  3. I saw some pure copper commemorative coins about the size of a silver dollar for a dollar. Thought, "hmmm, I'm tired of fighting those stupid connections.. made a couple of angled brackets. Cheap. (Guzzi content)

  4. I'm pretty careful about that kind of stuff.. but I went out and got my modeling clay. Unfortunately, it's gone missing but it *appears* to have plenty of clearance. Plastic or not, pressure on those posts would not be a good thing..

  5. Little to no lateral play, no room for a washer, but now it's smooth with very little slop. Thanks for the input.

  6. Yeah, the tension on the pivot is adjusted with the bolt into the subframe so it moves freely, but without excessive play. Then the lock nut secures the pivot bolt position. Sometimes, it helps to add a shim between the shift lever and the subframe tab to get a smooth action without the lever twisting on the stroke. Part of tuning the external shift mechanism . . .

  7. Found the problem: the bolt threads into the sub frame, the nut is a lock nut to secure the bolt in place. Never mind, just learning.

  8. Well not really, the base is plastic. It's a very tight fit the base clearance on these things esp the first version of the seat on the early bikes. Any contact marks on the seat base? I might consider this mod myself if the clearance is there. Ciao

  11. Was a Great fan of the original GT's, ran three sets of them on my Z's, but, wanted to try something different. Since BMW & KTM chose the Metzeler M7rr for the S1000rr & Super Duke, I put Z8's on the work horse & M7rr's on the show pony. Loved the change so much, I put Z8's on the V11. With the soft rounded contour as opposed to the high crown of the GT's, transitioning right-left-right is so much smoother. Don't get me wrong, the GT's are an incredible tire....my MultiStrada customers won't use anything else. Just take a look at the Metzeler's. Similar profile to the Road 5's, but far better price point. Z8's lasting longer than the M7rr's, but that is to be expected.....IMHO...

  12. If they are going to produce something *New* there haven't been any sightings around Mandello and that would be a first. There are always shots of new models being road tasted near the factory. Having said that all design and development is probably done at Noale now so maybe people just aren't looking in the right place.....
