  1. My opinion is listen to what the experienced members here in this 20 year old V-11 forum tell you,, not what I see people on "Facebook are telling you..The motor should NOT have to come out imo...contrary to what Facebook people tell you, you don't need to do that to pull the transmission..find a place where you can support the bike from above with a "come along" or similar and a scissors table lift underneath, I have been thru this..Just Listen to what Pete, Scud, docc and other experienced members tell you..they are the experts on this bike ..take your time..and "crab" the frame..You can do this. You will feel very satisfied when done and know your bike so much better.
  2. Search and read up on docc's "Decent Tune-up" and perform that just as described and you will find yourself with a whole new motorcycle..not only at 5,000!..When done correctly its amazing ..imho
  3. Will it start in gear? start in neutral? Start with clutch pulled in ?
  4. What happens when you pull in the clutch? Any thing?
  5. In my opinion THIS is the best bet out there and at not such a terrible price if you really want one. considering is it has all the bits you need to mount it except the 2 hose clamps ..which you can get anywhere..the mounting bracket, rubber bushings and proper inserts, stainless nuts etc..all are not so easy to find.. https://www.ebay.com/itm/354444595918?hash=item52868b52ce:g:6RYAAOSwjNJjld1A&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAsHvewL77P4baGc71WNa4DCsyJUeuYaBURmdZpUIlhjPM09NB8esyOF2RieDI7fowUGwapcgyGPWDEBXA1X%2Fj%2BJkUXGtHGmv2fp2Sg1TdgdnDWOWlpyfJLZ3sHb%2FT89s0Gyj68UAZOgxoV%2BEduWp9eS7nOQuF%2BXvoTlwGs5d9SOtsBA8l82eSxXEx%2FSoS0YyROTQc31Q3tlnHm%2BoEJ7OU4L7ALvN4HE%2Fxepj0lgIPTK4U|tkp%3ABk9SR6ai68qlYQ
  6. When I was a teenager on the south side of Chicago in the 60's I used to go to a couple great black owned BBQ shops there .. They had the best Hot deep fried Chicken Gizzards and Chicken livers crispy and spicy hot as hell..you could buy a small bag, enough for lunch for a couple bucks..made to order. I cant eat that stuff now.
  7. If you want it FAST and Reliable ..Not cheap...Nobody beats DHL.. Cheap and popular? Parcel Monkey.
  8. And the hundreds of hours docc puts in to keep it all going!
  9. Those will probably Morph from 90 degree Barrels to 60 Degree Barrels in a couple years
  10. As Footgoose eluded to ...The title , correct year and ownership is the FIRST issue to verify...otherwise the rest is irrelevant....
  11. MG has to pay to have it shipped to them from the EU BEFORE they can sell it..they aren't a big company like Stein Dinse.., and the Euro is at an all time low at the moment. Not easy to be a small buisness in America during these times.
  12. Its a bitch...especially if it hasn't been apart for a while and wasn't lubed the last time it was apart..if ever..make sure your system is de pressurized . lots of care..I got rid of mine and put a gates hose on the red fitting and a metal quick disconnect from AF1 in the line ..
  13. HEY!! Thats MY number from about 13 years ago!!
  14. Most O'reilly Auto parts stores in the Bay area sell individual hex sockets that size..probably at least 3/4 if not 1 inch..so you may need a socket adapter if you don't have one..its worth the investment you will always need it if you own that bike. Like Scud says..see if you have a larger size bolt around that the head fits..or better yet use a Micrometer if you have one Pay close attention to the order of disassembly to the inner and outerspacers and washers as they come off the axel ..its easy to screw that up.
  15. Its been for sale for quite a while at that price...tells me something.
  16. YUP Chuck..Anyone who who has ever started a 1 or 2 man business and is good at what they do knows this experience..ESPECIALLY if it is from your Hobby..its a good way to forever ruin the joy you had for it. If your good at what you do you will eventually have more work than you can handle, most of your waking time will be trying to put out fires. Like the perfectionist who works by himself in his home shop and does my major mechanical said last time we spoke.... 'I'm busier than a one legged man in an ass kicking contest"!! I might add..Especially when you have a small motorcycle shop in Snow country like Wisconsin..You have a short season and only a few months to make your nut. ( been there done that too)
  17. I have a pristine pair ...$50 plus shipping for the pair
