What?, too much Pasta?

...says the MotoMessiah....what a hypocrite Brother Messiah, me thinks thou doest protest too much! Whining about the limited choice of bikes you have! gimme a break, with your SP3 and XB12S... But that Moto Morini looks like double the fun of just about any bike If you do have a valid complaint, it would be the lack of a decent Authorized Guzzi dealer in Los Angeles And for what it is worth, when I lived in Toronto, I had to ride to Lockport, NY for parts!!! (But atleast when it got too icy, the public transit did not suck) PS Molson and Labatts suck almost as bad as Bud and Coors. Thank the deities and mortal man for microBrews

Decorations are for sissys That bike is born to be ridden But it sure is pretty enough to be used as a decoration

Awesome job John! What are your thoughts concerning the increased cable drag due to increased angle? Would you consider an even bigger wheel or do you think you are close to the limit of acceptible cable drag? I suppose regular lubing becomes more important. I searched for a smaller throttle pulley (at the handle bar) but did not find anything.

Great deal! I wonder if the set up includes adjusting the dampers on the dyno? Did you ask them about cartridges and or revalving options?

http://www.motointernational.com/main.htm is also an excellent source that will stock slip-ons, but lousy website...They used to have a downloadable catalog I think there mufflers are Lameronis, that may be re-badged Mistrals (the best sounding mufflers on Earth!)

And here he is earlier holding the notes in his hand

RacerX would not let him leave alive with the notes I saw him chew the notes and swallow, chased by fine white vino! That is RacerX at the computer and Don Angel mechanic from Sonny Angel Motorcycles in the foreground. (even 60 year old mechanics go digital ; ) Note, there are even better photos at http://www.phpbbforfree.com/forums/socalguzzi-about541.html

I dream of a world with no cages tailgating my bike in the rain on a greasy offramp More power to Carl, Martin, and Joe, clearing the lanes of those who endanger us the most. The best job for the worst pay I ever had was picking up checks for what turned out to be a bogus veteran's non-profit. The telemarketers would send me out on my v65 to pick up the checks before the gullible would change there mind. When we made the TV news, I guess I became enlightened to what I suspected, and then went and worked as a messenger driving a cage and losing my profit to parking tickets and repairs... It was more fun to be a bike messenger But to be a bike cop, atleast the wages are liveable.

Pigs are worse than hog riders for waving back. I give them a wave everytime....but fewer than one in five wave back(and that one in five gets elevated from pig to officer)....rude, I tell you, rude.

We NEED details! That swing arm and rear sub-frame look very interesting.

That is a beautiful bike. I think the new Falcone 1200 should have had a laid down parallel twin like that one. Tonti was the man!

November 6 - Norton Owners Club's 26th Annual Hansen Dam Ride All British Ride & Show, "best ride by a dam site!" Osborne exit off the I-210 Fwy in Sunland Tujunga. Ride leaves at 10AM, get there early for show registration & coffee. The Italian bike contingent runs the ride backwards to avoid breathin' in to much Norton emissionii

A pleasure to meet you and Angel. If you did not get a chance to swap rides, there will be other opportunities. There is going to be a british bike ride at Hanson dam in early November...perhaps you can make that????? Good luck gettiing your camera back from Kimberly....

Martin found the answers 1) "No, we're not worried about competition from Honda. All they're doing is making customers for our big bikes." a) Triumph's Don Brown circa 1964 in one of the great "famous last words" statements of all time 5) "Americans aren't going to buy four-cylinder motorcycles". a) HD's Walter Davidson, circa 1967 86) "To hell with national security and the bullshit war on terrorism! Valerie Plame is a lesbo, and I'm gonna out her" a) CLASSIFIED -
I would think so too, but experienced hack, Peter Roper kind of disagrees with the friction modifier useage....causes glazing or something.... and for my two cents, I say go with the lighter oils for the first 10,000 miles and then go thicker. And yes I have certainly seen that 10/50 does not seem to last like 20/50, but I still like the idea of using the wider grade, I just change it very frequently. For southern California, it might be a good idea to use 20/50 in summer and 10/50 the rest of the year.

I go with .15mm intake .20mm exhaust Opinions vary, but for most people the bike idles better with numbers larger than .10/.15mm RaceCo recommends the numbers that coz uses.

Excellent point. I think we will see a trend in future bikes for longer travel, not just to give more travel between bottoming and the point of loaded sag, but also to allow for more sag and extension. The first signs of it are the SuperMoto bikes and the Buell Ulysses. I believe the trick to setting up the long travel suspension bikes is to give them more than 30% sag. As an example: The Ulysses is basically the less short wheel based Lightning, but with longer travel suspension. 6.51 in vs. 4.72 in for the front forks To set both Buells up properly, the Lightning would probably have 25-30% or lets say 1.22" sag and the Ulysses ~40% or lets say 3.01" sag. This would give the both bikes the same ride height, but more importantly, by having lots of sag, it could comply with potholes very nicely. And sure, if the center of gravity is not too bad, give the Ulysses a little less sag, so it can have more effective protection from bottoming, but the point is don't go overboard, and don't use a 25% sag number for a long travel suspension that is going to be ridden on crotch rocket ridden canyon roads.
