  1. I have no doubt that Pay Pal can be used as an account to deposit into. After all, many of us sent Pete payment through Pay Pal for his slop sheets, myself included. Raz, that would be fine. Just let me know what you want to do and we can go from there. In the mean time, I can call and ask if they ever considered putting the logo onto a shirt. I'll get back to everyone on that one. 2. Before we get to ahead of ourselves, refer back to my previous post. Is someone willing to be the connection to get them to Europe in the first place? I am by no means a wealthy person, but I am willing to front the money to Uncommon. If Someone is then willing to send me the cost plus shipping to the UK or Europe upon reciept of the patches, and then go about getting paid back from all involved from there, then we can begin to get a head count. I really don't want someone to send me money until they recieve the patches. I feel that keeps it all on the up and up. How that individual handles the rest of the people for payment will be his business, not mine. As for shirts, I would have to ask. If Peter is willing, fine. If he has no desire to do shirts, then patches it will be. If we can establish the above requirements, then I believe a new post to get an actual count is then in order. Zoom Zoom, John Henry
  3. Just for the record, I don't want to undermine Guzziownr's desire to trade patched with someone. I am however willing to help obtain some for those who just want them. It does seem logical to me to work with a single person to get the patches into Europe in the first place. I believe that would keep the shipping cost to a minimum. I DO NOT desire to make any profit what so ever. Only to cover any costs. I can pay Uncommon up front for the patches, then the person I ship them to can pay me for the patches plus cost of shipping, and those charges could then be divided up respectively to anybody from that point on, along with any individual shipping charges. If there is someone willing to be the "European Connection" for this, PM me.I'll reply with my e-mail so that we can move forward. At that point, we can begin getting a proper count and proceed from there. Once I have a number, I can contact Peter and have them made. Zoom Zoom, John Henry
  4. I contacted Peter over at Uncommon yesterday. He presently has two in stock but has them made locally. If he, or I, knew how many to get made, it was suggested that maybe they would be sent to one place in Europe in one bag and then distributed from there. Possibly that would be the least costly way to ship them. He said he just doesn't want to mess with the shipping and associated costs to go overseas. I think he said they were $12.00 USD. Please don't quote me on that, it was a fast call during work, but that should pretty close. Like I said, let me know if I can help. I'll be happy to. Zoom Zoom, John Henry
  5. You won't find any better!! As good as maybe, but not better. Zoom Zoom, John Henry
  6. If DW cannot help you out for some reason, let me know. I live 1.5 hours away from Uncommon. Peter Askey is who I bought my EV from. I have done business with him many times. AS an aside to this, Peter was the 1973 National Trials Champion. Zoom Zoom, John Henry
  7. I recall that thread. Those are Ducatti bags. Mounts are fabricated. If you care to PM me, I can send you a pic of my LeMans with color matched HB bags on my '03. Practical, and looks pretty good too. Zoom Zoom, John Henry
  8. I too looked at helmets at the Cleveland show this past weekend. I presently have the Nolan N-100E. I have been VERY SATISFIED! I wanted to look at the new N-102 that they came out with a while back. The new interior, along with the revised opening system for the front has me considering it, even though mine is only two years old. Their microlock system for the chin strap is the easiest I have found. There is so much good that I am willing to overlook the noise factor. After all, that can be dealt with too. Perhaps the 102 is better, I don't know. For me, the Nolan fits perfect. The new 102 fits me exactly like my 100E. Zoom Zoom, John Henry

  10. Richard, as was previous mentioned, it takes some miles for these babies to get broken in. As an example, I hadn't realized how much my '01 EV had evolved with now 75,000+ miles, until I got the '03 LeMans. Night and day difference. Keep an eye on the bolts, like the alternator cover, that sort of stuff for a while. Until the engine went through a few heat cycles, I needed to tighten them up after every ride. Now, with 5000+ on the LeMans, the engine feels better and now a bit smoother, but without losing its character. Bolts now stay tight. I do need to get the throttle bodies balanced, however. It just keeps getting better!! Sorry to hear about the other stuff. Been there, done that. Congrats on getting the Guzzi. For many, it becomes a life long love afair. Zoom Zoom, John Henry
  11. I realize you have done what you have done.... But, why didn't you simply put hard bags on the LeMans? I did. Zoom Zoom, John Henry edit: Whoops, Mike beat me to it. I actually went a bit further and got the bags with the color matched inserts, then added the LeMans decals on said insert. They nearly look like they came that way.
  12. I an certain the Eagle was always intended to face forward. I have seen many that were not. Probably a result of using whatever they had at the moment. A number of [wrong] ones I have seen were original paint jobs, not repaints. Call me picky, but that is something I would consider correcting, if it were me. Zoom Zoom, John Henry
  13. Try to get them down a little on this one. The Eagle is facing backwards on the tank. Zoom Zoom, John Henry
  14. Please don't construe that I was knocking it. Personally, I advocate it whole heartedly. I think the Tuning Link session is worth the bucks. It is on my EV and will remain unless I upgrade with a newer one. As I stated, the trouble I had was of my own doing. (Responding to another claim of trouble.) Otherwise, after many thousands of miles, it has been trouble free! I felt that worth mentioning since I rack up some miles on the bike. Also, I apologise if I implied the newer bikes won't benefit. I was simply saying that there was a noticible improvement in the stock puter. (This comment was based on riding my '01 EV compared to an '03 EV, which I have also ridden.) I know I mentioned my LM. It does not have that very defined flat spot the EV had without the PCIII. Thank you for confirming what I thought about the newer PC's running seperate maps for each injector. Zoom Zoom, John Henry
  15. IMHO the "older" bikes, say pre '03 seem to benifit more from the PCIII than the '03's and up. The stock mapping was better by then along with the front crossover. No doubt others know better than I here. Having said that, the only trouble I had on the PCIII on my EV was, (I think), brought on by myself. It began causing the bike to run rich while away at a rally. I disconnected it until after my return home. I have an older one. This is what I think I was doing..... I would use the fast idle lever, aka choke, before I powered up the bike. I think the PC would set itself as if that were the base setting. I changed my starting procedure so I power up the bike, wait for the fuel pump to stop, THEN if needed pull the "choke". I have now logged many thousands of miles without any trouble. In the perfect world, have your bike tuned by a dealer in pure stock form, pipes, air filter, etc. Then, after you make your changes, drop the $$ on a tuning link session for the PCIII. If everything is done right, the bike will run better without sacraficing fuel mileage. My EV runs better with it than without it. I get the same mileage as pretty much everyone else. Usually low to mid 40's. A pre defined map will get you real close. The tuning link will get it spot on. My '03 LeMans is still evolving with only a bit over 5000 miles on the clock, but I think the factory fuel map is much better than that of my '01 EV. If you look at a graph of a fuel map, there were some big drops along the RPM range that translate into flat spots and so forth, at least for the EV. I have not looked for a graph for an '03 LM. I also think that the newest PCIII's can regulate each injector individually, which is a good thing. Todd, feel free to chime in here. Zoom Zoom, John Henry
  16. I have lowered the pegs on my LeMans, although I have a one off kit. What I can tell you is that it makes all the difference in the world. I would say it is worth every penny. Zoom Zoom, John Henry
  17. Congratulations! I hope you grow to love the LeMans as much as I do mine. There are a couple of things you mentioned that I might speak to. The shift spring trouble you describe is something I experience occasionally too. I am not sure if that is a symptom of the spring binding on the boss or something different. (That would probably be good to know from someone.) However, if you give it just a tiny bit of gas after you release the clutch, that pops it back up. Once upon a time, I knew something of the "theory" about crossovers and how they affect performance in relation to where they're positioned in the exhaust system. Up near the head, I think (???) it is supposed to help bottom end power a bit. In either case, (with/without) it should not be detremental to performance. The only thing I recall that was of concern in the past was creating more heat around the alternator. Without knowing you mileage, if it is low, the enging will evolve considerably over time and will require periodic adjustment to run good. Know that it will run great even when it needs a valve adjustment or TB sync, so I don't want you to think it's bad. It's just that you will continue to see improvement for many miles. Getting my LeMans reminded me of how much my EV evolved, where it was and where it is in terms of smoothness and how often the above mentioned adjustments need to be done. I hardly touch it any more. A sloppage sheet from Pete Roper is recomended to help keep the oil near the pickup during hard acceleration. This is something many of us are concerned about. As to the pork chops, you can have your own anodised or probably purchase the other ones. It would probabaly be cheaper and quicker to have your own done. Also, I have noticed over time, exposed to sunlight, that red will fade. Not really noticable at first, but over time becomes really noticable. I considered it too, but decided against it for reason mentioned above. Mufflers: You have several options. M4 slip ons sound great. Staintunes sound great too. I don't know if you can still get them though. I put the M4 Ti cans on mine. I have been satisfied. Otherwise, the bike is stock. Mistralls are another option. I have a set of Mototec bar risers waiting to be installed. I'll report on them as soon as I stick them on. Search previous posts, I posted about tank suck. Read it. Heed it!! Save your self a bit of anguish. Zoom Zoom, John Henry Edit: If there is a PC3 on board, you will find the wiring that plugs into the puter plugged into a PC3 that has a harness going into the stock puter. The bikes that come with the crossover got a new map at that time. I'm not so sure that the newer bikes would benefit as much from the Power Commander as the previous models. Food for thought.
  18. FWIW: I put a set of M4 cans on the LeMans that I bought from MPH. Everyone that hears them say they sound fantastic! Much lighter than the stockers too. Zoom Zoom, John Henry
  19. Sorry to hear about you trouble. I can second Sidi. I purchased a pair of the "On Road Sympatex" boots prior to a long trip this past summer. One day, we had torrential downpours all day. Toma Wisconsin to Bismark North Dakota. I was the ONLY person on the trip with dry feet that night. I bought them from New Enough. (Yes, they were new.) Highly recomend!!!!! Zoom Zoom, John Henry
  20. Yep. I have 1 of two sets in exsistance that were custom made. I bought them from Frank Wedge. Drops the pegs and controls down three and forward 3 inches. The pegs end up just behind the lower bolt on the pork chops. Once my Mototech bars show up, the bike will be nearly perfect. Moto International has a set that relocates the pegs and foot controls. Hopefully Greg will chime in here. He can get you photos if you want. There are also threads about using Buell pegs to gain about 1 inch. Most I have talked to are satisfied. Either of the above are pretty resonable cost wise. The Buell solution needs some modification before installation. The kit from MI is a bolt on deal. Zoom Zoom, John Henry
  21. Of course this is very subjective, especially as there are many that are good looking. IMHO, I favor the Rosso Corsa. That flag paint job is fantastic! Zoom Zoom, John Henry
  22. AJ, another thought. Howard R actually installed a set of Cherry Bomb Mufflers on his Sport 1100. For the price of the mufflers, (about 30 bucks), a 12 pack for a buddy to attach brackets, and having them jet hot coated, he has a set of muffs that sound fantastic. I am not sure what he did with the intermediate pipe. I don't know how to get in contact with him, but others here or on the wildguzzi board probably does. I have no doubt he would be happy to provide details. Not only do they sound good, they look good as well. Zoom Zoom, John Henry
  23. Mine arrived today, 10/25/06. Very nice piece. Thank You Pete! Zoom Zoom, John Henry
  24. Hi AJ, good to hear from you. Long time no see. Just curious here, how much are you looking to spend, or save? By the time you gather all the parts, you're probably in the ball park on a new set of muffs anyway. I can tell you that I am very happy with the M4's I installed on my LeMans from MPH. Thecans came with everything to bolt them on. Zoom Zoom, John Henry
  25. Crooz, I put a set of M4 mufflers on the LeMans. I got them from MPH. They sound great. Funny thing was, they started off a bit loud. After a little carbon built up inside, (I suppose), they have a deep growl and, like I said, sound grrrrrrrreat! Zoom Zoom, John Henry
