    Tank Bag

Try baglux on the web, you have to buy a cover that fits the tank, then there is a large range of different size bags all interchangeable with the cover. If you change bike/have more than one bike all you need is the appropriate tank cover and you can use the same bag on all your bikes. baglux website Cheers gary
  2. Hi all, just a quick couple of pictures of an idea that may be useful to others. I had to change the front tyre on my v11 the other day and as I live in a terraced house and my maintenace is done in the street I have to put the bike on the pavement when using the track stand as my roads camber makes it too unstable otherwise. As I had to leave the bike for a while without a the front wheel fitted I was a bit worried about leaving it up on the trolley jack. So I made a quick stand out of some box and a piece of tube the axle would fit through easily. So once the wheel was out I just slide the axle back through the forks and stand let the jack down and everything is nice and solid. The pictures explain easier than words. If anyone wants more details give me a shout and I'll be happy to help. I,ve also include a picture of the track stand I cut up and modified with extra tubes and made to fit the guzzis swinging arm safetly. Cheers Gary

    Welsh Waltz II

Hi, have a good day out and hope the weather is fine for you. I have had to use up all possible favours to get day off in the following week to go to a medal presentation ceremony( my father in law is being awarded the french legion d'honeur for gallantry in the last war-he was a commando on the raid to St.Nazzier) so not a hope for this week or I would happily have been out with you. Cheers Gary
  6. Hi V11, when my battery threw it's hand in before xmas I replaced it with a hawker odyssey pc545, the bike starts easier, especially with the cold lately. The best price I could find was a company in north wales called Tayna electrical supplies www.tayna.co.uk with vat and postage £77.46. It was delivered within a day or so and no problems. Cheers Gary
  7. Go on where's me point if I was the first to get the right answer huh! Cheers Gary
  8. I've replaced the bars and indicators with items from the shed (where all good bike parts go to group together till further use ), as I have already converted to bars and risers at least this was easy. Have ordered a pair of pattern levers as they where cheaper than a standard one, will see about quality in use. Only leaves a new fly screen to find, and on looking closely today decided I will replace the headlamp shell(non standard when the bike arrived) as its getting quite rusty. As Ouiji Veck said god help a small child if he didn't feel it knocking over 500lbs of Guzzi, have now calmed down(amazing what a good nights sleep will achieve) and will chill out, could have been a lot worse. Cheers Gary
  9. Hi Edge, no problem I'll wait till you post again to replace my piece of hi-tech underlay! Good luck and stay safe in Afganistan Cheers Gary
  10. Hi Edge are you doing anymore guards, if so how much for both and freight to the UK and what would be the best way to pay you. Cheers Gary
  11. Hi all, had a knock on my door this evening from a guy wanting to know if the bike outside is mine, I look past him to see my v11 on its side. After first desire to punch his lights out passes go outside to pick up bike with his and my other halves help. He is busy apologising and saying he never felt a thing as he pushed my bike over-desire to start punching is rapidly returning. To add insult to injury he's driving a newish 5-series beemer and has bloody reversing sensors, but is worried because they didn't go off. At this point I really was steaming and the missus is hovering ready to intervene when a short temper fuelled by 7 hours sleep in the last 70 hours is set to explode . In the end damage seems to be limited to a broken fly screen, two dodgy front indicators(not that great before), bent bars we came to a suitable financial arrangement and he left, with the proviso if I find anymore damage in better light tomorrow we will put it through the insurance companies. I thought he was a fairly decent guy for at least knocking and not just pi**ing off. Then a little later one of my neighbours tells me he saw the guy do it and made sure he knew that he had his reg and would give it to me, so maybe he wouldn't have called who knows. Cheers gary
  12. Hi, put out 3 wheelie bins, 2 cars and a block of flats, normal day in rainy Liverpool. Cheers Gary
  13. Hi all, I've taken the opertunity of 2" snow to take the diff out and repaint it. While I was pulling things apart I looked at the drive shaft and I thought it was two pieces that slid on splines, hence the 2nd grease nipple at the diff end, but mine seams pretty solid. There is some end float at the geabox output shaft and was also wondering was this normal, or has my shaft siezed up and caused a problem in the gearbox. Any knowledge and insight would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Gary
  14. Hi all, I need a rear brake lever for a 2000 v11 naked, original or anything that fits as I managed to brake mine. Cheers Gary
  15. Hi just a few pictures to show the alterations to the rear end of my 2000 naked. Like other threads I've read, I hated the acres of black plastic at the back end of my bike. I don't mind altering things to make a bike my own, but like them to be reversable if possible. So with this in mind, I created a bracket from stainless sheet that would bolt on to the original 3 bolt support for the rear guard, decided to paint it black rather than polish it, but this could change if the paint wont stay on. I used an led tail light, it was the right size and shape and i liked it, and a set of halogen bulbed small arrow indicators to replace the large guzzi ones. This will all help me to mount a set of krauser panniers as everything is well tucked in and I can use the same 3 bolt mounting to crate a rear mount for the pannier rails to pick up on. Cheers Gary
  16. Hi, following one of Martins postings last year I had a look at the site myself, entered and had a great time. As Martin says, it's a great way to see places and ride roads you would not normally see and I did a fair few miles myself. I did not achieve Martins allrounder award myself, only qualifying for a silver award but really enjoyed the event and will attempt to do better this year -hopefully. Cheers Gary
  17. Hi I have a baglux tank cover, holds the tank bag on, and this has built in gripper pads. I must admit I am not a knee down rider, but very rarely get left behind, and the guzzi is the first bike I've ridden were the knee pads and grip where effective and help with the riding position. You have to live with the looks of the tank cover, mines black, but they are now available in a green fairly close to the bikes colour, so may change soon and put the original up for sale. Cheers Gary
  18. Hi I changed my bars early last summer and did about 7000 miles with the new set-up, including a couple of 500 mile days with no real problems, 200 with the clip-ons crippled me (two broken wrists on duty) so in my case a definate improvement. I loved the V11 when I first rode it, but knew I could never live with the riding position, then a test on a ballabio convinced me a) the bike was what I wanted and I could easily modify the riding position to suit. I have noticed know apprecable difference in the handling, but I am only 5'9" so maybe that helped, although had the problem arisen that mdude is curious about I had decided I would drop the forks through the yokes a few mill to see if that helped. On my bike, a 2000 there was no mark left on the forks by the clip-ons. As you can see my risers are fairly similar and bars are not far off. I did change the front brake lines, I did not like the routing of the original, it had to be cable tied up the back of the fork leg as you can see in this picture. So I made up two braided lines and used a double banjo bolt, I did not like the t-piece guzzi line, although later found a similar idea on my brother-in-laws monster, but the t piece is behind the headlamp. Also I made up a longer throttle cable to also allow a smoother routing, everything else fitted fine. Hope this may be some help mdude. Cheers Gary
