  1. I would also go for either http://mapage.noos.fr/goffredo/various/Guzzi-watch-1.jpg or http://mapage.noos.fr/goffredo/various/Guzzi-watch-2.jpg... (and not for the current design). The mockup-designs are more in the line of the style of Junker... Just my opinion... I know the feeling, you already have 25 pre-orders so close to 50. You could also start a new pre-order list for the 1st or 2nd mockup and the pre-order list that is 1st to reach 50, is the one to go. (and send an e-mail to the 25 already on the list that they can also list themselves on the new list). For the copyright: you could send a letter to guzzi saying that you are going to do this, and that if they agree they don't have to do anything... Just a thought...
  2. Not sure if they are already on the list: Termignoni's Dark sound, a real orchestra... Did not have a long go with them (I'm working on re-painting the shaft drive) but the sound is really cool!
  3. Following up: My new Sachs rear shock arrived today, bought it on Ebay in Germany. Just curious: how can I prevent it happening again? Lubricating the "eyes" of the shock? With WD40 or other thin grease?

  5. Approx 350 USD... See: If enough people are interested, this could be an unique chance to purchase an unique, high quality timepiece of very limited production. It would be an outstanding way to display your favorite motorcycle brand, even when the dress code dos'nt allow printed t-shirts and brass belt buckle.... Nope - it aint cheap (quality items seldom are), but with the nessecary quantity of 50 pieces, I'm able to offer this watch below usual street price, despite of the higher cost caused by the special dial. Price is USD 350,- (aprox. EUR 268,-), and includes shipping world wide. Please do an internet search to se the price level of a plain JUNKERS 6256-2, but please note that most are sold with mineral mineral glass, not sapphire. (There's a significant quality difference between mineral glass and sapphire) You could also do a search on other watches that features the ETA 2824-2 movement - you'll hardly find anything below USD 500,- I'm not asking prepayment from anybody, till we know if we can collect 50 preorders or not. Please send me an e-mail with your name and adress if you want to pre-order the Moto Guzzi watch. I'll use this site to let you know of the pre-order progress. Please spread the word........
  6. hmmm, I just sent an e-mail blast to a couple of harley dealers I could find, and one of them has it in stock. The dealer where I went earlier today raised the impression that it was not normal for Dutch harley dealers to have it in stock, but HCS in Zoetermeer has it. I will go and get it there (also cheaper, "only" 29 euros...)
  7. I'm working on some parts of the bike that should be black, but are flaky and corroded. Managed to remove the old paint, and wanted to buy a spraycan of black paint, but the harley dealer here doesn't have it and doesn't want to order it because the minimum order quantity is 4. (and the price would be 35euro's/45dollars a can!) I googled the typenr 98606bf, but it seems that there are no online shops in Europe selling it (and able to ship to the Netherlands). I did find a shop in the US, but they charge at least 35dollars to ship to the Netherlands... Anyone any suggestions where and how to buy it? Thanks, Mark
  8. ...ok I think I'm lucky to have seen this, could have been nasty.... I will repair it before riding again... (maybe on ebay look for a stock or Ohlins rear shock) Thanks for your answers! KiloSjon
  9. Here's a pic of my "garage"... Trying to find something better in the neighbourhood, but in the meantime this is it...
  10. Removed the rear wheel today to re-spray the shaft drive thing. Noticed that the "eye" of the rear shock is broken. For the long term, this is not ok and I will see how to fix it (may be a good excuse to fit Ohlins?) but is it a problem for the short term? The other thing I noticed is that the dust cap on the shaft is also broken, I will fix this with a anti dust rubber shrink hose. No problem, I guess? Thx, KiloSjon

Welcome Richard, Coming from Honda's to Guzzi, I can assure you that the atmosphere in the Guzzi scene is very relaxed, and fun. There are no silly questions, Guzzi's have some weird things, so just ask. (only if you want advice on exhausts and tires, you might want to use the search option since there is no 1 answer to that) For your leg it may be worth wile in looking into lowered footpegs, will probably result in a bit more relaxing position for you. Use the search on it, there are some Buell and aftermarket options... Cheers, KiloSjon
  12. ...although I just bought a full Termignoni set, I think the adjustable powerband rocks! Same price as a x-over and you can always decide on the spot if you want low, mid or top-end power...
  13. ...I don't know what's going on (and have had to much Gin-tonics in the hotel bar to just shut-up)... For me there are three ground rules: 1. Pay respect to anyones viewpoint 2. No politics on a forum 3. If rule 2 is broken, see rule 1 Bluntly said, if anyone is leaving because of anyone with an opinion (whatever that may be) is not doing what he likes, I find it very hard to obey rule 1.... There is actually a 4th rule: any volunteer who is willing to moderate any community should always be treated with the utmost respect. He/she is offering time to other people, without getting any direct payments for it. R.E.S.P.E.C.T for that! So Jaap, Dlaing, jimbemodumbe, jrt, al roethlisberger, Martin Barrett, Lex, Van, Alex-corsa, debenguzzi (and I know also Paul Minnaert is contributing a lot to this forum) you rule! Maybe I forgot someone, but I think I made my point! Being on a tour through Asia (Shanghai, Singapore, Tokyo) I saw a lot cultures, met a lot of interesting people and saw a lot of (smaller and bigger) bikes, and it makes me realize that owning a Guzzi and sharing the experience with other Guzzisti, is something to cherish and enjoy! Let this not be influenced by silly discussions....
  14. ...I was thinking of going to france around the same date. Maybe I'll also visit Normandy, although the Alpes are really the place to be....
  15. OK, i agree, he has a dead wish. No problem, but he might hurt someone else. But if he was riding without any other traffic i would say "WOW that wheely in the tunnel is really cool!!...." (at 4:50)
  16. BMW took the same approach when they celebrated the 80 years anniversary. 0,8% interest for max 2 years. They wanted the R1150RT to be the top seller, and (surprise surprise) they managed to do so.... Talked to the dealer and even 6 month old RT's where changed by a new one with this finance deal. Later they also provided it for the GS, and it sold like crazy too... I think it is good to boost short term sales, but it still is a lot of money and you have to pay it all back... Just my
  17. Another tip: if you are dealing with automatic response systems, find here a list of cheat codes to get to a human as fast as possible... Cheers, KiloSjon (for direct access, dial 1-1-0-0.. )
  18. I want to vote on a caferacer retro 1100cc roundhead in the cali vintage line... But it probably will be a BMWuzzi...

  22. Ok thanks, the guy at the shop said it should be no problem and if I bought them he would make sure they are fitted low... At least I now know not to go that route...
  23. I can get a pair of Gianelli's (carbon oval) that as far as I can see are high mount (if I'm correct they aren't available as low mount?). Since I want to be able to add lugage and carry passengers, I don't want to lose or adjust the rear pegs. So my question is: is it possible to adjust the Gianelli's to make them low mount? I love the sound and the looks of the cans and the price is good enough to try them... The exhaust winterproject will also proceed, but it never hurts to have some nice cans to start with...
