Mine is a 2001 V11 Sport (a 'Greenie'). Does this problem affect my bike too? I'm approaching about 30,000 km. I also have no idea if the selector spring thing has been done. 

Am I riding a grenade ;-)

As far as I know, it only affects the specific models mentioned here:

Your greenie should have the double-plate clutch, which doesn't cause any problems at all.

Phil, I have read a lot of your comments about this issue but one thing I'm still uncertain about is why not reuse the original 6 spd clutch "button"? It seems like the preferred solution is to cut down the diameter of the clutch rod tip instead. Wouldn't replacing the button be easier and cheaper than machining the rod? What am I missing?

BTW, I can't find any instructions on MG's website about the "pushrod details". Do you have a link to that?

I put a RAM clutch in my Scura. Can't tell you part number, but was supplied by Agostinis to fit V11 Scura.

When RAM fitted, stock pushrod wouldn't operate the clutch. 

I replaced the centre button that came in kit, with centre button from the original Scura clutch.

Same pushrod. Worked fine.

The fitting instructions are in the images and most people machine the pushrod because they don't find out about the issue until the engine and gearbox are back in the frame I guess. Also the Scura came with the Guzzi single plate clutch std and most V11's came with the twin plate clutch with a different button.
