  1. Hmm, I bought the top triple off of this bike.....I considered the fairing but it looks cracked and they want way too much money for it. https://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=20512
  2. Having just converted my sport to handlebars, I did have to adjust the routing of the stock cable a little bit (it now runs behind the forks) and the adjustment screw assembly at the grip now hangs below the bars. I think a rerouting of the cable will help, and if not, it is a standard cable with standard ends, so should be possible to find one slightly longer. You will have to remove it to see how long the housing is, and how long the cable is.
  3. Well, I ordered one from Moto International, but it took them 2 months to determine it actually wasn't available, so I got one from Don at Motiv Cycle Works. Not that easy to install, there's a lot of crap in there to work around. But it's in, one less thing to worry about. I may be imagining it, but my Sport now has slightly less rear-end wiggle when hitting a bump while cornering.
  4. The vibrations seem fine, nothing notable, but haven't done a longer trip yet....riding LA>SFO (about 400 miles) soon, so that will be a good test. I had a lot of vibration with the Woodcraft clip ons too, keeping the cylinders in balance (and the bike in good tune) helps a lot with that.
  5. The whole story is pretty scary. But I think Docc is the accepted record-holder for total mileage on a V11 Sport (& Variants), and an expert on very high mileage issues. Maybe even the record holder for Red-Suspender projects......
  6. This. It has too many "flakes" in the paint, buts it's fine. Bike isn't a garage queen. Maybe when I replace all the hydraulics at the next major service (they are getting old) I will repaint it with something closer......"It'll never be seen from a galloping horse" Looking at it now, the Puig fairing has an under-fold that echoes the fold in the tank, and the inside profile matches the profile of the instrument cluster. The shape is pretty good, looks almost like a stock fairing. Next up, new tires.....
  7. Converted to handlebars...! Bought a Cafe Sport triple off of Ebay, stripped and polished it, installed some Mika Metals risers and a Biltwell low-rise tracker handlebar (it was the lowest rise I could find). The bars are chrome-moly and not aluminum, which helps with the vibrations and allows me to use my existing Salamander bar-end weights. Careful re-routing of the hydraulics eliminated the need to get extended ones. The little bikini fairing is from Puig, which I rattle-can painted...not exact match but close enough. The result? Love Love Love it. My neck is really bad and I can't turn my head when using clip ons. This set up is much better and safer, too, as I do more head checks when it doesn't hurt like hell to do so...... I call it my "V11 Tuono"...it's a total hooligan machine.
  8. Nice walk through. I had to repair my gauges, the lightbulb socket had come loose and shorted against the housing. Symptoms were no tach light and no tail light.....
  9. That flyscreen has a Guzzi logo on it, but I don't think its original.....is it? Yeah, the fender is cool.
  10. Thanks, was able to lever them out. I am not going to try to reproduce the factory rubber mounted bars, but going to hard mount them. Here's the triple after stripping with Easy-Off, sandblasting and then sanding the top surface with an hand sander:
  11. Anyone ever taken this apart? I want to strip the paint. I have looked at the parts catalog diagram but hard to tell how it goes together, and want to avoid wrecking the rubber pieces if possible.
  12. For sale, as set, not parting out, 500.00/OBO + shipping
  13. Anybody have a "Close Enough" match paint they have used? Colorrite doesn't have it, and I don't want to go too deep into the weeds. Just want to paint a bikini fairing to match the rest of my Sport. Looking for a close match in a rattle can, in an easily available brand......any ideas?
  14. Is this the replacement that has a slightly different curve than the original TPS? I think that certain Harleys use it too?
  15. Chilaoing out in the heat...
  16. Check your coil to plug wires, remove and clean, may be corrosion in there. Could be bad coil, or water got into one of them through a crack. If the bike was sitting, could be clogged injectors due to old gas, some crud broke loose and clogged one injector. I would do this: 1. Drain and add fresh gas 2. Make sure the battery is good, and is fully charged. Weak batteries can cause symptoms that don't make sense. 3. Check coils and plug wires, clean and sand the contacts lightly with emery paper to remove any corrosion 4. Pour in some Redline Si-1 fuel system cleaner. 5. If you can get it running on both cylinders, do "Italian Tune Up" If none of these work, maybe do complete tune up: https://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19610&page=1 It is bad for any motor vehicles to sit around for too long without being used. It is usually bad gas and crud, but in your case might be bad/contaminated coil.
  17. That RPM range is just off idle, which makes me think it’s a ECU issue. The idea to check the sensors is a good one, but it also reminds me of Docc’s TPS issue. The cough comes at the same point every time, right off idle. Since it idles and runs well otherwise, check the ECU/sensors first and then measure the TPS as you rotate through the range to see if there is an issue. Docc can point you to the right thread for more info.....I know the TPS is supposed to be new, but I have had new parts (especially electronic ones) be bad.
  18. Want to mount handlebars, but don't want to drill out my stock triple. Unless I have to. Have one? Scud?

    Decent Tune-up

I would use 2-stroke oil instead of water, just in case it gets sucked into the engine.
  20. Make sure there are no exhaust leaks, they can cause coughing as well...loosen and re-tighten all connections.
  21. Thinking about getting this: https://www.stein-dinse.biz/Moto-Guzzi/Body-Windshield/Handlebar-fairings/Verkleidung-vorne-Cali-Alu-Titan-grau::60374.html#prettyPhoto It looks like the same fairing as a Sport/Scura. Maybe it's not. Does anyone know how the brackets work? Or is it a brace? Can someone post a photo of the inside of their fairing so I can understand it?
  22. A warped rotor would just pulse the lever when braking, not collapse it. Unless WAY out, which you would have noticed before. Well, if the rotor IS warped, and you bled the brakes when the rotor was at/near it's closest point to the caliper, than it could collapse the lever when it rotated and wobbled away from the caliper. If the rotor is warped, try bleeding when the warp is furthest from the caliper and see if that works. If so, than it indicates the rotor, not the hydraulics.
  23. Ug. I ran down to the garage in a panic to check. I see two large hex heads, one on each side. Are there two bolts, one per side? Anyways, mine are there. I cringe at the thought of riding without either one of them. Yikes.
