Decision about Marquez's penalty appeal has been suspended until further notice by the three judges panel. As it stands, until a ruling is made, he can race without having to do the DLLP.

I did not get an answer to my request for a price list; I was mainly interested in finding out the replacement cost for the tapered roller bearing of a CARC which they advertise on their web site. I was trying to find out what brand they used to replace the stock bearing. In our battle tanks, all the roller bearings came from TIMKEN; https://catalog.timken.com/Tapered-Roller-Bearing-Catalog/C/#

I did ask for their price list by email. They never replied; don't know if they just ignored me or if they have enough business to not read their electronic mail. I was told by another member who had some dealing with them? him? that the answers to his question came out somewhat arrogant and self-entitled.

I think a win remains the top objective. Like Zarco and his 11th time being second since he started in MotoGP. Now he is in for the victory, or nothing. But I don't think COTA is his playground of choice. On the other hand, Alex may get special advice from his brother who is undeniably the master of this track. Sadly, it seems the Japanese manufacturers are in the dog house. So who knows? Aprilia or KTM could also create a surprise. Maybe Jack Miller perhaps. Bagnaia being very sore from his misstep may also want to redeem himself.

While it is sad to have less pilots in an already depleted MotoGP grid, it gives a chance to someone else to shine. Who will it be this time? maybe Alex Marquez?
-
Neither will Bastianini; Stefan Bradl will replace Marquez at Honda, and Michele Pirro will replace "Bestia".
-
Marc Marquez on the Honda did the pole; using a tow ... His brother Alex said about the Honda: riding exactly in the same manner, with a Ducati you fight for a podium. With a Honda, you are fighting to get into the top 10 positions. If Marc Marquez leaves for KTM, I am afraid Honda may retire. Also, remember that one KTM MotoGP spot is held for Pedro Acosta. Who knows what could happen.

According to an Italian media, I think it is a TV channel, the appeal court decision will not come before COTA. Whatever the outcome, Marquez will most likely race at Austin. That, and the background noise that he could join KTM at the end of the season. We will see what happens.

I still like to read on paper, and I am subscribed to multiple magazines; I would like to suggest one which is exclusively dedicated to Moto Guzzi; all the articles are in both English and Italian. Published quarterly on qualitative paper. Here's a sample for your perusal. You can subscribe directly from their website. They also publish another Magazine exclusively dedicated to Ducati.

He was unable to serve the original sentence as ordered by the stewards, not because he did not want to, because he defaulted on personal injury. This is pretty much different. Max Biaggi ignored a black flag and was stripped from his win at the Catalunyan GP in 1998 after he refused to serve a "Stop and Go" for overtaking during a Yellow Flag. This was a clear denial to serve a penalty.

Another forlorn Guzzi owner looking for a V11 Le Mans Tenni
p6x replied to Guzzi 1947's topic in Wanted
https://www.vetrinamotori.it/moto-guzzi-v11-usata-mu839293/ This one seems like a good deal... only 15,000km. The dealer states it is like new. Here's the same listing directly from the dealer's website: https://www.lucianomoto.com/annunci-vendita/moto/moto-guzzi--v11-le-mans-tenni/2-0-0-72-11901-0 This dealer is located close to Turin in the North; a Tenni with less than 10k miles is certainly exceptional. The dealer offers a one year warranty that you can debate to get a rebate from the posted 12.5k EUR. Since its a dealership, he could probably help with the shipping to the USA. -
He cannot be judged twice for the same incident. They fumbled this one, it will serve as a lesson for the next time. In any case, he has not won his appeal just yet. There must be a lot of lobbying behind the scene. Similar to when Andrea Iannone appealed his sentence, he got an increased penalty. Although the fault was completely different.

To get back to the initial topic subject, it looks like Marc Marquez will win his appeal of the double long lap penalty carried forward to COTA. Independently of what I think of Marc Marquez, I agree with the decision (not yet confirmed though). The current MotoGP stewards panel has already proven their "competency" being opaque in their decision making; they certainly shot themselves in the foot by attempting to modify a penalty after it was officially issued. A lot of MM93 detractors will be upset, and this is understandable, but it would be unfair for that kind of decision to be adjusted after the fact; simply the stewards were amateurish. Nevertheless, I think it will be good to see what Ducati can do against him when racing in one of his stronghold. I look forward to it.

Indian FTR Sport / Moto Guzzi V11 Sport

It's all in what "decent" means to you.... -
Watches, clocks, and . . . sundials!

I am not sure if a house mainly built from wood would last as long as a Zeitwerk. Those watches are practically immortal. My house is subjected to Tornadoes, Hurricanes and what not. Of course, a sundial would be relevant here in Texas; however I can't wear my house on the wrist. -

Unless you purchase an A. Lange & Söhne; then the clock mechanism will never stop for several life times.... -
Indian FTR Sport / Moto Guzzi V11 Sport
p6x replied to Joe's topic in Special place for banter and conversation
It looks good, undeniably. My "Iron Works Supply" dealership has added Indian to its portfolio, so I have seen the FTR Sport close and personal. The dealership (in Pensacola), where I purchased my V11 also had freshly added "Indian" to their selection. If anything, there is some US interest to these. Unfortunately, for me, I can't get past the radiator. -
I find it "important" to provide a rationale for the sale. I always do. I also provide the reason why I purchased it in the first place. I did not sell many vehicles in the USA, but each time I did, the individuals who purchased them said knowing the why was determinant is picking the vehicle i was selling rather than alternatives. I also provide a binder with everything administrative and maintenance related since the vehicle's purchase. It does not change the fact that if anything can go wrong, it will, independently of how much scheduled or reliability centered maintenance you do. But at least, the candidate purchaser can verify you did your best to keep the vehicle in good shape. The "making room" is a cursed necessity that I know too well. I really would love to have room for another motorcycle, but I don't.

@docc I am still running the stock relays in mine, even if I carry spare ones. But I am seriously thinking to replace all these bullet connections with something more reliable. So far, the battery has not let me down, but I change them every three years. The strenuous Texas sun is taking its toll on everything exposed to UVs. Including the wire's isolation which becomes brittle with time. And my V11 is garaged at all times, unless I am riding it.

The Sprint race was ok; the GP race was a bit of a bore. Bez went away without too much of a trouble. We had to wait all the way until the end to get a little bit of suspense with Zarco's usual late recovery, but not enough to get to the front. Bagnaia slipped again on this one. So much for not making the old fashioned mistakes of last year. I was waiting for the Aprila boys to be protagonist, and.... nada! So, when Marquez is away, Ducati has a field day... Alex Marquez has just proven that it is all about the bike. At least Morbidelli had a chance to redeem himself and shove Quartararo's critics in his throat. Never criticize your mate it can bit you back.
