  1. Mine gets hung up on the rear cowling, the petcock and FPR get hung up on the airbox. Takes a little force.
  2. Sometimes when I see your guys' workspaces/garages I get a little jealous. My "shop" is also a very active cockroach hotel with bad lighting and not a flat area to speak of. Someday.....
  3. Awesome, thanks for the info.
  4. Wow JB, guess I didn't realize how much you could read from just looking at the plugs. I was in fact with wifey in tow looking for some place to eat stuck in traffic the night before I pulled my plugs. Impressive Also I'll give the bike a proper run then. Seeing as how it's doctor's orders... So you can really get an instant reading? I figured it was a general fueling/health check. See that's why I gotta ask I learn so much here.
  5. Hopefully this will show up never attached a photo like this. Sorry Jaap I never read the proper procedure. Anyway 800-1k mi. Little bit of stickiness on em. I always try to use ethanol free gas. I thought they looked ok maybe a little rich. Opinions?..... Sorry I can't figure out how to resize. No big deal.

    Damaged Goods

The $4300 is retail value w/ no damage. Bike will go for $1500-2000 is my guess.

if anyone out west is looking for some cheap good parts might be worth a look. http://www.copart.com/c2/homeSearch.html?_eventId=getLot&execution=e1s1&lotId=27308343&returnPage=SEARCH_RESULTS
  8. Possibly you're familiar with the Welsh artist, Ralph Steadman who does all the illustrations for Flying Dog brewery... Good stuff try the french farmhouse ale. I forget the name but it's tasty.
  9. Sweet! Thanks guys, I can't lie it does smell pretty good too!
  10. I didn't realize how many different gear oils Redline made. Anyway I bought this http://www.redlineoil.com/product.aspx?pid=112&pcid=13 I notice it says with "shockproof" instead of "heavy shockproof". Not trying to be overly cautious but, I know a lot of you guys swear by Redline gear oils.
  11. Yea, I'd try em for $10. Good point about the piston.
  12. Make's me wish I was back in MN riding 210, tell me you took that bridge over to 210?.
  13. My experience with Volar wasn't a good one. The o-ring chain for my VFR 800 lasted like 3,500 mi. and it should have been replaced after 2,500. I was extremely meticulous about cleaning and lubing too. Not that anyone is looking at replacing there chain on a V11...... But the brand sucks.
  14. uuuuh yeah, I've been watching this thread. Healthy Ground is a good ground.
  15. My Lemans didnt have a check valve in the tube. Guess I assumed it was in the crankcase. My tube looked original but who knows?? I'm the third owner.
  16. 4k miles? Wow docc u must be hard on them tires. i usually get 6-8 but not on as torquey of a bike as these. personally love mich. pr3s. thanks for the write up.

    funny story

Today I rode home about 15 miles in stop and go traffic.... in fourth gear! Gear selector came lose at the grooved spindle. Probably not a bad Idea to check out this bolt when you can. But it's also pretty sweet that I had no problem in stop and go, in fourth gear. Not many previous bikes I had would easi;y mange that!
  18. That's a beauty! Did they still have the chin pad on 03 models?
  19. If somebody wants my bad TPS let me know I probably wouldn't know what to look for. The numbers are ok. And also a brand new battery doesn't make much more but maybe 10 (longer) start attempts. They are small ones. Above I was asking about the P/0. How come the P/O collected 4 of these high priced parts? What is the actual price for one, 350 USD? If you want to share them you should know the price, at least Hubert Hubert I know how much Guzzi wants for one but here in the States we can get them from Harley dealers for around $40.
  20. unfortunately Hubert that is a brand new battery with those numbers.,,, Why do I have 4 TPSs? because the previous owner gave them all to me with the bike. Not sure what he was doing.... but if you need one let me know I'm down to three now.
  21. Think I found my problem. This is a good one. While I was hooking back up my "mystery" wire which is probably the wire that went to the reg. I had most everything off the bike including ECU. Apparently laying there with the pins exposed I had let some wire cuttings fall into the open ECU pins. Plugged it back up everything buttoned up and bike was barely running. I thought I might have bumped the TPS, so I reset it but was still barely running. Switched to a different TPS (po gave me four) discovered my wire clippings. Only because Kiwi_Roy's advice to check resistance on various points of the ECU. Then I discover that the TPS readings were off through the ECU (everything else ok). Switched TPS reset and I'm good to go!! But... now I'm not charging 12.5v at idle 12.8 and climbing at 3k RPM. Regulator?? Also I might have a dying clutch, seems to be slippin a little makes an awful clack when I open the throttle hard. Oh well. get to it when I can. Like my leaking timing cover and my gearbox leak....... It's never boring with these bikes. Of course I don't seem to help matters
  22. pump primes, starts (after some effort) and if I give it any revs it will either take off (rev up) or die. I'm going to try and take off my tank but I really can't see anything I had unplugged in the wiring diagram. It seemed like everything in the harness that was attacked by my bad wire was not that bad and looks like most of the wires were lighting or other things that shouldnt effect running. I unplugged my ECU but semms impossible to screw that up...... then again......
  23. Brand new battery, ditched the timing sensor o-ring... no change. Trying to see what I might've forgot under that tank. No fuel pressure reg. or anything?? I'm pretty confident my harness was good, but I'm a have to take a looksee.... trying to remain patient..
  24. magic smoke machine... haha Originally it was one it was just the insulation was melted.
  25. I was pretty cautious about reconnecting everything.... But hopefully back in the right harness.... I might have to dip into retirement to make this right with all the help I'm getting.....
