  1. I purchased some black auto-vulcanizing sealant and I applied it this evening. Hopefully, this should carry me through the Texas Tour completion. I added some oil to compensate the seepage.
  2. That's what I mean. What's new from Suzuki? I was still going to kindergarden when the Hayabusa came out; V-strom and Bergman. Even Moto-Guzzi came up with a ghost motorcycle they named the V100 Mandello...
  3. I purchased my V11 Le Mans from Florida. The accountant said Florida has a law that stipulates you need to pay Florida taxes if you are going to ride the motorcycle in the state. Even if you are an out of state buyer. I had a temp Florida temp tag issued. I suppose it make sense? When I registered in Texas, the Florida Taxes were deducted and I ended up with a credit. But I agree with you. I don't see why I need to pay Floridian taxes when the motorcycle is not going to be registered there. I also had to pay the dealer's fees for registration, because they need to keep documentation of the sales, again per Florida's legislation. Anything the dealership needs to pay is ultimately paid by the buyer. I don't like that you can only get it in white. No red, no deal!
  4. Here's the invoice; Is it only me? how could they send a price that includes "other and extra fees" for 2000.00 USD without specifying? The alleged reason for installing brand new tires after only 853 miles, is to consolidate the feel that it is an almost new motorcycle. This is what the sales assistant said it was.
  5. Have you noticed that Suzuki seems to be dropping the motorcycle business altogether?
  6. I meant unachievable. MotoGP bikes have to be continuously developed to be competitive the following year. I have no information pertaining to this, but I am certain Suzuki is not working on a 2023 bike. The only assurance given by Suzuki, is they will continue to support the team until the final Grand-Prix. Now, this is my opinion, maybe there is a possible solution with Suzuki next year, I just don't believe in it. As for the spectator's attitude, I am with you. From what I heard, it is impossible to sleep in the camping for the three nights; Thursday, Friday, Saturday. During all the night, people are revving their bikes. Crazy!
  7. I see there is a gas station in Terlingua: Alon. Marathon to Big Bend is 100 miles+. I would not want to run out of gas on the 118 or the 385. But given that we have a stop at that Big Bend Biker hotel, I think the 118 to go to Big Bend is most likely the way to go. Enter the park through the western entrance and exit through the northern towards Marathon. I am hesitating between the 90 and the I-10 though. What would you recommend? on the I-10, which is the recommended google itinerary, it is an 8:00 hours drive not taking into account the stops. 563 miles. I think I want to check if I can do that in one single drive. I could take US-90 on my way back. I think I should be able to do it in three days total. I-10 to Alpine. Overnight at the Biker Hotel. Then down through Terlingua, cross Big Bend, get to Marathon and US-90 to San Antonio overnight there, and back to Houston the following day. I am going to ignore all the stops around San Antonio leave them for another trip. Is this a good way to do it?
  8. Well, there is a big controversy at stake at present. I don't know if you have watched some of the follow up streams from the various entities, but I did. It is also being discussed in the post race topics. To sum it up, the riders are saying it has become impossible to overtake mainly because when you follow the rider that precedes you, your front tire becomes chewing gum; this is how Fabio Quartararo puts it. Here's one written article about it from Crash.net, but you can find the same discussions on YT. Another question being asked is will any other team follow Suzuki's lead to quit motoGP? they are breaking their contract with Dorna, just one year after signing it. Almost every contract I have looked at has a "Force Majeure" clause. And one of the Force Majeure common cause is war. Let us see what is going to happen at the Mugello where the winner is most likely going to be on a Ducati.
  9. @GuzziMoto The option to have Suzuki sell the team has been pretty much ruled out; if you are thinking about the Kawazaki "Hayate" solution with Marco Melandri. Reason being, in today's motoGP, no development means no opportunity. Jack Miller is said to be heading the KTM way. Joan Mir is also penciled to replace Pol Esparago in Honda. Alex Marquez is staying at LCR; Taka is probably getting substituted. "La Bestia" may remain at Gresini; rumor has it that Francesco Bagnaia is not rolling out the Ducati Factory welcome wagon. Coming back to Le Mans' specific, 110,000 spectators on the Sunday. Lots of support for all pilots that justified Jack Miller's shenanigans at the end of the GP. Sadly, the support did not extend to Marc Marquez. He was copiously booed each time the opportunity arose. Anyhow, Aprilia is able to provide the two additional bikes and support, so they say. But not as a filler for the grid. They want to have a capable well funded team.
  10. @PJPR01 I am like a Camel. I don't really suffer from the heat. What gets me the most is the wind buffeting depending on my orientation with regards to its blowing direction. However, I had to make a concession to safety; I am riding without my airbag. Buc-ee's jacked up the ethanol free gasoline 1 buc! the morning was 4.999; when I stopped at Katy on the way back, it was 5.999. I ran out of phone battery during the trip, and found out the hard way it is not easy to find Ethanol free gas randomly. I am planning to do 24, 29, 38 next. I wanted to do 12 and 13, but I have been told CBP officials have been scrubbing, borderline harassing people coming back from Big Bend, because of the proximity with Mexico. There is apparently a check point when you come back from the park.
  11. Two stops accomplished today; #7 and #41 Creedmore and Cuero Tx. Temperature around 96 degF! about 400 miles today. I got lost and went to Austin before turning back on I-35. My total is 9/50. @docc For some reason, Ethanol Free gas at Buc-ee's Bastrop is 90 Octanes... The 48.8 mpg is done keeping under 4000 rpm. The 37.7 mpg was strictly 4500/5000 rpm. There is a big difference as soon as you go above 4k rpm.
  12. https://www.cycletrader.com/listing/2021-Aprilia-TUONO+V4+1100-5018414890 Why would you replace the tires after 853 miles? the only reason that comes to mind is that bike was used on track.

I followed the link from Twin AH; It seems like a good deal, the bike looks really really nice; even for 8550

You can use keywords in the search input, but their search engine does not really work well, and seem to return paid contents ahead of the rest. I did not find the particular above, maybe it is already sold? Here's a search based on Moto Guzzi V11: https://www.cycletrader.com/Moto-Guzzi-V11/motorcycles-for-sale?type=Motorcycle|356953&make=Moto Guzzi|2319674&model=V11|764976686
  15. You only need to type AMSOIL bad reviews to get a load of hits and opinions. All of these as unverifiable one to the other. As I quoted, there are some negative reviews floating around. I am not concerned as I have no intention to use AMSOIL in my V11. However, they are one of the rare among all the oil companies I tried, who answered my query to get a detailed list of their additives in their 20W50 Motorcycle oil.
  16. It is easy to go fast in Texas, as it seems nobody pays any attention to posted speed signs. Post pandemic, everybody goes as they need or feel necessary. I still see some Police prowlers in ambush, but I don't see them chasing anybody going under limit+30/35 mph. There aren't any fix radars like in Europe here. But it is so hot and humid that wringing out the throttle can be unpleasant. Yesterday I rode the back roads between the farms, and I had to stop to clean my visor, literally opaque with the amount of bugs having sploshed on it!
  17. I concur with you. A very enticing aspect of the V11 is its retro look. The Aprilia looks too futuristic with all these angular accents.
  18. I checked their website, and they advertise the V100 Mandello, 2022 too. Maybe they know something we don't?
  19. I would not say that I am putting undue weight on the bars, but I rest my hands on it. I easily rest my upper torso on the tank and hide behind the fairing without feeling awkward. Cuts the noise and wind pretty well.
  20. AF1 Racing is at Austin; but I added them up to my list.
  21. Wow Enea Bastianini!!! 3 out 7! would it be the first time a satellite team wins a world championship? Francesco Bagnaia lost it, and could not accept Bastianini was simply faster today. I also very happy for Aleix Espargaro and Aprilia to finish 3rd. And kudos to the French crowd for the celebration given to these three guys and all the riders! Jack Miller clowned it too to thank them!
  22. In remaining fully objective, I really don't understand why Dorna could even think that a new, non already involved constructor could replace Suzuki starting in 2023. The only possible option, in my opinion, is Aprilia. Even the mighty BMW would not be able to put together a package to compete in 2023.
  23. My left wrist is damaged owing to my days doing Inline skating. Each time I ride, I need to keep my left hand opened, with my fingers laying on the clutch lever. To complicate matters, I started to ride vintage motorbikes early in my teens, those had extremely hard clutches and I also have a permanent tendinitis on my left hand. I doubt any kind of muscle training could change that. I sometimes wear a brace on my left hand for support. I have been told "infiltration" could alleviate the pain, but I am unwilling to try.
