    MSG\01...When?

Inasmuch as they are 3 years late in production and despite the fact that many have put down deposits but have yet to deliver 0,(nyet!)Only 3 have been made public and the mold for the cylinder head was broken years ago, i'll say it again-I'll believe it when I see it! In the meantime legislation is clamping down on emissions which means air cooled engines are dinosaurs as of 2006, why would Guzzi bankroll a "white elephant"? If any proud owner actually receives an MGS01 please post photo with self and cycle.

Hey Jim-did you read the technical topics where it is stated that M-G has only a few 4 valve motors and possibly will not be able to release the 50 it intended to build. If it's true Guiseppe stated that a cardan shaft/air cooled engine is not competetive in racing then homologation for racing purposes is likely not to happen. I hope for you this is not the case.

If the powers that be know what's good for us then why is the world so f__cked up? Ever seen a country run by a "common man", not likely. The president of our country has never even had the miserable experience of applying for a job, even when he was a teenager(talk about silver spoon!)
  7. I too like the idea of a synthetic oil, however the Amsoil has included PTFE(teflon)which was determined to be the cause of the aircrafts engine failure. Likewise there was an advisory against using Amsoil in air cooled recips.
  8. I recall an FAA advisory dealing with Slick 50 which was found to cause a number of small aircraft to have engine seizure. Not advisable in reciprocating air cooled engines.

Yeah jrt-that's where my shop's located, eat there about 3 times a week, even if I'm not hungry! Do the Sheriff Montague nachos and the Doc's caldo-leave with your nose and eyes runnin'! Funny thing is the waitresses don't speak any english 'cept YES...I like that in a woman-how about you? Yeah the name is Rogelios but it sounds the way you spelled it.

    MSG\01...When?

Yeah-that's a yuppie hangout-a place to been seen at, you can do better but ya' gotta get to the other side of the river....ya' see us South Austinites call anything north of the river "South Dallas" and avoid it like the plague. Look me up next time you're in town and I'll show you how to feed yourself and save some money for drinkin' and partyin' later! Uh Helicopter Jim-check to see if those were HRC prepared 600 rr's bet'cha they were not, again I stress you'll be cryin' like a baby with shit in your diapers-check yers'!

Robbiekb-where was it that you ate in Austin that made you ill so I can avoid it? Did you have some bad Tex-Mex? Guess that's the new weight loss plan that's so popular here these days.

    MSG\01...When?

Robbiekb-there are only pre-owned Supertwins around anymore...occasionally one will pop up on "e"-bay but won't sell or hit the reserve. I do have the black on silver Supertwin up for sale, serial # 0004. PM me for more details if you're interested

Hey Alan-I know that Folgore, you bought that one at Laguna Seca 2 years ago from Arnold Barnhart..I was supposed to deliver it & the Pro Thunder race bike but had other commitments..the guys in Orange County had called me about 8 months ago looking for differential parts, did you recieve them? Sure is a pretty piece of machinery....check this out-it is for sale, the last of the Supertwins #0004

    MSG\01...When?

Let me get this straight-you previously mentioned racing a MGS-01 in Formula Extreme...that is where the CBR 600 RR's excelled this year, did they not? When you said BIG HP in a previous post you must've meant more than your 87 HP V-11 LeMans. What you meant was "more" HP if I'm not correct. You also said that a 600 RR would have a problem running with you-that I do not believe, unless your dreams count. No one said racing on the track...there's plenty of room on the public roads to have gravel thrown upon your dream bike!

    MSG\01...When?

Jim-then don't talk about HP numbers...and yes I do get it..you don't! Look why don't you go and purchase a Britten V1000,they only cost upwards of $150,000.00 and then you might have a chance of swatting off a horde of Honda CBR600 RR's and still have a "rare"(only 10 manufactured)cycle. Owning a cycle with low production numbers doesn't insure you that you're gonna kick anyones ass on the tarmac or that you have the skill level to kick ass on the tarmac. Sure would make you cry when you lose the front end trying to keep up with a punk ass kid on a Japper! But I appreciate your ability in trying to convince us that you could!

    MSG\01...When?

Dreamers-ya' gotta love 'em....but sometime ya' gotta pull your head outa yer arse and smell reality!!! I'm fortunate that I get to ride the new machinery and get to form an opinion based on "seat of the pants" practicality. If ya' wanna go fast-go fast . If ya' wanna spend alot of money and be embarrassed..spend alot and be embarrassed!

BIG horsepower is a relative term when associated with Moto Guzzi. Helicopter Jim,didn't you watch Ben Bostrom and Miguel Duhamel kick the fields ass with their Honda 600's in a field of 180 horsepower Yamaha R-1's at Daytona this year. The MGS-01 makes somewhere in the vicinity of 130 ponies(at best)which is nothing to sneeze at but when confronted with a kid on a properly tuned Honda 600RR you are gonna cry like a baby...trust me.

    MSG\01...When?

Ray-city park road has been widened and blacktopped to make way for the rich. You would not believe how it's filling in and those "great" twisties are being made more safe for the SUV owners. At the bottom of the hill there is a private(exclusive) subdivision which will have to get used to the sounds of cycles in June. Ski shores has gotten to be quite a valuable piece of property. Alas, one day it will be just a memory, remember it fondly..Austin is changing, not for the better.

    MSG\01...When?

Hey Tx-thanks for validation...glad I've got thick skin. Don't get me wrong, I too am transfixed on the styling and "extra" ponies the MGS01 offers......but it is not a superbike(read Ducati as in 916) and it will not be able to compete with these purpose built bikes. What it is is a faster Guzzi which is going to be expensive. I know few if any Guzzi owners who will lay out $25,000.00 US dollars to own much less race this bike and not get on the podium. Somthing along the lines of BOTT would be preferable, certainly not Formula Extreme...did anyone see how Ben Bostrom and Duhamel "mopped up" the field at Daytona on 600 cc Hondas, and this is in a field of 180 horsepower Yamaha R-1's. It would just be an embarrassment to the marque IMHO

    MSG\01...When?

Francesco-I make my living selling/repairing cycles, all makes and models. I've ridden just about every bike made including a Mondial Piega which is very rare indeed. I own somewhere between 12 or 13 cycles, some antique, some race etc. I have not ridden a Voxan, though I hope to someday. I elected to become a Ghezzi-Brian dealer in 2001 after I was approached by Moto Guzzii NA to sell" their" product. I was not impressed w/ the sales pitch nor the lack of support. The bikes were wrought with problems and getting reimbursed for warranty was damn near impossible. If you don't believe this ask your Guzzi dealer. Anyhow I liked the Supertwins and Furia because of the approach to engineering, this was long before Guiseppi Ghezzi was hired by Guzzi to develop the MGS01. The more I sold the more I realized this was going to be a collectors item as only 50 were made as of last year. 30 were sold here in the US where everyone want to have their personalized bike. That makes the Supertwin exceptionally rare if in numbers alone. I love Italian bikes and the soul engineered into them whether it be a Ducati,Guzzi,Mondial(which has a Honda powerplant)or Aermacchi. But again I stress, you cannot race a Guzzi against a Jap bike, it just won't stack up!

    MSG\01...When?

Francesco-you probably will be still riding your Tenni when you are old and not anything else,to YOU Guzzi may be the best bike. I didn't spend the extra $$ on a Supertwin by mistake, fool, to not have a Guzzi powered bike! As a matter of fact judging by the forum the problems associated w/the Moto Guzzi marque doesn't affect my Supertwin. Why? Better craftsmanship, better quality control, better attention to detail, need I go on? The quickest way to make a bike go faster is to liose the weight...70lbs, see if you can find where you could shed the weight on your Tenni...you won't. "Nuff said!

    MSG\01...When?

The problems we encountered were the expense of differential gearsets suited for the particular track, i.e Daytona and the fact that lesser displacement Japanese cycles blew by us like we were standing still due to aerodynamics. Go figure! Chain drive has it's advantages over shaft in that you can "mix up" gear combinations inexpensively as opposed to buying a number of differentials at ever increasing cost! Still the Pro-Thunder was a very powerful machine, indeed!
