  1. This is the broken piece I found in the gearbox, unfortunately I don't have a better picture of the ratchet with the broken spring on it. When I said that I unscrewed the eccentric screw I ment that it was not tight anymore and I turned it right and left a couple of times from outside so that I don't remember the exact position, but I didn't unscrew it completely so that it fell off.
  2. OK, when you open the cover and look into it this is th right orientation. And yes, it is the eccentric screw that stops the spring arm. I know that the two toothed rings have a phase, the mechanic I brought the gearshift marked t and I know that I have to place it seta in the neutral gear, which is marked by the pin and the little hole in the toothed ring. The spring is broken, I found the piece at the bottom of the tank, in the oil, and there are also some more metallic fragments. I'll have a look at the tread, thanks.

  4. These are tools that helped a little in removing the gearshift It happened actually that when removing the gearshift by mistake I unscrewed this screw here from the outside, and I don't know anymore the right position, can someone help me?
  5. OK, I had the gearshift removed last saturday, this is lhow it looks like and how the gear looks like My guess was right, the pawl spring broke I will have the spring changed and the ratchet boss reduced, I don't feel confident in doing it myself and hope the problem is solved then.

OK, I am very slow -minded today, but I didn't understand any of the two things you wrote, what do you mean to "dress the spring bearing point? gallo in italian is the name for the celtic population that lived in the north part of italy before the romans came, or the name of the male chicken, but in my case it is the first that i mean, what about the swedish redwood?

    Ireland and V11s?

    So wecome to the land where Guzzi hasn't arrived yet. No guzzi dealers, only one garage that has repared some guzzis in the 90's. I'll be happy to meet you. Where are you going to be based?
  9. I would have the warranty from the dealer, which is 1300km away across the Irish sea, so I think I'll get the springs and have them changed in Dublin. Wednesday I am approaching to remove the gearshift, go to the mechanic and have the boll reduced and the spring changed.
  10. I just celebrated 15000km and there we go, the gearshift is blocked in 2nd gear. The shift is moving but the gears do not change, I can feel a hard "clack" when moving down and then up again. I followed briefly the different discussions and I finally think that it is the spring broken, mine is a early 2003 Le Mans, so it might have the 16mm boll. Thanks to BelfastGuzzi I have a reliable idea of what to do, and although I will not do the substitution myself I will go tho the garage with all the spare parts and knowledge required to do the job. Unfortunately there's not any Moto Guzzi dealer in Dublin, only a mechanic that stopped working on Moto Guzzi more than 10 years ago, hope that he will be able to fix it. In the case it's not the spring, what else could it be?
  11. I was just wondering....... on the Moto Guzzi website it is specified that the titanium cans and ECU are just for track and not for daily use on public roads, will a cop know or find this out?
  12. So you would suggest Stucchi rossover and mistral cans, or mistral crossover also? Are these modifications producing "holes" somewhere? With the original setting I can use my Le Mans at whatever rpm and it is fluent, especially when I am riding in the city I really enjoy that I can ride at 2000pm and simply open the gas when I need to pass a car, will those modifications affect this?
  13. Are you talking about the 2002 Le Mans crossover or does that apply also to the 2003?

  15. Panniers are the Moto Guzzi version of the tekno ones, the racks are pretty similar, and since the back of the bike is black you don't notice them really. I'll shoot a picture of the bike without panniers, anyway.

  17. I'd say no problem to carry 7kg in a top case mounted on the original carrier. I did 1500km with 15kg in my top case, riding 140-150km/h in motorways, and the carrier is perfect. I carry 7kg (huge laptop plus backpack) in the topcase every day to go to work since one month and no problem at all. I have a givi V46 top case. Here is a picture.

    The side bags are exactly the same as the moto guzzi ones for the V11.
  20. Actually I didn't experience any problems with the top case blinding the mirrors, there is part of my arms anyway before. I did 1400km last weekend, from Turin to Cherbourg in normandy, then boat to Rosslare and then up to Dublin. I got a lot of rain but the motorbike reacted in an excellent way, I guess it drunk a lot of motor oil, due to the long riding hours. The side bags are OK, the same as the tekno, I would say, and quite impermeable, after 150km under heavy rain the content of the bags was still dry.

  24. As I said before I bought the frames and the bags from Moto Guzzi, they had probably tekno manufacturing them and asked for some modifications of the frames, so I didn't have to do any modifications, they came directly as they are, and I think they are stronger than the standard tekno ones.
