Don't laugh, but I wouldn't count Max out either (as smooth riding is a GOOD thing at LS). A Hayden win would be great for the sport, but if I were a betting man... ...Rossi. Colin said at the end of the Assen race that he was riding at his limit to catch third and dialed it back a bit just to finish. Nicky is due and if he is ever going to make it Laguna will be the place. (local by makes good) But let's face it, with Valentino in the mix there will surely be a battle. supertwin1 Posted July 9, 2005 Share Posted July 9, 2005 My brother is an official with the AMA/FIM working the start/finish grid at Seca and today he calls me screaming into his cell phone "ya gotta hear these bikes" so I place the phone to my ear and heard exactly what I thouhgt I would hear upon my timely demise...pure ecstatic joyful noise!!! If I died tomorrow this is the sound I wanna hear passing thru the white light into the abyss. Now Nicky does have a chance in this fray, we've all seen him back the rear end around on turn 2, he does know this track well and is suits him well, but so does Colin! v50man Posted July 10, 2005 Author Share Posted July 10, 2005 Since I've nothing to do 'til the race starts, here's my twisted logic. Hayden has CONSISTENTLY been the fastest all weekend. He's confident and, I think, comfortable. Rossi is decidedly uncomfortable -- already making excuses -- and mentally preparing himself not to win. Biaggi is smooth and consistent, and I think these traits will serve him well a LS. Melandri's got his crashing out of the way, I think. He's probably the sport's post-Rossi star, and I just think he'll figure it out in time. These are probably more wishes than predictions, but I really believe Young Nicky can do it at LS. Also have a bad feeling about Rossi on this track. We'll see. It's going to be the best race so far because things are shaken up -- not going to plan -- and anything could happen. One half-hour 'til we find out... hmmm...
