    M4 mufflers

I can certainly vouch for the mistral titaniums having a superb low rumble.
  2. Hi up, I was disassembling the front brake lever and a wee ball bearing pinged off into the ether. Can someone tell me where it came from? I looked at the exploded diagram in another topic but it's in dutch and the picture is indistinct...
  3. That's great guys, but apologies, i've not been clear enough. I do have a front triangle fitted that i scratched out myself, which is fine and is keeping my nice hp shock clean enough. It's the main bulk of the hugger- particularly the fact that the rear portion doesn't seem to extend backwards, and wrap around the wheel, enough to prevent road spray flicking up over the wasptail. Hmmm, let me find a pic of something... Here's an example, plus some eye-candy: http://www.airtech-streamlining.com/images/SUPERMONO_front.jpg
  4. I love riding my v11 too much not to ride her in inclement conditions. (Plus, gotta hone those skills eh?) As we all surely must know: The oe mudguard is utter pants. Road salts and dirt all over the wasp-tail, poor, poor shocker slathered in muck (if you don't have the trick, home-made triangle fitted). So, is there owt else that I can fit? I don't give a munky's if it looks rubbish- i want functionality dammit.
  5. Heh! So sorry doc but as i swapped blindly till it magically fixed, i cannot be certain. Stuff worked- lights and fuel primed when key turned, but no starter turnover. My koso clock has a voltage display setting that was reading around 11.3 ish so i pulled the battery and hooked it up to my optimate for a while. (Oddly, the koso disagrees with my multimeter so i'm unsure on that). Relay was a 5 pin gei unit. She's running like a top now though. Even stopped pinking so i am most pleased!
  6. Do the contacts just wear down over time or is it a speck of crap preventing good connection?
  7. Today I found out that a relay can *click* but still be faulty. I had just performed a valve adjust, replaced the plugs (again), reset the base tps (again), and charged the battery. Was feeling saucy so i drilled out the xorst baffles too. Went to start her up and .... *clik*, nowt. A few swappings of the relays brought her back to life and a timely find of a vid on youtube prompted me to check all my relays (plus all the spares i got off Harry Boyle). If anyone is interested, you can do this by attaching the relay to a spare battery, then use a multimeter to check for resistance across the circuit. It's a great tip as i had thought, in my leccy-naivety, that a click meant all was well. It don't. Oh and the mivvs, sans baffles, are appallingly loud. I spent all afternoon today pissing off the inhabitants of Sheffield by rorting about like a twat.
  8. I got my 04 ballbo with a spare set of iti clocks. All of which are broketty now. I think they're crapola.
  9. I'd open the units up- when my old ones went, and i opened them up, i found broken wires inside.
  10. Did you open the unit up at all?
  11. You'd think they were the same wouldn't you, just need a bolt to blank it off maybe.
  12. The guzzidiag thread on wg does seem very good... Its all new to me, inc the terminology, so i expect it'll sink in eventually. If i read it enough times.
  13. And yes- i've already got some gaskets on standby for a clearance check. It's about 8k miles since i last checked them.
  14. Cheers docc, i had a look at wg, a natter with my pal (who is a computational savvy person), and i'm starting to feel i might understand it at some point. In the future. But soon!
  15. Well tbh I'm just concerned for the bike. Although she is running quite well at the mo, the bike seems to be putting out more heat than before. Only change I've made is to install new silencers. I wondered if the lambda, or summat else, was interfering somehow. It was suggested that i get the vag cable and 'do the guzzidiag'. But this is all new territory for me.
  16. Ah, i forgot about wildguzzi, cheers fg i'll have a look.
  17. The mivv silencers i've fitted have resulted in seemingly quite a lot of engine heat. There is a mistral crossover, with lambda, installed too- could this be a problem? I've just got the necessary cables thru from lonelec but to say electrics isn't my strong point is an understatement. I've looked at the info available for guzzidiag etc and it may as well be written in Greek, Swahili, Double Dutch etc etc. Could someone be kind enough to point me in right direction and tell me "It'll be ok son, don't you worry." Big Ta
  18. It seems they were brought out at the same time as the 1200- same weight-ish, smaller displacement, had the 4v head. Spose once they put 4v heads in the 12 it was kinda redundant?
  19. You don't see 'em around much- however, I did happen upon one whilst stopping for a brew on the moffat run a ways back. Looked stock i think, apart from the cans and 'bars, and very nice... Almost as nice as my v11

Aye, me n the missus went a couple of years ago in February to escape the winter- best long weekend ever! Wandering around a stunningly beautiful city, scoffing tasty snax and enjoying being those foreigners that wear t-shirts when all the locals have their furry warms on. Haa!
  21. I eventually traced my rattle to the headlight... That too sounded like it was coming from the engine when riding.

    Cracked mivvs

Indeed, i didn't realise how loud they were till i was off the bike- this is with the killers in as well. i had the oe silencers on whilst waiting- eerily quiet but they do look good. I think mg got the design spot on. i'll pinch my neighbours gopro and attempt a running soundtrack at some point cos the mivvs really sing, absolutely lovely!
