  1. No worries, i didnt expect an immediate response (but frequently get one here ) I love the idea of this 1100 Cali but am getting increasingly frustrated with it. The suspension is certainly not up to handling the bulk of this thing. Removing the screen does help but i do use it on highways sometimes. I think I have a choice here. make it as good as it can be and live with it or go back to what i know. I still want a Stelvio, not the new one. Or a V85TT if i cant find a good Stelvio. Thanks Guys, will let you know if i get enlightened..
  2. Thanks! Yes those steering head bearings were on my list too. I have checked them for play and notchiness and they seem to be good. I could try the loosening greasing and tightening but am keen not to add any issues. But i need to have a good methodical approach. I will do a thorough service fit new tyres and evaluate after that. I will record what happens here for anyone else comes looking for info
  3. Thanks GStallons i got all this tidied up a while ago and now its better, I found out the bike has suffered a rectifier connector issue at some point and been “hot wired”. I am gathering a new loom and other essentials to fix it properly.
  4. Thanks pressureangle, yes I have tried sitting forward, having a very light touch on the bars, being aware of any body inputs. Tried screen off (actually slightly improved) we tried panniers and no panniers. It is as you say airflow related but it struck me as strange that after servicing it didnt happen. My buddy found the same thing. After collecting from the service the bike was good.
  5. Hi all, I have a question for Pete, me and my mate both ride the same bike (on occasion) and both have the same handling issues. We are not mad men but do like to scoot along at a (making progress pace). We are trying to cure a stability problem with these bikes. Having a bit of flex down a bumpy road is ok by me and is a sign to settle down a bit but both of us are getting a weave at speeds above 130kph. Made worse when changing lanes on a highway or any gentle bends. Improvements are easily made with higher rear tyre pressures, my buddy has longer shocks and progressive fork springs. This helped for a while. I now have about 15mm of fork showing through the yokes. But here’s the thing, when i got the bike it came straight from a service from a well known guzzi guy in Italy. I didnt have any issues at that time. Do you know if there are any “tricks” to keeping these in top handling behaviour? also if anyone else has experience i would love to hear it. I have trawled through forums and cant bear to read one more post that its the rider thats at fault. It’s true, if i didnt ride it then there would no issues… thanks David
  6. Thats very cool 😎 and has some nice chassis design going on. Engine is a stressed member by the looks
  7. Having been through a couple of moves (divorce) and downsizing my garbage I can tell you it’s a revelation. I still have too much stuff but I am getting there. 1 rule to follow, if it’s useful or gives you pleasure then it stays. All else gets ejected. so I have 1 car 1 small house, 2 guzzis a Yamaha tmax and a Ducati 996.. oh and an Aprilia Tuono.. .
  8. Another rumour is Pedro Acosta to VR 46 on a Ducati. KTM will become Bataj not sure the race team will survive that.
  9. Finally changed the speedo cable, then rode it slow and fast to make sure it was ok 👍
  10. Thanks for posting this. Following along closely….
  11. I have a 996 sps and the V11 Coppa Itália. I Know exactly what you mean. I like my V11 more than the 996 (just) but that ducati is a whole other league. Effortlessly fast. I haven’t ridden a new panigale or any other latest crop of superbike, they must be ridiculous.
  12. Here is mine. I think its a universal tail tidy. Came with the bike, I adjusted it and put some super bright LED lights.
  13. I recently had a test on a v85tt and the new stelvio back to back. I preferred the v85, hardly any slower actually. The old stelvio however…. is loads of smiles too.
  14. Lovely to see this rescued. I will be following closely
  15. Thanks for saving me some money Phil.
