I hope you don't expect an unbiased opinon here on your decision making.
Wait,on second thought, give me the V11 and I promise you liberal visitation rights.
I went and picked up my buddy's Jackal because he was stranded by a dead battery. After getting it off the trailer, I jumped it to get it I started it back w/cables attached and cheched for charging voltage= 12.11v not enough to be charging. Swapped batteries and started it again and still not charging. W/koeo there are NO idiot lights on. There is no high beam or flash-to-pass. I have checked all fuses and there is voltage on both sides of the fuses. I swapped all relays 2 at a time and still nothing. Can anyone help with a wiring diagram. The owner is out "tom catting" or I would get the owners manual w/diagram and lok myself.
Fooey on the speed bleeder! Get some tygon tubing an a baby food jar 1/2 full of brake fluid. Bleed the fluid til you are satisfied it is clean and no air bubbles.
Do you own and can you use a DVOM? if you answer yes to both you can test the tps. It is a potentiometer with 3 terminals. Supply v , V ref (signal return) and gnd. Two teminals wil read the same resistance at all times with the other changing resistance with the wiper movement. You are going to watch for erratic (fluctuation) readings with the wiper movement.
I hate "blonde jokes" but this is funny.
The blonde girl calls 911 to report that her house is on fire.
Dispatch responds with the typical "how do we get there?".
There is silence, then the blonde responds.."HELLOOOOO, THE F***ING RED TRUCK!
That is why we wear ear plugs, full face helmets and muse of Steppenwolf,George Thorogood,Ted Nugent,BonJovi,etc...while we are going oblique to the Zeitgeist.
p.s. you never waste when you learn and you are never a fool to your friends.
Steve,
without any of us hearing it you are gettting OPINIONS not advice. If you feel it is inside the engine, tear it down. Is there any MGNOC member or shop near you that can help you with your decision? joe Eish from Salineville,Oh. is a good dealer that could give you help. I don't know how fsr he is from you.
I'm not ?ing your abilities but do you know what you are doing?
This engine is beautifully simple.Just start removing things that are in the way until you get to the rods.Remove them one at a time marking the position and direction. Make sure the bearing shells are stock and not undersize. when reassembling use Lubriplate white grease. Rotate the engine back and forth a few degrees to be sure there is NO binding or excessive friction on each rod. Use NEW rod bolts and torque EVERTYTHING with NO (dogs barking, wife hollering, friends with beer and other other party supplies)distractions.
If you get unsure, ask? There is no fool like a confident fool.
p.s. the crankshaft rod journal will get the most damage where you will be able to see it on the bottom of the crank when it is at BTDC.
