  1. Hey Joe, Definitely give us a call on the the cellphone if you can at 310 383 9161. Ingrid has a Ducati Paul Smart on order which, on cursory observation looks to be a cross between the MH900E and a MultiStrada to me. I'll be there with the V11.

    one step forward

Actually it's fairly common as the paint on my bike is coming off of the engine around the cylinder fins and of course the Clutch plate cover was the first to completely bubble off to the point where i just had it polished instead.
  3. ah man, foiled again, i wanted to see the vintage bike racing but we got held up down at motoguzziclassics ( slowpoke fiance takes forever to go anywhere) and we missed it when are you racing classic bikes again Todd?
  4. Hey All, So Mark just took care of my V11's oil & filter change, checked the valves, tightened everything up, replaced the plugs, re-adjusted my exhaust and basically got me all set for laguna seca in 2 weeks. What tremendous service ! Robbie
  5. despite all the scerwing around with mine for extra performance, the motor , gearbox etc have all been really top notch and reliable (touching wood). Now the finish of some of the parts has been naff on the other hand ....
  6. Ingrid and I are finally coming ou of the woodwork and will be going all 3 days. I even managed to scrounge parade lap tickets off of EBAY. Anyone else with a spine frame doing the parade lap ? Maybe we could do a cheese-fest-like V11 parade ? We don't have hotels booked so we're most likely SOL there but i am riding the bike up there! Robbie
  7. I am stunned that more people haven't said that number 3 would be the definitive girl out of the 4
  8. yes you can bounce off the limiter in 6th but in order to do it i was flat on the tank on a downhill stretch that was straight for a good couple of miles. At that speed and with my suspension settings i couldn't really read the speedometer to tell you what was indicated and to be honest i didnt really care i was a trifle busy at the time
  9. Very Cool !!! I keep managing to talk myself out of going to the MV dealer to go stare at them. Luckily all the Ago's seem to be old out so my wallet is a little bit safe for now
  10. oh yeah...i forgot windows is crap X11 BABY !!!
  11. ..i love my 2.3 mb connection heh does anyone have a link to where these can be purchased legally ? I'd kinda like to have the licensed versions
  12. I end up switching hers off usually so its a one way system **laughs**
  13. Ingrid and I use the Chatterbox. It works great from me to her, but i think with her voice being higher pitched, she has problems activating the voicemike
  14. yuppers, its a lot more agressive
  15. The Nero is an awesome bike, i testroad one in comparison to my own short wheelbase v11 and found it to be way more civilised heh on another note, why dont you look into the Ghezzi Brian's ? There's a few Supertwins around. (one in Austin , TX in particular that i am saving some cash up for). When you do the math, they dont really work out to be too much more than i've already spent heating up my standard V11. Robbie
  16. There's both a Coppa and a Nero , new, down in santa anna at OC triumph/Guzzi
  17. Thanks very much for the feedback guys, I apreciate it ! Heh on another note, can anyone who speaks Dutch (Jaap) tell me what the Dutch word for a "fairing" is ? I'm trying to track down a Green Magni fairing for my V11 and it looks like noone has them anymore and I wanted to try Teo Lammers just in case they had one or could get hold of one
  18. hmmm actually it might be moot as it doesnt look liek they make the 20 spoke in magnesium for guzzis yet....
  19. Hey all, I'm finally getting round to ordering my new wheels and suspension. I've heard some mutterings about magnesium wheels. Can anyone confirm or deny whether i'll be selling my soul to the devil and inviting a lot of trouble on myself if i go with the magnesium over the aluminium wheel for an intended use of the odd track day and mostly canyon carving ? Robbie (incidentally i'm goign to go with the 20 spoke design in bling bling gold to match up with the ohlins suspension that i'm going to put on)
  20. Sorry guys but Sete had the line on the corner and Rossi in this case used the old "Go Kart" manouver to push him off. He knew exactly what he was doing Personally although i admire his balls, there have to be some rules in racing or otherwise these guys are going to start getting seriously hurt. I'm kind of surprised that motogp hasn't stripped Rossi of the points to be honest, despite his obvious superiority, IMHO he stepped over the line on this particular occasion.
  21. I took my little brother to Glastonbury when I was 20 and he was 17. It's remarkably well policed, crowd controlled and we had a great time. I remember being really sunburned though so i'd pack some sunscreen Glastonbury is all about making money under the guise of alternatism so I wouldnt worry too much about security and safety issues. I think a weekend trip to London would be more risky
  22. Hey Zebulon, While you're at it with the explanation. I'm actually thinking about buying a 2002 Supertwin from a guy in Austin, Texas. Being that it has the 2valver in it, whats the best route to go to get more usable power (meaning i dont want to sacrifice torque and midrange for topend) Does Dynotec sell complete 4valve motors I could drop in ? Or do you recomend keeping the Ghezzi brian 2 valve supertwin because theyve already done engine work to it ? I'm interestedi n your opinion on this one Robbie

    My V11s pics...

I have a green goose too ! We should all plan on hitting the rock store sometime this spring. it's a ton of fun, especially when you get the machismo inducing high of blitzing a new Ducati 749R in the twisties on the way home (true story, the guy couldn't corner for toffee *grins*)

    Leak #4

bummer my oil has had it's share of oil leaks and it was stock from the factory so don't give up ! Heh if your first refusal bails on you with the v65c we'll still take it. I ordered Ingrid's Paul Smart on Thursday but it won't be here till November at the earliest. I have to go up to San Fran the week after next so we could pick it up then Robbie robbiekb@hotmail.com
  25. heehee looks like i stirred up a nest of "i do it this way" repies i must admit i'm probably more similar in style to what badmotogoozer describes. On the particular type of bend in question, at the speeds i'm doing i'd be off the cliff if i had the throttle closed incidentally i only ever really lock up the back wheel on right handers so i know it's pretty much me. For the most part i try to get my breaking out of the way, get into the right gear set my line and then lean the battleship into the turn keeping on with smooth applications of generous throttle it all works oh so beautifully until i get into a tight (10mph) right handed hairpin
