lake where itwas born a century ago and where the history of motorcycles was made.I believe, and I am certainly not the only one, that no museum in theworld could come close to that of the Moto Guzzi, once it has beenrethought and recreated. There are other even older houses - Gilera isfrom 1919, the first Harley is even from 1903 - but the eagle house hasan absolutely unique history. It is enough to mention a symbol such asthe famous wind tunnel: here in Mandello technical innovation andcreativity have been breathed, the most extraordinary successes ininternational races have been built before world-wide. Men of enormoustalent met on the shore of the Lario, names like Omobono Tenni, BrunoRuffo or Giulio Cesare Carcano with his incredible Otto cylinders: noother brand has reached this high.I don't know this Greg Lynn, one of the ten most influential architectsin the world for Forbes magazine. But I already envy him. If he has abit of passion for motorcycles, imagining and designing the Moto Guzzimuseum will be a magnificent adventure for him. --

  5. I'm updating this old thread because I've been trying to pry up that chrome cap for hours. Turns out the grey plastic center is the cap/plug which covers the hex drove hole in the chrome nut. So simple once you've seen the center cap removed :)

  6. Aspen is a swedish fuel company specializing in cleaner fuel for forestry. I run my 1983 Yamaha XT 400 on alkylate petrol (Aspen 4) It took a couple of oil and filter changes the first 10000km, but it cleaned out all gunk in my engine. I would only use it in an older carb bike with new seals though, since it most likely would void your warranty on a new bike(ask your manufacturer). The thing is, you can't go back and forth between it and regular fuel unless you want to seize your engine. I pay around £1.50 per liter when buying 200 liter drums (in sweden), but since it burns cleaner and wastes less fuel i end up paying about the same as regular petrol(with a bit more effort though). But in return I pass the MOT emissions tests with flying colours, barely any smell when riding or in the garage, long storage capacity (left it for 3 years in cold storage and it started instantly)

  8. Well not today ( Saturday ) but yesterday. I was going to post yesterday but got sidetracked! Anyways been locked up at home during the lockdown for weeks then work decided I should work from home.So the 5 week holiday ( ?) came to an end.Quick trip into the office to get the laptop/phone etc not Friday but the previous one.Well I forgot a particular file that I need so email to the CFO to get a Travel permit, Yep!To go back to the office and get it. So yesterday I did a couple of hours work at home and got togged up for the ride into the office.Nice enough morning, bloody unreal to be on the bike again after 3 weeks I can tell ya.Got to the office and got the file.Head for home. The weather has gotten even better so decide to take the GOOD way home and enjoy some twistys. All is good until I come off the highway just before the roadblock. The cops pull me over as think I'm trying to escape the Metropolitan stage 4 lockdown.Fair enough too. Both the cops were super friendly and we had a good chat.Afterwards they waved me off before giving me the lowdown on roadworks on the road about to travel. This was on one side of the wee town of Lang Lang.I got stuck behind a 4wd and truck so overtook them.Unbeknownst to me the highway patrol saw the whole thing( on the other side of Lang Lang ) and in hindsight probably thought eye eye heres someone trying to escape the ring of steel ( Vic govt term for the border around Melb metro and regional Victoria ) and gave chase!Saw the blue flashing lights and thought SHIT here we go, how much is this gonna cost and how many points?Anyways they did the checks, same again never had to show my papers ( sounds like something out of a second world war escape attempt doesn't it!) as they asked a few questions and they could tell by number plate recognition that I was legit.A quick breath test and they too waved me on my way.Same again bloody good cops! Well a little jittery after my close encounter with the long arm of the law but no fines/loss of points, I set off home. The suns out, the wind has dropped right off, the roadworks the original cops told me about were on the other side but I did look out for the crap on the road advised about and had a GREAT RIDE HOME! The ole bugger run and handled fantastic and the 32 kilometres was just the mental therapy needed. Well got home and scoffed some lunch and did another couple of hours at work then turned the laptop off and joined my wife on the balcony for a glass of shiraz! A bloody eventful but great day! Cheers Guzzler.

  9. Nicely done, KINDOY! What a perfect "adapter." My posts are probably more about the power connection to remove my mount cleanly. I'm looking for the power lead on the 595LM mount to be about 9"/23cm: Drilled and tapped the RAM "post&ball" for a flat head M4x.7 screw (that came out of the 550 mount), sized the screw to stand off just enough to slide the female connector on securely.

  10. Dear me and for goodness sake. I don't mean to be disrespectful, but at this point in our well developed knowledge base and reliable testing of these simple units, why would anyone choose to run cheap Chinese relays? Or even good relays that are under rated for the actual loads? Nothing against pyrodan. He's a good guy. Yet, there is no one in the world that has compiled more data and experience on V11 relays than the members of this forum. For those with the inclination, the rationale is all detailed in this thread with links to other testing. The High Current OMRON GH8E are, what, about $25US for all five?
