    Hot hot hot

I'm with Chuck: get guzzidiag up and check your CO fuel trim. So many V11 come set in the negative double digits (way lean). Make sure your air bypass screws and idle setting are adequate. See the "Decent tune-up" for details which include attention to the valve lash. There is also a, somewhat controversial, modification to the head temperature sensor/ holder that has been tested and proven by a few and discounted, in theory, by others. Worked for me in my high ambient temperature riding environment (90sF/30sC). Run best quality fuel, zero-ethanol is especially helpful. See also, Understanding Fuel The Neutral light is another matter and involves the switch on the left of the gearbox behind the starter. You can service the electrical connection, remove and clean the switch actuation, and might consider a gearoil change. Some have found RedLine Shockproof to improve switch (and other) function. I like the lovely blue *lightweight* . . .
  2. this does kind of remind me of when the spring broke inside my master cylinder (except it never "reset") . . .
  3. Today, my clutch lever suddenly "gave way" slightly and the clutch would not engage. Then, it came back and off I went. In the next ten to fifteen miles it did this several more times: lever pressure would "giveway" (as in: loose lever, no feeling of resistance) and no clutch engagement. Several times, it engaged again suddenly and lurched the bike. After the last stop, about six miles from home, it has not done it again. I've squeezed and squoze and held and pumped the lever repeatedly in gear, in neutral, and with the bike shut off and it has not repeated. I'm trying to find Andy York's resolution on his slave cylinder and got distracted by an old thread in *Silly Banter* that Belfastguzzi regaled us with and Ponti ran away with . . . "Two Cows" I needed a good laugh, but my clutch still has me worried . . . [EDIT: answered! https://www.v11lemans.com/forums/topic/20037-sticking-clutch/?do=findComment&comment=223175
  4. And right in front of Barbaric Oxygen Chiropractic.
  5. I used to use "Super Shell" back on the leaded days when good premium was pink (but not so lon g ago that it was called "ethyl" ). I stopped using Shell fuels when my BMW ///M roadtser's fuel level gauge would malfunction on it (repeatedly). This new "Nitro+" product has impressed me in the Sport. (Haven't tried it back in the roadster . . . )
  6. Interesting observation. It's pretty common to hear riders coming from American V-twins expecting the V11 to be as happy in lower revs. Yet, quite the opposite is true: the V11 just *starts* getting happy at 4,000 rpm, sweet spot: 5,000, and **SWOOSH** (right, Dave?) beyond that! She'll cruise all day long at 4-5,000. At 2,000 to 3,900, the V11 will be decidedly unhappy for a number of reasons. So, let her sing that full-chested aria!
  7. Seems belfastguzzi did a thorough step-by-step on the pawl spring complete with roadside repair . . . That's was quite a while ago, though, and photo links tend to die out.
  8. Texas fly-and-ride!
  9. "The doll . . . "
  10. It's not the dreaded 16mm (oversize) shift arm boss?
  11. Oh, for-goodness-golly, let's not start this whole relay thing up again . . .
  12. I hear ya. Curiously, the flash itself is not so aggressive, but the ensuing pass could be . . .
  13. Yeah, so I've been tapping the brake flasher as I apply the turn signal and it seems to give me a little more space. The riders following me yesterday gave it good reviews. I also started using the headlight "flash to pass " when overtaking and seem to get the driver's attention better.
  14. I think it's probably a sure sign no one has a real answer. What kind of canisters are on your V11 now?
  15. I am looking forward to your observations. The cost is certainly reasonable.
  16. So true. As it turned out, looks like the low beam pattern is improved and the high is "just okay." No oncoming traffic has been flashing me, yet I hope I am more visible than before without being annoying. That is a difficult attribute to assess.
  17. It didn't feel like anything *hot*. I suppose I should pop it out and run it "for a while" -> point the infrared temp reader at it. I got good reports today from riders following the LED tail light/ brake light unit swooshdave posted. I got the flashing model, so one guy said he had a couple seizures on the way Hard to judge the effectiveness of the LED headlamp unit . . .
  18. I am so jealous! All we found today was a badly marked intersection and an incoming squall line. You absolutely have no excuse to pass on this year's South'n Spine Raid!

    1000s

All good, man! The link works, I just copied and pasted the image. Sweet looking Guzzi!
  20. Gambalunga badging! Here's to Luciano Marabese!
  21. I can't see any discoloration looking through the lens at the reflector (yet?) . . . Sharing this observation today with some other riders, the suggestion was made to apply some aluminized reflective heat tape on the back of the reflector. I may have to try that. I don't want this ruining my reflector.
  22. 400 miles and I took the chance of telling some other Guzzi guys about it within earshot of the Sport (she does have ears, doesn't she?). But still good. And still surprised what I did made any difference. Of course, I don;t really know what I did . . .
  23. Haha . . . is this a trick question?

    1000s

    Yeah, man, here ya go:
  25. Hard to see. I don't remember noticing those brown stripes at twelve o'clock and six o'clock. I am afraid they are *new* . . . I believe I would have noticed that, especially with the discovery of the heat damaged connector.
