    Dog Love

As the owner of a slobbering, drooling beast I know exactly how you feel, Dave. I too had to put my old rottie, Samson, to sleep 5 years ago and there's no macho over you afterwards when you sit in your car with an empty leash. Luckily I still have Herman the German, who's sitting with his big fat head on my left thigh right now. Please accept my condolences and cheer up, mate. Søren PS: Tx, you're a sick man (but I really laughed my ass off )
  2. Yihah! Great shots, Jan. I'm glad that you have captured Holger Aue's bike, that's a rolling history book! For those of you who don't know Holger or the story about his bike I can inform you that his old Le Mans has close to 200.000 km on the meter, puts out an astonishing 110 (+) bhp and is used for racing as well as commuting. Holger Aue is also the progenitor of this well known picture: Jan, could you upload my OIT 2004 pics to World-of-Guzzi.de or make a link? Thanks in advance Søren

Hi Jan, Not bad, not bad at all! I like them both, especially the deep red colour. And those lovely Quat-D pipes... Cheers Søren
  4. Hi Tx, Heard the story before, but it's still amazing that he managed to get the bike up and running again! Cheers Søren

In case you have any queries give me a shout. Best regards Søren
  6. Hi Jim, Yep, actually I had some dirty plans with it, but my ever lovely wife twisted my arm on the back and forced me to buy a new bike. I have previously ridden a Harley and I guess she was fed up with spare parts lying all over the house, a fresh painted gas tank on her pillow and so on. You should see her face when she found the gas tank..... The Daytona is pretty nice, but it would take some rebuilding. I would opt for another fork, new rims, another seat and then, if I won in the national lottery, ship the engine to Dynotec in Germany for a severe overhaul. The price tag would probably come to the equivalence of a new Rosso Corsa, but I really like that 4-valve head - why in God's name didn't Mandello continue with it? Søren
  7. Blimey! Sound a bit scary - I just turned mine in for a repaint job! I must say however, that I have confidence in the job being done so far by my dealer here in Copenhagen Italian Bike Store and the bike is furthermore under warranty, so I can't really see, why I should be arsed by a DIY job. Good to hear though that there are some trusted dealerships around your neighbourhood. Good luck! (and also to myself, I suppose ) Søren
  8. Hi Lance, Ever considered an Oxford tankbag instead? Cheers Søren
  9. The Ostsee Italo Treffen coincided with Jaap's V11 event (10-12 September), which I originally signed up for. Unfortunately I had to fly to the States on Sunday 12th, so I didn't really see myself driving to The Netherlands on Friday and then return Saturday afternoon -a 1500-1600 km trip, roughly. Nonetheless, I had mentally prepared for a weekend trip, so I went to Kiel on Saturday instead as it's only a 900 (+) km return trip. The rally site is found on the shores of the Kieler canal in a forrest area and there's a very nice and friendly atmosphere. Furthermore it's dead cheap: how about a 6 Euro entrance fee? The only flipside was the piss, poor weather - it was raining cats and dogs like it would never stop! If you check this thread (in German only, unfortunately, but I guess that you Cloggies are fluent in that language ) it will lead you to the German MC club, which hosts the rally. The 2004 rally took place 10-12 September so I assume that this year's rally will take place within the same timeframe. Martin: I also fancy the Le Mans you mention - it was absolutely gorgeous. And yes, the Scura is mine. Glad for the positive responses Best regards Søren
  10. Hmm, it works fine here but anyway, please try again Ostsee Italo Treffen 2004 Søren
  11. Steve, Despite the sick traffic laws Norway is an absolutely gobsmacking beautiful country. The scenary is a lot like what you see in i.e. Canada with lots of mountains and fjords. The roads are all very well maintained so there's no excuse for not getting there. Oh well, Norway comes with a price tag: How about 200 Norwegian Kroner (equivalent to 35 US dollars!!!) for a pizza? That's the price for a normal size pizza in Oslo on the main street. True! Søren
  12. Ciao guys! I have finally managed to upload my pics from the Italo Bike Treffen 2004 in Kiel, Germany. Please checkout this link to my webshots and press "my photos" Enjoy! Søren PS: Pardon the sick comments to the pictures but I just couldn't resist. PPS: Hope it works now!
  13. I drink to that Antonio. Nothing beats Belgian beer - the best in the world! Trust me, I lived there for three years and I never even managed to get through half the brands they have. Strong, powerful and tasty. Skål! Søren
  14. That's bloody typical! My computer is down for a week due to a software failure and what happens? Another friggin' Dane invades this homepage Remember the viking days when we used to rape, plunder and pillage? Guess we haven't conquered anything since then, but we still have the memories. Oh, what the heck - welcome onboard Jens. You'll find this homepage very valuable in your search for all kind of tech topics and what have you. I'm also searching for the perfect exhaust pipe mods for my Scura so you're not alone. Best regards Søren PS: And don't bother about TX - we all try to keep him on a short leash
  15. Hi Goose, Welcome in the club of broken trannies - mine broke in 4th. As stated by Ken it's fixable; it took my mechanic a day to do the job. Good luck! Søren
  16. Hi Slug, I'm not a computer whizz kid myself, but I have previously seen Dave Laing refer to this site. I think Dave is the man to talk to. Dave, are you there? Stop eating and get back to work now! I've also been looking at various exhaust systems, but I haven't yet made up my mind. I'm having doubt whether I should go for the Quat-D or a FBF with X-over, airbox eliminator kit and a PC-III. I'll probably head for the latter as I want more power. Post the pics as soon as you're ready and good luck with the baaad Gooser Cheers Søren
  17. Pics guys, pics..... Søren
  18. ...and may I add a Merry Christmas too Best wishes Søren PS: And yes, the snow is falling!

    I did it

Grüss Gott und Servus! Welcome onboard, Cantaloop. I'll hope you will enjoy your new V11 as soon as snow disappears. Greetings Søren

    MSG\01...When?

Come on, Jim! Give it up. You're too old to believe in Santa, aren't you? Jokes aside I'll keep all my fingers crossed that you eventually will get your MGS this Christmas (Hurry up Santa! Jim is WAITING!!) Søren PS: Great pics, Paul
  21. From my Harley days I can only recommend The Tank Shop. I haven't purchased any products from them myself but I've seen many fine bikes at various rallies, predominantly with their petrol tanks. I personally like the old Manx look, like this Guzzi is trying to pretend. Alloy and carbon parts go fine hand in hand if you ask for my humble opinion. Cheers Søren
  22. I've heard stories from people flying Aeroflot that you'll get coffee served in plastic cups with teeth marks on'em from the previous customers...... In my NATO days (1993-1996) I travelled up to 120 days a year so I learned a lot about air line companies throughout the world. Flying THY (Turkish Airlines) is an experience that you'll have to experience yourselves. It doesn't matter whether you're in a "non smoking" section as everybody, no matter where they are seated, is lightning up their damned cigarettes (and we're talking the black Turkish tobacco here - no light stuff for the Turks, thank you!) as soon as the plane is up in the air. Furthermore they all applause, when the skipper puts the bird down again....thought it was his job, but who am I to tell?? SAS (Scandinavian) has by far the poorest luggage handling, at least here in Copenhagen. It's quite common that you'll have to stay put for 30 minutes or more before your luggage shows up. It's frigging annoying, when you have been travelling for half a day and the only thing you really want is to go back home to your wife and family. The list is endless and this is a motorcycle forum so I'll shut up now. I guess it's safer to take the bike - at least it's more fun! Can't wait for the bloody snow to disappear.. Søren PS: It seems to me that the video cut from Tex has been manipulated.

    Nearly a Guzzi

Hi Haiiro99 and welcome to the forum, Good luck with the soon to come V11 - I just turned mine in for 10.000 km inspection + hibernation for the winter Cheers Søren
  24. Hi Dave, Sorry to hear that. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Best regards Søren
  25. Jason and Dave, Thanks for your contributions - I think (??) it's decision time now and with Dave's comments fresh in mind I'll probably head for the Quat-D system. Speed limits in Denmark are 50/80/110 kmp/h (130 on some parts of the highway) so I think the Quat -D will do the trick as for better torque and power at low end RPM. I also favour the looks of the Quat over the Mistrals as everybody and his brother is riding with slip-on carbon fibre end cans here in Denmark. Thanks a bunch - I owe you a Regards Søren
