  1. Send your addresses by personal email. More efficient than me asking each one of you.

It is free of charge. The objective is to do some kind of team building for the motley crew.

If you feel generous, you can give to the webmaster for providing the playground in which we live.

  2. Damp patches that momentarily dry out then return to the track surface - known as weepers - were the cause of multiple crashes in the Spanish MotoGP sprint race.

Ahead of Sunday’s grand prix, the state of the track was criticized.

Several of the riders, including one who was initially on the podium was demoted because of tire/tyre pressure penalty.

Revised tire/tyre pressure rules mean riders must now stay above a lower front minimum of 1.8 bar (instead of 1.88) for 60% (instead of 50%) of a Grand Prix distance, or 30% of a Sprint. Stricter 2024 tire/tyre pressure penalties, no longer allow an official warning for a first offense. You get 8 seconds penalty.

  3. If I had the space, I would seriously consider this one, even in this color....

    Anyone else?

2012 Moto Guzzi Norge 1200GT 8V. It is a very good bike looking for a new owner, in great condition, with no accidents, it did get dropped in the driveway so there are a few scratches on the right side. Great for two-up cruising or spirited corner carving. Has a Corbin seat, and an Agostini silencer. Side and top cases, electrically adjustable windscreen, heated grips led headlight bulbs, barkbuster storm handguards. Regular oil changes with Liqui Moly full synthetic oil, forks rebuilt fall 2023, all drive fluids changed spring 2023. The engine has had the roller conversion performed. I have the stock seat and silencer, service manual, and owner's manual. Only ethanol-free gas has been used in the bike. Have the title in hand. Serious inquiries only. Must allow a photo of driver's license and current insurance to test ride. 10/6/23 New tires 39668 miles, 03/09/24 brake and clutch fluid, spark plugs, fuel filter replaced, valves adjusted air filter inspected.

Annoying, but nobody is depending on that delivery to stay alive. It will turn up in the next couple of days, I'm sure. Take it easy... B)

It is not about the wait; it is about the service being priced according to the transit time, and the lack of accountability of not only USPS, but many other companies.

    I am fresh out of a similar fiasco with FedEx;

I paid 234 USD to ship my Quota instruments to Casa di Moto in Germany.

The 234 USD I paid was based on a time frame for delivery. Somehow, FedEx Germany did not get the information it needed to clear the package from the German customs. That information was provided when I went to the FedEx Office where I shipped the package from. They gave me a printout to verify that everything was correct, including the custom declaration, the telephone number, address, email address of the recipient.

The package got stuck at the German customs, and I received a voice mail from FedEx the package could not be cleared because the recipient's detail were missing.

I provided the alleged missing details; phoning FedEx in the US proved to be extremely difficult.

After several days, the package was finally delivered to Casa di Moto. FedEx Germany sent a bill too, because instead of doing a temporary importation since the instruments were just going back to the USA, they did a final importation, thus charging duty.

It does not stop here, but for the purpose of being brief, I can tell you that FedEx declined making a partial refund for not executing the service as they should have had.

Yes, the package eventually got delivered, but the service provided was overpriced.

In the same way, you purchase a flight and it gets delayed; you miss your connection with another flight operated by a different company.

Post covid, there are serious service quality issues with many providers. I am fine that it may happen, but if you don't provide the service you got paid for, you need to refund something.

  5. I am sorry, but I have to say it: US Postal Services are really subpar!

What is the point of providing tracking, if you can't get the basics right... the package was scheduled to be delivered on Saturday 27th. Then Friday, and now Monday.

Even Amazon, that used to be fairly reliable, is now bombarding you with texts of changing delivery times, dates.

but depends on your "luxury" requirements.

After my night at "El Cosmico" in Marfa in 2023, I am apparently ready for just about anything.... :sun:

Kidding aside, I also had a bed bugs experience in 2022 in a shabby motel around Coleman, where my neighbor had a fight with his fiancée in the middle of the night, threw her out of the bedroom, and she kept banging on his door for a long time after that....:D I learned a few explicit words which I had never heard before.

I think I am properly prepared to face the dreadful Cedar Vale lodge if it comes to that.

  7. I pencil this one too; also because I want to drop by Bartlesville OK, to visit REDA Pumps. https://www.slb.com/resource-library/article/2021/celebrating-90-years-since-the-creation-of-the-reda-pump-company-in-bartlesville-ok

In 2000, I was assigned to the Esso Chad project, where oil extraction had to rely on down hole pumps from REDA. I got to interact with personnel from Bartlesville, some of them young enough to maybe still be there.

Going quickly through their website, I can see the Electrical Submersible Pumps is no longer their core business, even if you can still find ESP products if you look: https://www.slb.com/products-and-services/innovating-in-oil-and-gas/completions/artificial-lift/electrical-submersible-pumps/agile-esp

If my Quota is ready, and if the planets align, I would be interested, camping excepted. There is a "Cedar Creek Lodge" in the vicinity.

  8. This weekend, we have the Spanish Grand-Prix at Jerez.

Many pundits, including the grand guru Jorge Lorenzo, have predicted that Pedro Acosta should get his first win. This would rob Marc Marquez of his title of the youngest's MogoGP winner ever. Me think that Marc is probably planning to not lose that benchmark.

It will also be interesting to see how Francesco Bagnaia is going to perform, as he is now in a pickle in regard to his principal GP24 rivals.

Last but not least, Maverick Viñales will probably need to confirm that his COTA performance was not an isolated effort.

I've always marveled at how a proper Englishman can be so excited and so boring at the same time. Great video, though!

I don't know about the Englishman's pedantic narration. I like the well composed diction.

I am unable to listen to anything when people try to squeeze as many words per minute as they can; maybe this is what they are trying to avoid? boring their audience? in my case, it has the opposite effect. That, the talking heads, don't forget to like and subscribe, my name is Gontrand. I am guessing that by now, the people watching YouTube understand the subscription and like button.

In many cases, they forget that a video is to convey a message using images. Otherwise, it should be a podcast.

My favorite, so far, are the guys "reacting" to a song, or a video, an event. It seems to be successful, because we have more and more of those too.

  10. When I was 16, with my motorcycle driver's license in my pocket, earned on a Honda CB350, came the tedious choice of picking a first motorcycle. When you are 16 your budget is obviously limited.

There was that super large dealership, multi-brands, named Robo from the owner's name, Jean Robo; there, was one of the MV Agusta 750 S; I think it was three times the price of anything else. Yet, I walked the 30 minutes to and from every Saturday, salivating in front of all that splendor congregated under the same roof.

I found a link containing photos and printed ads of the place. As can be seen, he was trading absolutely all the motorcycle brands, shameless...

    https://concessions.lesmordusdugalet.fr/index.php/ile-de-france/1127-antony-robo

The dealership is long gone, but this was like going to EICMA every Saturday and sometimes Sunday mornings....

    Almost all the bikes shown below, the vintage ones, must have been on sale at Robo at some point in time. Not the Bimota Tesi;

Hey Pascal...are we going to have these do you think before mid June perhaps?  Need a few hours to sew it on before departing for John Day on June 22nd!

I've mapped out that I can get another 8-10 stops along the way of the Grand Tour heading towards Lubbock on the first day of exiting Texas in June on the way to New Mexico before getting to the high country and the mountains.

Would be great to have the V11 patch next to the other Guzzi patches and Grand Tour patch also on the jacket.

The company manufacturing them promised they would be ready on April 29th. As soon as I have an update, I will communicate it.
