  1. Productive day today, got the tank mount finished. Titanium bolts and bushes except for the top ones on the rubber mounts which I made from Ally. I used 18mm hex so I can hold it with a wrench when tightening up the mount bolts. I couldn't buy any hex Ti bar. The four lock nuts are just that lock nuts only. I tapped the vertical plates for the 4 6mm bolts. The whole thing is a bit as they say "component dense" but there you go. Battery holder fitted with ti bolts. Such a great material. Elastic, tough, light and weather resistant. Swing arm fitted. I removed the horrid huger nuts and used rubber blanks instead. Fully adjustable Wilbers shock. Better quality than an OEM Ohlins and cheaper as well. Swing arm other side. Ciao

  2. So I've heard. Outside of Oz, it sells swimmingly. That says nothing about Fosters, but an awful lot about their customers. As to the V85, I think they need Edelbrock to make some better looking valve covers for it.

  3. I was fairly certain that I was sent an invite by mistake, but they allowed me to hold the flashlight for Nick, do the dishes & load firewood. No body raised the issue so I stayed . For riding bikes it's a great part of the world, I was envious. Bill was & if Kathy allows, is, a generous host.

Keep those offers on the "extra" items coming ... Cheers! Gio Edit - asking price now $4,750 CDN (approx US$3,650) based on offers for some of the extra items

  5. I looked for a representative image of MGTD-III and settled on this one. Thanks, Bill, for hosting this event and sharing it with those of us who pine to be there . . .

  7. Since this little bike is selling so well, perhaps Piaggio can get us a real Guzzi with the performance and comfort that we expect?

  8. Rob, I bought an improved side plate for my bike, which has an eccentric adjuster and banana link that Phil mentioned above. See https://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?/topic/19547-v11-shift-improvement/ and https://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?/topic/18571-trying-to-fix-broken-shifter-spring/&do=findComment&comment=202283 You can buy one here: http://www.harpermoto.com/selector-kit-v11-973260900017.html It has the black semi gloss paint finish, but it is hidden by the starter so it doesn't matter much. Or you can have the one I take off my bike this winter, but that will be a couple of months away.

  9. If Guzzi profits increase - it provides wherewithal to invest in new Martini engined 2021 Le Man. It’s all good either way! Sourced: https://www.totalmotorcycle.com/piaggio-group-reports-significant-19-improvement-in-profits/

  10. Howdy from the top of Virginia. I recently hosted and survived “MGTD-III” [Moto Grappa Tech Days], an annual (at least has been for three years) event that brings together some Moto Guzzi owners -- including Nobleswood here -- to work, à la Tom Sawyer, on my Guzzis. And, while feminists may groan, it’s a “no wimmen allowed” gathering. Kathi goes elsewhere (this time to Erie) because why would she (or any other woman) hang around 15 guys who mostly get greasy from wrenching motorcycles, eat lots of bad food, drink beer and bourbon, belch, tell lies, snore loudly, and worse? I culled my bazzilion photos and cobbled those into a captioned slideshow of this past weekend. Yes, of course, too many, but that’s me. On the bright side, while best viewed in slideshow fashion, they first come up in “landscape collage,” meaning you can see all at once without going through them one by one. “Hover” your cursor over them to reveal captions. Here are the pix: MGTD-III Slideshow Bill P.S. Kathi is on her way back home and about 4 hours out. I better get back to “hiding the evidence” or the next party here will be my wake!

  11. There were a couple other images I considered, but there were too many uniforms and turn-out gear involved . . . I mean, there are those that may recall the SSR "lead bike" being passed on the right by >lights&sirens< I admit, I did not see (or hear) that coming . . . These things can get edgy, even with our best intentions . . .
