  1. Thanks Mike for your posts...I wanted to post another photo of the stolen cycle in case anyone see/hears of one passing thru hands-

    Hmmmmm

I'm thinking the cost was @30.00 per side(dealer), but I'll check tomorrow. Parts Unlimited sold them until '02. Now, Sunstar represents Braking in the US which I will call tomorrow. Which compound were you interested in? The one I remember vaguely was something like LM15 or something to that.

Well, we are winding down on 2 rotors, 3 times as large as production rotors and noise(sound)emitted is a different frequency due to this. There's also 3 times as many cross drills so the, what we refer to as "normal",sound of say a Ducati brake "moan" is expanded as well. Yes, we could start a new thread on PERIMETER BRAKE NOISE but there's only 50 of us who could enter the discourse. Ghezzi-Brian Supertwins=50, aren't ya' glad? Jihem and Mike...you'll like this- Dyno shootout at local Harley dealership...dyno runs $10.00, regularly $60. Many H-D bikes clocking 65 horses @103mph(170kph)on a 4th gear "roll-on" so I throw down my 10 spot and hand them the keys. The techs begin to smile as the road speed hits 138mph(232kph)and the chassis dyno instruments read 87hp and 64 ft.lbs of torque @ 7800rpm. 2nd run was identical. Techs sat scratchin' their heads how a V-twin can spool up to 138(232kph)in 4th gear,no less, with less displacement. Gotta' lot of interesting comments from the Techs, positive vibrations! That was the best $10.00 I've ever spent!

I don't want to pop anyones' bubble but I have the last set of perimeter brake rotors made...bought 'em last month directly from Sunstar(brakings' distributor)& these were IT, they have no more and are no longer producing them. I was told Braking is coming up with a different type perimeter brake but will not fit the earlier wheels. Nice wheels tho'!
  5. Hey....those Brembos are the ones that came off of Michaels bike when the owner in Daytona swapped for the Oz wheels. Funny how things go round and round. Glad to hear you are able to ride...little at a time!
  6. Thanks Mike...that fruit's ripe for the pickin'! How ya' healin'? Seen Michaels' Supertwin since painted?
  7. Grab any Townes Van Zandt CD and you'll do fine!
  8. Just checkin' on you w/the situation we see on the weather...looks bad! You OK?
  9. Alright Mike....I would've picked the sport as well...using sound judgement!
  10. I've also heard that the 1000cc 4-valve engine is plentiful(if you've got $10,000)but it too has fallen to the euro 3. This is why you saw the "photo-op" of the Griso with the 4-valve last year and the street legal MGS-01 not produced. You would think Moto Guzzi would be ready to drop the price on the non compliant 4-valve engine but noooo, they want $10,000! I love MG's product but don't even try to understand their marketing.
  11. I will call about the body molds today and get more information for us!
  12. Got the word today that Moto Guzzi will not sell the twin spark motor to Ghezzi-Brian so that company has ceased to produce bikes and now only sells specialty products for the descriminating Guzzi owner. So...no more Supertwins,Kimera,Otto & Furia. If the body molds were up for sale, who's interested in purchasing them?
  13. Mike Stewart...hope you are recovering well. I'm with you on the Penton Jackpiner 175. Unfortunately as big as Texas is there's little room to ride, different than the "old days"!
  14. Jedionne68-The Brittens are the tits! My Webpage
  15. Thanx...found it shortly after posting last nite...well hidden!
  16. Mine says Marchesini on the front(perimeter wheel). The rear is Brembo
  17. Hey Staedler...where did you access the David Omer photo? Was it from the rally site or?
  18. Jedone...so it's you who purchased the "Pro-Thunder", I was asking Arnold who he sold it to and he replied...a guy down in SoCal. Funny also I was asking Greg Fields to ask Todd Eagen who eventually purchased it. That is a very cool bike and quite fast when it's right, too bad it's a total loss system and because the crank is "lopped" off no chance of a charging system so it could be converted for street use. So take it to the track and blow peoples mind with the authoritative exhaust note. People love that bike...we met people we would never have met in the pits at Daytona...most wanted the "underdog" to win in the 750 Supersport.
  19. AdamofKC-I know perimeter brake rotors are NOT adaptable to any rims other than Marchesini rims which were made for BRAKING rotors and calipers. You see BRAKING,MARCHESINI & PAIOLI all got in bed together for Ghezzi & Brians' Supertwin. You could purchase the calipers and rim/rotor from Motion Pro who represented Braking USA here in the states back in '02-'04 if you were a dealer for Parts Unlt'd, and adapt the calipers to your fork legs. List price on this "setup" was $2500.00 Axle size is important as they only list the wheel package for Asian bikes and Ducati(I'd bet on this one). Parts' Unlt'd no longer carries the perimeter braking wheel but I believe Motion Pro may. I have had to order my brakepads for the perimeter brake from them in the past.
  20. Robbiek-none more have been imported as manufacturing has all but ceased. Not that G&B is out of business, but very low production. We now are re-cycling them into new "er" hands as they become available. As far as Tonti framed cafe' bikes go, Jim Knaup is the man. He's located in Prescott,AZ and can turn that T-1 thru T-3 into a real collectible. Look him up at Encore Performance & Fabrication.
  21. Adam-we moved a few of these in the past 4 years New World Workshop
  22. Yes,I saw your bike by the Copa Italia...is it the V11 w/green tank? I had my Yamaha SR 540 parked outside the judging area. I didn't plan on staying overnite so I didn't purchase a wristband which would've allowed me to enter it into the judging. Great ride in the morning with cool air on Saturday, tho'. Got to talk with Mike Haven for a good long while over a coupla' beers. He wanted to know why I didn't bring the G-B Supertwin...I was too busy "swatting" people off the Yammy! I got chased down by the Luckenbach security for exceeding the speed limit when leaving on Saturday. They wuz' cool widdit! My fotopage
  23. No one mentioned the Yamaha RD 400 "Daytona". Mean little bugger could outrun just about anything 'til the Kawa H-2 750 came along. Dangerous shit but tons of fun!
  24. Hey Staedtler-sorry I missed you at the rally, was hoping to hook up and have a few beer...maybe next time!
