  1. What a way to start the day! Thanks TX.
  2. Why is everybody worried about the finish? Just put a soft cloth (even an ordinary towel will do!) over the tailpiece before you put on the tailbags...
  3. I'd be honored, but you'll have to do it without me... I'm planning on going in 2006 (85th Anniversary) together with about 200 (!) other Guzzisti. The trip is organized by TLM.
  4. It's on the Forum Calendar Pics 2003 Pics 2002
  5. On Discovery Channel they have a similar show: "Mythbusters". Very funny and educational: like f.i. a raw egg in a leaking car radiator; will it plug the hole? Yes!
  6. @ DeBenGuzzi: If I ask fixed amounts I could get in trouble with the Dutch IRS... BTW, the ring can be found here: http://www.motorradschmuck.de/de/neuheiten/article_1286/ Don't ask me anything about it; I only found the link on the german Guzzi forum. Could well be; it's german...
  7. A really good donation would be € 1.000.000,- Seriously, you shouldn't ask me. But how about this for a donation? just kidding...
  8. I think it's a waiste of expensive server space. I'll leave this topic on the site for a day or two so that people can react, then I'll delete it.
  9. Front is about 2 kgs lighter, rear about 5kgs!
  10. The "holes" are cut out of self adhesive vinyl. The whole helmet was coated with transparent lacquer (spray can)
  11. Guy, I'll be in Boxmeer on Saturday. Maybe we can meet? You'll probably find me looking at V11's or Daytona's I bet a few other members will show up there too.
  12. The day before yesterday I rode my first 100 kms with the OZ wheels. I didn't notice any difference without the cush drive. (I'm not a clutch popper) What I DID notice was the much lighter front wheel. I really had to get used to that. I turned up the steering damper a few clicks which made handling excellent.
  13. @DeBenGuzzi: I don't take any chances with helmets. @Tomsp: I wonder how many V11 riders would kick their Japanese Arai's And proper fitting is requirement #1; HJC was perfect. Pictures of the ECH (Emmentaler Cheese Helmet)
  14. In Holland there are no warnings on helmets; we already know we have to close the visor to prevent eye damage from bugs... Only the inner padding split.
  15. HJC FG14:
  16. Just came back from the bike store. Jeez, talk about limited options! I went for a top of the line helmet: Schubert, Arai, X-Lite, etc. All too small!!! I came home with a nice black HJC, with 10% season-opening discount: € 190,- This afternoon:
  17. The whole winter I had plans to repaint my helmet (UVEX K1) and turn it into a piece of Emmentaler chees. (with the according holes.) Yesterday afternoon I finished the paintwork and stuck on the holes (vinyl) Yesterday evening I wanted to put the helmet back together. When I pushed in the tempex "inner-helmet" it broke in two... Damn! All that work for nothing, 300 Euro down the drain and now I have to look for a new helmet. And that has to be today, because spring has arrived in Holland (sunny and between 15 and 20 °C) Now that's off my chest, I can go to the bike shop and fit some helmets. "Seattle, thank you for listening"
  18. My list: 1. MG V11 LM 2001 red/gray 2. Vincent Black Shadow (no explanation needed) 3. BSA DBD 34 Goldstar (IMO the only true café racer) 4. Van Veen OCR 1000 (because the name sounds like a Xerox machine ) 5. Britten (because of the David - Goliath story behind it) 6. Yamaha RD 350 LC (inspired by Dutch race heroes Jack Middelburg and Boet van Dulmen) 7. MGS01 (it would be in 2nd place if there had been a Strada version) 8. Brough Superior SS100 (brute pre-war power) 9. Ducati Mike Hailwood Replica (I even have it as a scale model!) 10. Kreidler RMC 50 (my dreambike when I was 16) I have actually ridden only 2, so this list is veeerrryyy subjective!

    sage advice

    Switching grips.

I have foam grips, the OEM ones were too uncomfortable.
  21. There isn't much interior in the OEM crossover. My guess is that it won't do much.
  22. What's this Antonio? A bit jealous? Everyone is allowed to read and write! The site's target group is of course The V11 Rider and everyone who owns and/or likes "fast" Guzzis, like the Sport1100s, Daytonas, Ghezzi&Brians, MGSs, etc.
  23. Doesn't fit the V11. Only 5 rotor holes.
  24. I think Paul and Tikkanen are talking about the paddock stand, not about the center stand.
