  1. Hi Al, Thanks for helping the blind to see. Motorcycle riders here in Denmark are all frenzy about PC III; if you haven't got one you may as well apply for the leading role in the next Jurassic Park movie (version IV, V??) D I do know that my Scura will never outpower any Japanese 600 cc bike but I'm still seeking a bit more grunt as well as horsepower. The easiest way (and cheapest, too) is to go on a slim-fast diet or follow the Atkins programme for the next two years but with Christmas coming up soon I won't advocate for that. Heck, I'm confused now, it's close to midnight here in Denmark so I'll sleep on it. Once again, Al, thanks for elaborating on the topic and sharing your thoughts! Cheers Søren

    Helmets

Hi Phil, Just my two cents: Yup, I love it. But as, i.e. Janusz states, it's all up to to you in the end. Does the helmet fit? Is there enough room for your glasses? (don't forget to check it!!!) and so on. Good luck! Søren
  3. Thanks Jason, nothing beats experience! I'm really in favour of other people's riding experiences rather than a written statement from the manufactorer - paper is grateful, unfortunately. Another alternative (cheap one, though) could be the standard Lafranconis (Scura) with a pair of KN filters and, maybe, a PC III? I'm a bit puzzled about the PC III. Is it the Eight Wonder of the World or is it just another gadget that has been succesfully launched by the manufactorer? If it's so bloody brilliant why isn't it standard equipment on all motorcycles throughout the world? Am I just and old fart who doesn't understand the latest trends and should be left barefooted and naked in my cave? (you don't have to respond to the latter, thank you! ) Regards Søren
  4. Hmm, sounds like the system is as noisy as a controlled fart at a family reunion? Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely not a big fan of 2" slash cut straight pipes as the Harley people seem to love so much. To me there's a distinction between sound and noise and there's absolutely no reason to go down the street with a 110 db exhaust system that will draw every police officer's attention from miles away. What I prefer is the deep gutural roarrrrr......... Søren
  5. Hi Al, I received this info from Ghezzi & Brian regarding the Quat-D exhaust system. I must say, that I like the looks of the GB system, but I'll always prefer function over form, if you know what I mean. There's no real reason to add a system that doesn't improve neither torque nor power as someone previously stated in another thread. On the other hand if both Paul Minnaert and the Dynotec chaps use the system on their Daytonas it should be possible to squeeze some additional ponies out of the old slagger I'm standing in the middle of the stream: Should I go for the Quat-D or the Mistrals with Stucchi X-over? I'm well aware that both systems require a PC III and a pair of KN filters. The Quat system will set you back 640 Euros, I assume that the Mistrals and X-over will be slightly more expensive (but I want some ponies, geddit?) 6. Yep, I'll vote for that, too. I had 3 weeks of beautyful sun in Luberon this summer (near the Mount Ventoux) and the scenary down there is second to none. The locals drive like they've stolen both motorcycles and drivers licence. It's amazing how they drive on the narrow roads on their super motards, preferably KTM Can't really complain about the food and the wine either... Søren
  7. Hi Andy, Yup, sure it does. Thanks! Søren
  8. Well Ken, why not run a poll? I think it would be great if we all could see what everybody was riding. I'm still on BT 020 but I'm not overwhelmly impressed. Søren
  9. Yup Ken, united we stand. I've previously tried to call all V11 ownes but to to no avail. Wake up chaps. It's time to unite! Søren
  10. Hello folks, I found this thread on the Danish Guzzi Club homepage. Before you spam me down I'm well aware this is a V11 homepage, but it's always fun to read (at least I think so) other people's trip reports. Heck, you may even be able to persuade CINCHOUSE that you just have to get those Oxford bags you've been asking for for the last month or so. Enjoy Søren
  11. Hi PAul, I'll just echo what TX and Al have already said. It's great that people like yourself can create such a beautyful triple tree. The remainder, like myself , we can only sit back and watch the maestro at work. As Al says: "I wish I had time, money, and access to a machine shop like that". I will take a step further and add "I wish I had the skills". Going down memory lane I remember my Hardley Dangerous days, where I always had to turn to my friends who were certified welders, mechanics and so on, 'cos I didn't want to buy any of the bolt-on stuff, that companies like Zodiac, Custom Chrome etc. had to offer. It was more expensive yes, but also a greater satisfaction for me. I hate when you see a spitting image of your bike parked in front of every McDonald's in Copenhagen as you often see the dozens of Fireblades, R1's und so weiter. Good job! Søren
  12. Hi there, FYI I've copied this info from the Danish Guzzi Club homepage: ________________________________________________________________ Hello, this year we have build a new digital ignition, which replaces the MOTOPLAT-boxes or contacts. Look here regards Volker Sachse (Germany) __________________________________________________________________ Best regards Søren
  13. Hi Pete, Yes please! I'm hanging up my wheels soon, and I would love to have some "evidence" when I face my dealer. My clutch is still working fine, but the sound.... He keeps telling: "Well, you haven't the Ducati's" but I think that's a lot of bull. Thanks for all the tech tips you provide Søren
  14. Hi again David (Leafman), I've been away for the last couple of days, hence the late reply. Looking at the correspondance I can see, that RPHETTEPLACE has been doing a great job Regarding the fairing I paid in the vicinity of 2000 USD at my local dealer in Copenhagen, but it's worth every cent. If you PM me I can forward you some more pics of my Scura. Otherwise check the Gallery (see under V11 mods). Cheers Søren
  15. I managed to drop my Scura at the front of my gate when I was about to open it. Freaking embarassing, but nobody saw me That liltte f... up set me back a new spark plug + cover as well as the cosmetic damage on the rocker cover..... A crash thingie like the one showed is definitely worth every penny. Søren
  16. Sounds reasonable, Jason and I dare to say, that your hypothesis is right. The questions is, why don't MG take this general complaint seriously? It's a world wide phenomenon - it's not just happening in i.e. Germany, Sweden or the US. They can't just play deaf, dumb and blind - they have to face the music now! As a Scura owner myself I have this feeling that one day (not some day) my clutch will go South, too. How about a consolidated complain from this forum? United we stand, together we fall........ Søren
  17. Hi leafman, I ain't got a fairing up for grabs (in fact I don't have any ) but hopefully you'll find one soon. Until then you can have a look at my Scura Cheers Søren
  18. Riding two-up ia a pain in a certain part of the lower spine, especially for the passenger! My wife is 180 cm tall/5"9' and she wasn't too impressed. Taking my sons for a spin was even worse as they stand 192cm and 196cm tall! The high footpegs make it cumbersome for tall passengers - don't expect rides over one hour unless your pillion has sado-masochistic tendencies!! Søren
  19. What can I say but bollocks? A little tinkering to be done here during winter Good luck with the job Cheers Søren
  20. Tjenar' Göran, Thanks for the info - I've never heard of them before, but they are definitely worth a try. I'm not quite sure but don't you have a G&B exhaust on your limey-V11? I may be wrong but it just strucked my mind. BTW are you still on the road or are you already making snögubbar up in Luleå? Søren
  21. Hey Gooddog, That Quat-D exhaust system is actually a lot cheaper than the G&B version (640 Euro vs. 660Euro). Furthermore it seems to me that the Quat-D comes with pipes, brackets, gaskets and what have you (my Italian is a far from fluent - Antonio, where are you??). If the quality is up to speed this could be worth a try. Come on lurkers, anybody out there who has experience with this product??? Thanks in advance Søren PS: Thanks for the info!
  22. Hi Staedtler, I'm planning to have a go at the G&B letterbox-type exhaust sytem this winter, so I mailed them in order to get their price list(s). I'll forward the lists to you via email. Regarding the other company I'm as blind as you are, unfortunately. Happy hunting Søren
  23. In my army days I was working with a lot of Dutchmen. They always claimed "If it ain't Dutch, it ain't much....." Søren
