  1. Rich did my 02 Lemans seat, easily the best upgrade I've done to it. It's far more comfortable, better for aggressive riding and no monkey butt, I do 400 mile days with zero butt pain.... OH yeah, really trick looking with Italian flag on the side. Just wish my Cal SS had a metal seat pan so he could do that one too!
  2. On my 02 Cal SS, dynolinking the PCIII improved my mileage to 45mpg from 37ish, have open airbox, x-over and LaFranconi's on my Lemans, got 30-35 mpg before x-over, open airbox and PCIII dynolinked tuned. After mods, gets the same mileage, but runs awesome, I suspect the crappy california modded gas to account for a few mpg. I ride with a gent who has a fairly stock 1000S, he consistently gets 50 mpg regardless of how fast we're going, better than his 78 850T3 he bought new. Range is my only concern, I still suspect I cant get the last half gallon out of my Lemans..
  3. I've been emailing Rossopuro to attempt to buy a torque arm for my 02 Lemans (shot rubber bushings). I wanted to assure I was ordering the correct part before I signed up. I've sent a few emails and not heard back, is there a better way to buy stuff from these boys? I realize I cant figure out the Italian stuff, and I'm interested in assuring I order the right bit, any suggestions on communication success with these folks? Thanks for any input. Cheers, Jon
  4. Larry, If you're still looking, let me know, I have a brand new factory tank bag for the Lemans Jon
  5. As Pete noted, folks post when they have problems. I've got a few guzzi's, one is 35 years old and well over 150,000 miles, as well as newer cali and lemans. I have owned many jap and brit bikes as well, the guzzi's once a few small possiblities are dealt with are easily as reliable as any bike I've owned. Pete bought an old convert sight unseen, then proceeded to take a many thousand mile cross USA trip on it, only to ship it to Oz to continue the abuse. These are simple, reliable bikes that run forever, and any intitial problems are known and easy to resolve. buy it, ride it and dont look back

Todd Egan at guzzitech or socal-guzzi.com is parting out a lemans, he probably still has the clipons, it wasn't crashed
  7. I've got a custom map for Mistrals, fbf x-over, open airbox makes 84 bhp, I'll try posting int

    VOTE NOW!

Well if you're going to take the poll, be sure to vote for Alice Sexton, Ed Milich's (guzzitech ed) main squeeze, she's fantastic
  9. Check the torque arm, I wager the bushings are shot.... gives you a bit of a jump as the engine loads up
  10. I live in So Cal, and have dyno linked PCIII's on my SS and Lemans, I ride with many Guzzi folks and I'm not sure I know anyone with a F/I guzzi who does not have a PCIII. Surely the best investment for any F/I guzzi
  11. I inistalled straight wound traxxion dynamics springs along with a nicer oil and preload spacer, made my Lemans better sorted for heavy or high speed work, still room for improvememt. but nice quote name='profWacko' date='Dec 13 2006, 01:36 AM' post='109458'] This is on a 2004 Le Mans. Ok, I know I'm going to replace the springs with something stiffer, but what's the most cost-effective fork damper upgrade besides a fluid change to lighter viscosity? If it's Ohlins, I'll just have to bite the bullet and do that, but is there anything that's reasonable for less money? ADVthanksANCE -Jack PS: Just what year is this bike anyway? I have pictures downloaded from guzzi_usa a while back of a red/black Le Mans just like mine that says 2003 is the model year. My title says 2005. Is the model year determined by the build date on the frame? I'll look mine up the next time I take off the tank.
  12. I'm with Greg, the beauties work excellent, I do a bit o wheelyin and acceleratin and never see the light flicker now. To Greg's point, I'll vouch for Pete when he's booted from Oz and needs citizenship here, heck, I think he had a love child with my wife......
  13. In So Cal, it's been in the 90's for the past week, great riding, if a bit hot...
  14. Yep, you're right about Pete, if he misses his meds, he's hell to deal with... Here's a pic of Pete chokin his chook while swilling his meds... i wouldn't want to cross this guy in a dark alley, he's known to carry razor sharp plates, and possibly clamps as well
  15. This is one of the rare safeguards I think is a no brainer. With my guzzi's, I have a policy, anything that falls off 3 times wasn't meant to be there... However, I wont be testing this with my filters. Cant see any down side... I'm sure Greg and Pete will make a killing on their hose clamp stocks though
  16. Pete, The sloppage beauty arrived today, quite a nice piece... Many thanks, it's going in this Friday Cheers, Jon
  17. Pete, Take care of your family first, a few bits of metal for a motorbike are irrelevant, when you get to a good place, I'll take one, but only when it's convenient for you. Cheers my friend, Jon
  18. Hi Pete, PM'd you to get one as well Jon
  19. I've got a formotion on my Lemans, bulletproof and works fine, but I also have a $2 stick on digital clock on my Cal SS that works equally well, for $2...
  20. Further to the lead shot process. I figure I'm not going to change, so I mix the shot with Silicone RTV goop, then poor it in. It locks it in, can move and seems to work better. If you spray the inside of the bars with mold reelease or PAM, you can occasionally pull the sucker out in one shot. It's worked for me for years
  21. I've only had two sets of new tires on my 02 Lemans, a set of Metz sportec M1's with a 180 rear, and a set of Mich Power Pilots with a 170 rear, so far the Michelin Power Pilots are quite better handling with similar traction or a bit better than the Sportecs, which only lasted about 1500 miles. The power pilots seem to break away a bit more controllably than the sportecs, when they let go you slid a fair bit after you chopped the throttle, the michelins seem more controllable at the edge YMMV Jon
  22. Tex, I may be nuts, so this may not count, but I couldn't sleep decent for the past few years, thought it was sleep apnea, which was part of it, but couldn't shut the head off. Recently, I was on a cruise to a foreign country that rhymes with nexico, picked up some Ambien sleep tablets. Man, these boys work, I slept like a baby, and didn't feel gooned in the morning. I would axe my doc for a weeks worth just to try em out if I were you. I was given Xanax too, only work if you take a handfull, and knock em back with a cold one. Ambien's seem to work on their lonesome. Good luck TX, Jon
  23. I'm fairly well into a bottle of nice spanish cab, but the leaf in a heater under load sounds a lot like pre-ignition (pinging). Are you using good gas, these bad boys can ping pretty easy if not properly setup
