What rims are those? They look... somewhat lighter than stock?
Hi Skeeve,
unfortunatelly not, these are OEM wheels for first carburateur version, 120/70-17 in front and 160/60-18 in rear...

Do you own or rent the equipment to do this? This looks like the way to go.........
unfortunatelly not
I always use some local workshops, I believe you should have some nearby you also! It is used for cleaning various products, from kitchen and medical equipment to restorations of old "things" and ect.
It is not expensive anyway, 2 Guzzi engines, 2 trannys, 1 final drive and I payed 170€

that's the bike I've fall in love 6 yrs ago
Very good job!

You did what ??????? with the dry ice.....
you know sand blasting - this is blasting with dry ice, it blasts away any resistances like oil, dust etc, then evaporates. So you don!t have to tear the engine apart to pieces.
and you see the result
-
engine blasted with dry ice, carbon sediments on piston (3-4mm thick) are gone!

Harley with kardan bar?
that doesn't match the famous HD motto: "we sell 1939 technology for 2010 prices"

should work also with early Ducati ones (Monster 600 etc.) - they are the same.
or you can try same aftermarket product like VAPE (http://www.vape.cz/img/Podpora/Rozmer/A-R92.pdf) but its rather costy - 100bucks+shipping.

It's a bit disconcerting to realize that our V11s are now old enough to be considered "restoration projects"
sad... but true

+1 for Vortex clip ons. They are so sexy if black anodized

Well thanks! that feels good to hear.
The sidecar is a 750 from 1972 and won the 2011 Belgian Championship. Notice that the field is very international with riders from GB, France, the Netherlands, and more, even old GP-riders do compete this championship.
I rode the solo-bike this year in Post-Classics after the 'unlimited'-class was suspended because of "too fast and too dangerous". Now all the 'unlimited' bikes do ride in Post-Classics it's obvious the organisators don't like the Post-Classics either (and don't let us race all races).
Because of that we're gonna swap the engines and the sidecar will ride the big 1200 roundfin and I will enter the 750cc. Though that engine is very powerful we have got to loose a lot of weight from the Tonti to be a bit competetive with other Triumphs and Nortons. To be continued.
Hi JC,
so when will you attend the ITT Hořice?
-
Thanks Skeeve!
I've heard rumor that Guzzi bikes are big... must be a mistake.
-
Try Gutsibits for the 5th gear- they have a huge warehouse of new and used parts and deliver very quickly.
A friend of mine may be interested in the tail piece- how much would you like for it?
Regards
Guy
Thanks for tip Guzzirider!
I have alredy uploaded it on ebay:

.. and since I will throw the OEM parts away... ...
Could be a DAES tail. Some Germans/Suisses/'Bade-Wuerdebercher' might pay for it. Paul could cross-post the pictures if you want to sell something.
Where does it come from? Was it a German one?
Hubert
Hi Luhbo, yes it was a german one.
I will put it on ebay....
regards

Congratulations on the new bike. Keep us posted as to progress with your build.
fish
well, until now I find only troubles and troubles....
the pipes are cracked in joints, the shaft is gone, the 5th gear is howling...

Thanks for that Slavomir Musilek. Will likely stick with the 2CT's, can't fault them really except for slight shoulder to front when worn, just wondered how the Pirellis compared.
KB
You're welcome, I just forgot to add that it is only my personal observation and result may not be objective. Maybe someone else will join and say that Pirellis are far better than 2CT. Than you'll have to test it on your own
-
I tried Pirelli diablo corsa III one time and switched back to 2CT. Pirelli's aren't that bad but they are no match when it comes to rain and wet. And unfortunatelly, it rains quite often here in CZ...
Now I ride Metzeler M5... and will switch back to 2CT again
