  1. Sound is gone. Bled the rear brake and changed the pads and cleaned the caliper and rotor. Used 5.1 fluid for replacement. Pads are now EBC.
  2. Without a doubt these are probably the best cared for V11s we will ever see for sale. I'm sure the time spent maintaining these alone is worth well over the asking price. How far along is the champagne lemans project? What still needs to be done to make it roadworthy? That is a gorgeous color scheme!
  3. Motorcycle, classic Porsche, and a singer who is easy on the eyes....whats not not to like. The song is not so bad either.
  4. For a mere 49K euro you could have this custom German Guzzi. Ultra rare for sure....made to order. Radical Guzzi Ristretto with 1400cc engine. This has to be the most beautiful guzzi ever. www.radicalguzzi.com
  5. ....if I wasn't forbidden from buying more toys, this one would already be in my garage. someone buy it so the temptation is gone. https://sacramento.craigslist.org/mcy/d/2000-moto-guzzi-vll-sport/6293447866.html
  6. Saw one of these at the handbuilt motorcycle show in Austin, TX. Never seen one on the road.
  7. Great video! Thanks for sharing. Will have to make that trip one day.
  8. Thanks for the input. Will service the brakes and report back.
  9. Anyone know what this noise is? Seems to be getting worse. Has been present for some time now. Bike feels fine while running. https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=em-upload_owner&v=XpToBiy6e_4

How did you get those pipes so polished?
  12. thanks for the info. I think I underestimated how hard I was pushing it in the morning. On the way to work tonight it was fine all the way to 8k without issue.
  13. Was pushing the 02 Scura a little on the highway today and hit the rev limiter at ~6-7k RPM (I am not certain of this so it could have been slightly higher)....when should it kick it? I've never had that happen before. I've never really pushed the bike before. Actually I didn't really think I was pushing it that hard when it happened. I searched 'rev limiter' and came up with this link and another not related to V11's. Wondering if anyone knows when the rev limiter should kick in so I can make note of the exact RPMs next time. I do not have a Power Commander, just changed the starter, recently upgraded to OMRON relays, any thoughts are appreciated? To keep things in perspective, it has happened only once so far.
  14. PROBLEM SOLVED. So I am still working on cleaning the old starter but thanks to Scud for sending me his spare starters. Replacing the starter has solved the problem. Started up beautifully today and sounded like a very solid confident startup after sitting for several months of downtime. Thanks for all the great advice. This forum is priceless....great minds and great people! I've learned more about my bike from this one post than any other source in years.
  15. Will clean it up and see if that makes a difference.
  16. Lots of gunk in there....is it worth opening it up further or just get a new starter? What are your thoughts on this Mitsubishi starter that is being touted as more reliable and more easy to repair if something goes wrong? Is it even an option for the V11? Scroll to bottom of the link below. http://www.motoelekt.com/starter.htm
  17. I'll try it again. I can get it open that way but I didn't see a way to pull everything out from that end.
  18. Regarding taking the starter apart: 1. the screw in blue comes out easily 2. the tab circled with orange seems like it just holds this in place but does not require any unscrewing 3. How do you remove the rivet in order to get the housing off? thanks
  19. Here is the jump test in slow motion to get a closer look at whats happening. The last two seconds of the video are at normal speed.
