  2. You probably don't remember me whining that my car got broadsided from a gal playing with her phone, running a stop sign and hitting me in the right rear as I was exiting the intersection. It was in the shop for 3 months but is cosmetically and mechanically good to go.

  4. Someone got it before I could get there. That’s ok.. but there was a time I’d have paid good money for a Greenie.

  6. The dampers in the cush drive. There is a school of thought that says they work better if one drills a hole in the blocks. Sounds plausible enough, but I've not felt the need to try it.

  7. Funny, I stopped by that dealership today and the Scura is #270. I own #269.

  10. New info: Paul Minnaert replied in the german forum, that the one with the bullet connectors wont fit in a V11 without changing the connectors. They are apparently "standard size" bullet connectors, and not the slightly larger, odd sized connectors that someone mentioned here recently. @docc I think it was you that mentioned that issue, wasn't it?

  11. Well , there are good hop-ups and there are bad hop-ups. Which category would you put this in ?

  12. Oh i see...to make them more like Swiss cheese so they "flex" a bit? Interesting approach...never heard of that being applied to bushings before on a motorcycle or car. Seems like it would render the structure more unstable and prone to cracking, I suppose it depends on the size of the hole drilled into the rubber.

  13. If I recall, it was a hop-up job, and the individual found more important things to do. That was a few years ago.

  14. Then you obviously must buy it. Who has two with successive numbers, and when will the chance come up again?

  15. At that price, if it is that and more cost and effort to repair than it is worth, the rest of it would probably bring in the purchase price as parts. As long as one has the patience to wait for the buyers. And the "tranny leak" might also be the infamous breather hose from up near the steering head to the back end of the motor. When the back end of that goes, it can easily be mistaken for a leak on the input side of the gearbox. Definitely go and look at it.

  16. FWIW , if you have two AGM batteries , run jumper wires from the discharged to the charged battery and then charge both batteries . Trust me , I have revived some VERY dead batteries doing this.

  20. 12.84 volts The charging threshold for the Odyssey is 12.65v (85%). This is the point at which the AGM should be properly "conditioned." Asking our V11's flinky charging system to perform the heavy lifting of bringing back an Odyssey more deeply discharged is likely to lead to disappointments.

  21. Thanks guys. I did this just a couple of weeks ago. It looked overdue...

  22. Worth also checking the AC output of the two yellow stator wires to be certain the alternator is functioning before getting the regulator. Your Odyssey is about 50% at 12.5 volts. Follow the procedure in the "answer" post of the conditioning thread to bring it up with a proper external charger with over 6 amps (not a "trickle" charger).

  25. Someone just posted in the German forum about this. I thought it might possibly interest someone here. I'm very tempted to order a copy. https://shop.deeppurple.com/de/deep-purple/special-collections/made-in-japan/made-in-japan-2lp/0602475832362.html

  26. What makes even more sense is to remove the inlet manifold nipples and replace them with blanking screws. Store the nipples with your balancer. I mean how often do you do a TB balance? Certainly not enough to warrant carting them around permanently and messing about with rubber caps which are prone to degrading and leaking. Phil

  27. I recently got my drop-top coupé back from an extensive, fifteen week, repair. The absence caused me some interest in all of your comments and experiences. Just back from a weekend drive of nearly 200 miles/ 322km, I so enjoyed the engagement offered by the top-down experience. At times, a pungent aroma would fill the cabin and I would look about for the fresh-mown hay field; same sensory intensity crossing creeks and rivers on my way. Much like what we know of motorcycling. In fairness, I wore an earplug in the inboard ear for much of the trip as the buffeting can be annoying. Also, the option of top up and A/C is ever present and available. Yet, all-in-all, I always come away thinking (and I quote from the Clint Eastwood movie Gran Torino), "Ain't she sweet?"
