Picked the bike up yesterday in my van and now it's waiting for the salt on the roads to disappear and the temperature to go up... As I bought the 1200 Sport for touring purposes I tried to mount my Oxford saddle bags. Fit w/o a problem, with the velcro straps under the saddle... No hard cases for me.

Sorry Ratchet, but your reply exceeds my intellectual capacities and furthermore it's in English. Reading, let alone understanding, most of your posts takes way too much time and effort... I gave up a few years ago already.

I just don't ride on dusty roads... and the bike runs so much smoother with pods and aftermarket exhausts. And I oil the pods regurlarly off course. but... YMMV (always wanted to use that one)

Although I really appreciate the sentiment of Ratchet's post and think of it as non-inflammatory, I fear where this thread will be going... I will maintain a short leash, I hope you'll understand.

I've had them on my V11 too for a year or so. Very nice and they work...

Actually, these bicycles are a big hit in Holland at the moment. In the beginning only for the elderly, but they are now "accepted" even for young people. But they don't make the world greener, because most of the times they are not used to replace commuting cars. Young people buy them because they are lazy... You even see young people in special 45 km/h cars (meant for the disabled). It's considered cool.

BFG, I think I now what you mean, the Guzzi lump isn't really modern day, is it...? Basically, I'm keeping the bike as it is, but with clipons and a different seat section. So no classic aluminium tank, Roadholder forks and other typical Ace Cafe stuff... Don't get me wrong, I really like these kind of bikes, but imo they have to be British, not Italian.

Maintaining one site with a few hundred crazy members is more than enough, thank you!

That's the plan... And according to Antonio riding 2-up is much more comfortable than on the V11.

Sorry guys, I did it... Last week I bought myself a black 1200 Sport 2V. The dutch importer wanted to get rid of the 2008 stock and we're offering '08 1200 Sports with a staggering € 3.300,- discount! I'm going to pick it up sometime next week. FWIW, I'm keeping the V11 and plan to turn it into a modern day cafe racer, keeping the V11 looks.

Hubert, I see what you mean, and I agree with some of your points, especially about the intolerable or unwanted content. But If I really want to run a tight ship like World-of-Guzzi or V11Sport.de, I have to put in much more time than I want to, and I guess the same goes for the other mods. I really like the "laissez faire" style on V11LeMans. And when people really get upset, they should first contact the offender off-board, and when the offender still behaves like an ignorant pig, a moderator can be contacted to offer a solution. I only close/delete threads when it really is necessary. And the moderators can do the same without consulting me. Now stop whining and start a new thread on the election!
