  16. a true bulldog bike shopped used for 600bucks in 2009 - living in a friends farm house in northwest spain now - only 10kms to the atlantic coast. The GB 500 was my initial dream bike !!!! - but as usual totally unaffordable in those days for poor me - 10000 DM was the sticker price Honda dealers asked for in 1992. I drove the 3000km from here to Santiago de Compostela in three and a half days through rain and fog. Today it is , according to the spanish Honda Classic Club, one of 6 XBRs registered in Spain. Cause in the 80ies Spain was not Honda Country as it is today. As outcome of Franco politics they started importing foreign bikes in 1986. Before Guzzi was the only "foreign" brand known. Argentino and guzzi owner De Tomaso had a factory and deal with "el Caudillo and his gang".
  17. initially wanted the black edition - but then i spotted the Maico 500 sticker on the swingarm and i knew the first owner was my type of guy

  21. the honda was an amazing fun bike but was traded for the occasion of a nearly mint MG Quota ES 1100 first owner from new
  22. germans usually do the same - hence the difference for BMW - she the bike / he the car but i tend to give certain bikes male names - if they are outstanding hardworking pieces of engineering as this V11 ! It was my first italian bike that was a true brother Compared to your collection and the other amazing machines shown in this community most of my bikes are daily rides or just goofy memories with the exception of the old gp maico.
  23. sister ? it is a hard working brother (1999 first series) without much modifications other than parts, broken by crashes on mountain roads within the last 15 years. front wheel, brakes and exhaust collector donated from centauro review mirrors and handlebars- street legal after market parts steering damper from a later Le Mans In it´s younger days it was a nearly mint example but 14 years later ...
