Thanks for the update. This means that anyone could install the RAM 5-speed unit in a V11 if they have the correct transmission input hub.
Good to hear your bike is sorted.
And the twin plate 6speeder already has the correct hub?

Okay, I give up, what does "Aaaaaah! "Champagne!"" mean? :-)
The color of the '02: "champagne."
One of the most beautiful LeMans colors, IMHO. Everybody knows I love them all, but there are a few that really pop the design language, and I think the champagne is one. I suspect the red/grey of '02 is more common, but IDK.
Sweet ride, man!

Green . . . . black
. . . . *silver* (looks like you've got *silver* covered
) . . .
Are you going to be a RedFrame guy or a LongFrame guy . . . .
. . . .

I'm guessing April and May, here in The States, is going to bring out some tasty options for those afflicted souls looking to hook up with a SpineFrame!
-
Did you crank it up and let it *affect* you!

Shoooooot . . . . I saw Emry posted and clicked to see The Answer.
Aw, man, I hate it when this is the answer:

hahaha, phone charger and go-winkie in one!
Heh - I *know a guy* who could build a Go_Winkie app for your mobile device . . .
-
The wires for the electric petcock were freed up, and I am using them as a switched power source for a handle bar mounted USB plug to charge my phone.
Wot?!? No Go_Winkie ?!?

Yeah, good points there, man, as usual.

It's hard to fathom that casting a dedicated piece, applying a finish, and pressing bushings into each end would be any cheaper than a length of round stock with two Heim joints installed?
I had always had the impression it was done as a matter of *style* . . .
-
I was asking mainly because I am always curious about ways to reduce the amount of clutter of hoses and wires and extra fittings etc etc on the bike, and it looked like a possible candidate for removal if in fact it wasn't crucial to the operation of the engine.

Speedhut has been spectacularly professional and patient with me while I have re-refined the face designs. On to the actual build now, then to the installation. Thanks to all of those who have gone before me!

A couple systems that really benefit from frame grounds are the headlights and the horns. These are also the systems that benefit from a separate fused power feed to auxiliary relays . . .
I just added two relays to my EV's headlights and they are now visibly brighter. Would my '04 V11 benefit from the same setup or does it have a dedicated headlight relay already? TIA
No dedicated headlight relay on your '04. Lots of owners have reported brighter headlamps with fused power to a dedicated relay, grounding headlights back to the frame or block.
brlawson just got the components and materials from EasternBeaver to do this.

I decided to use separate relays and grounds for the hi and lo beams, but I'm a certifiable nut case.
Of course, everyone here knows that already . . . .

Hi
I could be wrong ... the Ohlins forks have the hollow axle that also has a nut to
Fasten it. i.e.... ducati
The Marzoc"s have an axle that feeds from left to right and screws into the right
fork lower.
That part # should be GU 01614190
I am unaware of a 3rd option
sorry ... can't put my hands on my old one
andy
Oh, right! Maybe four variants?
Early (40mm) Marzoc's could have the axle threaded into the left fork leg or through bolted to a lock nut. I had thought the later 2003-2005 (43mm) Marzoc's were hollow, but forgot all about the Öhlins!

You must have a hollow axle?

I found moto fugazzi's 2013 post showing the valve. Check it out:

And guzzimoto's explanation here:

Seems like when I replaced my breather hose there was talk of a check ball, but mine didn't have it and no other V11 owners reported one. I think I saw it in a diagram, so maybe the 1100 Sport/ Sport 1100?
-
Again, why not use the check valve common to other Guzzi big blocks?
And why was that eliminated from the V11 anyway?
-
Did not pre-V11 big blocks have a check valve in the main vent? Is not the same thing?
-
Is that a "Quat-D" ?

Thanks all. Regarding the mistral crossover, I've read lots of conflicting reports on this, with some saying that it makes the midrange worse. I appreciate it's off topic but I'd welcome any thoughts.
Uh, I don't think you can be "off-topic" in your own topic . . .

Yeah, we need more *Greenie attitude* . . . .
BigBlock and LuckyPhil and LowRyter need somebody in their corner!
And then, you'll find yourself in a tight bond with other RedFramers. A dubious lot . . .
