Small report. Yes l like her, she loves curves, very good seat, exelent suspensjon. Headlight actually good. Just spend 5days in Germany, like 2500km.

Handle bars a bit big to my liking, and wind screen to low for Autobahn, l'm 6.2. Do start her a lot in 1gear, but are a good friend with the tranny now. 233km in Road mapping, probably a bit more in Sport mode, nicer in towns in Road. 9800km, not a lot, but enough time to strech the rods. I never liked buoys on a bike, so travelling light.

Cheers Tom. 2dc763b376abde568255b77e638a1a0d.jpgcbe11b55b46d54c0c47b5ccef02b74f0.jpg

Are those exhaust/head guards a factory accessory, production upgrade, or custom aftermarket?
Not sure they add to the looks, but certainly better than a flat spot and scrapes on the pipe.

Not standard (picture from Moto Guzzi)

Moto Guzzi has an accessory along those lines. I can't tell from the photo if @Tomchri has it, or something else.

Acessory and ones I wouldnt fit in a million years. Better some header pipe heat shield damage than the cylinder head damaged. Here's what happens to a Dayton head with a 2 bolt head protector. Header pipe to head connectors like the Guzzi and Ducatis have are incredibly strong and robust and can take a beating without any issues.

Factory accessory. They are more exposed on an air cooled head. Anything happens, just get a new head  :rasta:.  Looks, oh well.

Cheers Tom.

I kinda agree with Phil. I would treat the header itself as the head guard. But that is me. Either way, sweet Guzzi Tomchri. I like it.

Feh, I'm far more likely to tip it over in the gravel parking lot at zero mph than to actually crash it. If I tip over, saved the pipes. If I crash it, I doubt the head guards will add much to the bill, and might save the pipe. And at least currently, the heads are available whereas Daytona heads, not so much.

To each their own. But my experience is that faster speeds don't mean less force to the head, in fact the opposite can be true. A crash at speed can be a nice smooth low side, in which case less force to the head is likely vs just falling over from vertical. But, as mentioned, to each their own. If you knew how you were going to crash perhaps a better choice would be not to crash....

Was kinda my point. Probably won't crash, will in all certainty tip over in a parking lot.
