  1. Hi Mike Ive been in there a couple,2-3 times Im over in Accord if you need help.I may also have an extra spring. Basically the procedure is, Disconnect battery Take off shock remote Take off starter cover Dump trans box fluid save it if it's recent, replace if it been more than a couple seasons Take off connections to starter Disconnect neutral switch Remove starter disconnect gear change linkage remove the 11?! bolts that hold on cover, may have to tap off with a rubber mallet and yer in Take note of the position of the section gears there should be two indents to indicate alignment Yours may have extra bracing that Guzzi added later, mine doesn't Some info from one of my expeditions, with dumb newbie questions, that was about 4 times ago and the clutch was probably the reason why it shifted badly, but hey I can get the cover off in about 15-20 mins now http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=16884&st=0&p=180879&fromsearch=1entry180879 Michael Thanks for the info Michael.I ordered my spring today.I'll order an extra one s i know i;ll be ordering more parts for one of my other bikes. There's a British bike show in Oxford Ma that i would like to ride to.You should go as well.lots of other brands going as i understand
  2. I just joined the "Broken Shift Return Spring" Club on my way home from work today.Managed to get it into 3rd gear. It's a good thing i only live 5 miles from work. Anyway,i was wondering what it entails replacing the spring. I think i have a shop manual for my bike(2004 V11 Lemans)somewhere around the house but it might be quicker to visit the Factory and watch them assemble one. I didn't really study my bike to closely tonight as i had to rearrange the order of my bikes so i could ride my Sport 1100 while i'm working on the V11 . Thanks for any support Mike
  3. The 96 sport 1100 Does Not have One Battery Below the seat.It has 2 Batteries Below the "Rear" seat .Two 12 volts, one behind the other. They're Sealed and on their sides. I happen to have a 96 Sport 1100
  4. Hi Paul The reposition of the starter button is probably a clearance issue with the quick throttle so I don't think it's an issue. The original battery is position below the rear seat and it's not a 2 battery system but a single one . I'm running one with a 12 v/14amp rating battery. Since this area isquite big finding a suitable battery should not be a problem. Why is it 9v I don't understand. The bike originally comes with white power front and rear It also comes with a steering damper originally. What can I say is that I love the sports 1100i looks and riding experience.
  5. I think as you decrease your point gap, you're ignition timing becomes later, not earlier. The wider your point gap is,the earlier it contacts your "Ramp"therefore opening sooner.
  6. I thought that the driveshaft couldn't fit through the tunnel in the the swingarm? That's right, I just backed off the swing arm bolts and dropped it right out, gives you a chance to inspect those bearings and rear wheel also. I think I must have disconnected the suspension, it's only a 2 beer job. I have only done it twice so I'm no expert. Also gives you a better view of your cracked Sachs shock
  7. That owner deserves a Jap bike, not a Rosso Corsa
  8. I have the Black Faced Veglia with 9800 miles................. and holding.
  9. The rear brake light switch crapped out on my 04 lemans a couple of days ago. It's a pressure switch.I know cars from to 70's used them a lot.I'm not about to spend nearly $50.00 for a simple switch. Napa has them for around $7.00,just different terminals.
  10. I bypassed my pressure switch with a jumper and i got a nice, bright light therefore it must have dirty contacts. It's common on aircraft
  11. They must have changed design since yours'.I have a 2004 V11 Lemans with a pipethread pressure switch. I know a lot of cars in the 70's used these on their master cylinders. Mine crapped out after sitting for a month.
  12. When i bought my 04 v11 Lemans last year i noticed the windscreen sat crooked.Today i took it off and noticed my framework is tweeked.I can try to straighten it but it looks like it might be hard to straighten.I was just wondering if anyone had a straight one lying around to sell thanks Mike
  13. I actually talked to Mike today at Penske.$875.00 with a 3 week lead time for my bike.I'm glad i have 2 other guzzis to ride in the mean time I only wanted to get the sachs fixed so i could ride the bike until i bought a new one,but i'll just ride the Sport until i can get the Penske. Thanks everyone for your imputs Mike
  14. ok i guess i'll shitcan the Sachs, ride my sport 1100 until i can buy a Penske. Thanks for enlightening me
  15. Hi Was just wondering if anyone knows who can replace the rod end on my Sachs shock from my 04 V11 Lemans. I don't think i can take it apart any further without screwing up the seals. I don't need someone that will rip me off, just a fair shop. Thanks Mike
  16. Can you tell me where you bought it? Thanks Mike
  17. When i changed my rear tire on my 04 v11 lemans last week i was looking around up at the swingarm and noticed i have a crack in the rod end at the rear of the shock. Does anyone know what shock is on this bike and if i can buy the rod end? My owner's manual doesn't say what it is. Thanks Mike
  18. I think the Griso is one of the Ugliest newer models Guzzi has produced. To me,my sport 1100 looks much nicer
  19. Looking for a 97 Daytona,in good shape in the the states
  20. I like the looks of the bike from the front end back to the swingarm pivot. The rear wheel seems to extend too far out. Otherwise it looks long and low.Something Guzzis look good at.
