  1. Hi Guzziownr, Congrats with your new bike. I wish you many happy and troublefree miles on the road. BR Søren PS: I just love that 1000S - especially the black/green version. Gotta have one one day... Picture's nicked from Jan Biesel's homepage
  2. not_scooter_Scura, Good job! They all look fabulous but my vote goes to the red one...or maybe the green...wait a minute, blue is always nice.... I'm still having secret plans about painting my Scura baby blue with orange pinstripes (like the old Ford GT 40 Shell sponsored car), alternatively lime green to honour the almighty V7, but let's see what happens next Spring. Anyway, it turns out that quite a few people here are closet designers/photoshop gurus. How about creating a forum for virtual bikes? The only rule could be that there isn't any rules - everything is legal. Maybe Discovery will show some interest, when they get fed up with the Teutel familiy and their everlasting bitching at each other. Waddayouthink? Søren typos erased, sorry!
  3. Suzi Quattro..... She was every boy's wank idol #1 (sorry for my bluntness) I'm also looking forward to the new System Of A Down album - they're definitely not mainstream! Still struggling with tinitus after the last concert with Sepultura and Motörhead here in Copenhagen (double gig)...... Those guys rock big time! Judas Priest played last month or so but what a waiste of money. I was really looking forward to seeing the good old JP featuring the screamer of all screamers, Rob Hallford, but boy oh boy - he should give up his daytime job a hang up his microphone. Absolutely no guts, spirit, balls whatever. Slayer, Rammstein and mighty Motörhead are playing here in Denmark in July, so here we go again! Rock on Søren
  4. Hi Joe, sorry for chipping in late but both my sons are occupying our computers (high school, 2nd year, annual test). I had my tranny done here in March and after the recall it runs like a hot knife in cold butter. Really sad to hear that MGNA don't give a toss about you chaps across the pond. The only hiccup I faced was that the Danish importer, who had to do the work, managed to assemble the gear box incorrectly, which led to my local dealer had to pull the engine out again afterwards and fix the bloody thing properly. Hope to see you back on the road soon. Søren
  5. wonder about the 'Tow Bros' exhaust system.... Jeeezus, what a character - he should run for president next time.

    On The Road

Hi there, go for the full Monty. It may cost you an arm and a leg but it's worth every dime, trust me. Cheers Søren The pics disappear but chec out my web hotel:
  10. Hi Jerry, Congratulations with your Coppa Italia - it's a fine looking bike and I hope that you' ll enjoy many troublefree miles. Best regards Søren
  11. Hi again, thanks for all the support and yes, I may have been too focused on the bhp output compared to the torque. What we need is a lot of torque for overtaking cars and to be able to accelarate when some cager does something stupid right in front of us. I have tried to update the link to my webhotel so I do hope that everything is ok now. By the way, when I left work Thursday the Scura decided to call it a day. When I turned the ignition key it simply just turned stonedead. I changed the 15 amp fuse, checked all the rest of the fuses, gave the relays a good shake but all to no avail. I was a bit PO'ed so I called my mechanic and we had the bike towed in. Next day he called me and told that he had changed the fuse and presto: The old Goose was up and running again...... Do I have to say that I felt like a complete pratt? I don't know what the heck went wrong ´cause I changed the bloody fuse! The only feasible explanation must be that the spare fuse was broken too..... Søren Check the link again, please or this
  12. Hi ya, I got my Scura back last Friday after 4 months of hibernation due to a engine case paint warranty job. When I picked her up she had been fitted with all the goodies I bought from Mistral (see under my avatar for further info) and the bike had been Dyno tested. Unfortunately I was away when they ran the bike in the Dyno test center but boy oh boy, what a poor result: 75 bhp on the rear wheel in both 4th, 5th and 6th gear.... The only positive thing was the fine, linear torque curve, which is a major improvement compared to the stock set up. I had really hoped to get at least 90 bhp especially after previously having seen Jaap's result. Jaap and I have the same setup on our bikes so I cannot really understand how the final outcome can be so far away from each other. Bar that the bike runs and sounds great with the Mistral cans and the x-over system. It's too premature to say anything on petrol consumption as I have only managed to cover circa 300 km so far. You can see more pics here I only have a hardcopy of the Dyno chart but I'll try to get it scanned ASAP Cheers Søren

    Great to be Here

Hi Whart, Welcome in the gang and good luck Guzzi hunting. Søren
  14. Hej Stig, Velkommen, jeg tror du er den eneste nordmand, der er aktiv på denne site. Sorry for talking crypto, I'm back in English again. Regarding your morning starting routine my Scura acts exactly the same way. It takes a split second before the starter engine decides to wake up, so I wouldn't be worried. The temperatures here in Denamrk this morning was below 0, so I know how you feel. Welcome onboard! Søren PS: I'm still on the original battery
  15. One of my mates has a FJ which is close to 20 years old. He has only covered 25.000 km on it (15.000 miles) and it's still in mint condition. It's the white/champagne model he owns (I think it's the one with 16" front wheel but I'm not sure) We swopped bikes one day and I must say that the difference between a 2002 Guzzi and a mid-Eighties Japanese sports bike like the Yam FJ is like salt and pepper. First time I hit the corner I almost s..t my pants: The bike wouldn't turn! After a change of undies and a cup of coffe we found out that the tyre pressure was way below the recommended pressure and his bearings had gone south. After a little tinkering the bike went like a dream again. To cut a long story short I like the FJ. It's one the Japanese bikes that will, if not go down in history, then at least be a bike to be remembered. In the same league you'll find bikes like the CB 500/750 Honda's, the Yam XS 650 and the XS 1100, the Kwaks 900/1000 and the 350/500/750 two strokers, the Suzuki GS series as well as the GT 380/550/750 tea kettles. Just my thoughts on the FJ. Cheers Søren
  16. You get what you deserve. How stoooopid can you be? What a twat.... Søren
  17. Right on, bro! Nothing beats the deep roar from a V-twin and I don't give a toss whether it's British, Italian, Amerícan or from the land of the rising sun (one of the bikes on my all time hit list is the Honda VTR SP2 AKA "the gas gurgler") Søren PS: Really nice photos, Jaap and Paul. It seems like you two had a good time in Ledenon. Wish I could have been there. too.
  18. Hi Ken, What a day! You should have stayed home, for sure. I'm getting my Scura dyno'ed next week (at last!!). I had my engine back from the importer last Friday and Brian Fynbo, my mechanic at Italian Bike Store, put the engine back in the frame. But guess what? The w....rs at the importer's hadn't assembled the engine correctly which caused the engine couldn't turn! Only one thing to do: Get the engine out of the frame again and start all over again...am I impressed Søren
  19. .....cozy chap, that Dr. Shipman
  20. Hi again. Sorry for the delay but I finally managed to get in touch with somebody who could cough up with an answer. There are no more cabins available on the site. However, if you check the local tourist information office on www.visitaarhus.com they will be able to get you in contact with local B&B's. You can also call one of the locals who rent out apartments. Her name is Lissy Johansen, tlph +45 86 39 13 68. Give me a shout if you need any assistance. Søren
  21. Yup, please! Søren PS: Thanks for your efforts, Cnataloop

    ALARMMMMM

Sorry to hear that Jean Marc. I will post a warning on the Danish Moto Guzzi Club homepage. I keep my fingers crossed! Søren Just did it link
  23. These self proclaimed stunt riders driving like twats do more damage to average John Doe's like you and I as they are miscrediting all motorcyclists. On the recently held Copenhagen Bike Expo there was a stand where they showed a video of a bloke on a Duc 999, who did 299 kmp/h (the tachometer can't show any higher figures but you could hear the engine was still taking up the revs!) on the motorway here in Denmark. He was overtaking, splitting lanes, using the hardened shoulder and so on at this insane speed. Pointless to say that all the youngsters found it great and the old farts, which includes yours truly, looked in disbelief. People like him don't belong on the road. They should either head for the track or Martin B and his fellow police officers around the world should lock them away for good. Enough said. Søren
  24. Haven't forgot you, folks, but the person I'm after is away for Easter holiday. Will get an answer soon. Sorry about the inconvenience. Søren
