  1. WANTED North American source for Magni fairing for my V11 Sport...... NEW or USED considered. After other considerations, this is the way to go for me.
  2. Although my MG Sport is still on the way, my experience with tires is on my current ride, a 1999 CBR 900RR. The Bridgestone iteration of the day, 010 front and 020 rear, worked out really well for traction, especially dry, but milage was
  3. David, WHERE did you find a Magni fairing for $300.00!! I want it!!
  4. Is there an online source out there for "parts" diagrams? I'd like to see what the headlight bits look like before I order the '96 Sport's fairing to screw onto the 2000 model.
  5. Ya living in the great white north has definite disadvantages. I guess I'll have to satisfy myself with the lack of PST.

You certainly need to keep the temp of the O2 sensor hot, as carbon fouling very quickly degrades the sensor's function. Thanks for the pointer to the current closed-loop marques.
  7. Indeed, it would! But even if the suppliers allowed it, this stupid Customs thing would make that prohibitive. My experience has been that a $1.00 US item costs $2.00 Can. landed on my doorstep. and most of that is BS taxes and duties, which are a bitch to get back if you return stuff.

Admittedly, I'm new to the world of Guzzi, and to EFI motorcycles, but why is this industry so many lightyears behind the automotive industry in terms of closed-loop control? Is the relatively small size of the motorcycle engine the issue? Certainly it's not the lazy state of tune of motorcycle engines! The issues of performance and economy seem to beg for a closed-loop system, so why is it that even the BIG Japanese makers are not there yet? Surely Honda, at least, could readily import the technology across the street from the cage division! It seems that even the aftermarket motorcycle EFI industry is simply a matter of providing a platform for messing with the A/F map of an open loop system, and perhaps the spark. A basic piggy-back box might quite easily close the loop, and even add multi-sensor parameter tracking for the enthusiast. What's up in this industry?
  9. Yes, Steve... indeed it does! I want to know if it's something proprietary or something I can fab up for that fairing..... if I buy the Airtec piece.
  10. Bill, I just spoke to the fellow at Airtech. He said that they have the 1995-98 M/G Sport fairing. Do you think there are significant differences in the 1000 Sport and the V11 Sport, in terms of mounting the earlier fairing? Also, I can't find a picture that shows the headlight detail very well on the 1000 Sport. Anyone know what's up there?
  11. Model of what? Are you suggesting the Duc 1/2 fairing for the V10 Sport? That's maybe a decent option!
  12. Paul, I have seen some bearings that had the inner race somewhat wider than the outer race. This makes the determination of the critical issue important. So long as the bearing's outer race is fully carried by the wheel, and it is if the dust seal can be installed, the primary longevity issue is lateral bearing load..... either preload or post-tightening axle-clamping load. This is defined by a snug-fit of the inner races to the spacer. Bearing set-depth is non-critical.
  13. It's not so critical whether the bearings are fully seated in the wheel, so long as they are snug against the spacer, and close to seated. I seat one, then to finish the second one, I drop the axle through the bearing-spacer-bearing pack and use the proper size drift (socket) to tap the second bearing to where the inner races are snug to the spacer, as aligned by the axle. That leaves no preload on the bearings and allows no axle-nut load on them either. It also avoids the presumption that all bearings are going to be exactly the same.
  14. Thanks for that, Steve. I've been in contact with Dave Richardson, and he has been very helpful, even thought this is an e-bay deal. I'll give them a shout about the Magni fairing.... it should be the deal because my bike is black. My other bike is charcoal/orange and I was thinking of doing the Guzzi black/orange kinda like the newer Lemans has been done, or like the new Copra(sp), with the fairing and seat cowl done in the orange, so it matches the black/orange Givi luggage that I have. I'm a bit dangerous with my VISA in the winter months. Edmonton's winter is just a bit more claustrophobic than yours, in Surrey.
  15. Is there such a thing in North America??
