yes, bike runs well. went for a nice ride this past weekend, thanks for the comments. I have some valve cover gaskets I think and will start there. will investigate further. spray foot powder is a good tip!

I am finding myself cleaning crud off my bike regularly in a couple locations as it builds up and wonder what you all may think about it. I let it go for a bit to get some good pics for you to help diagnose. The black deposits near the exhaust pipe - both sides - I'm wondering if I can solve this by replacing the valve gaskets. Maybe there is a pin hole leak ? The second is on the grime that accumulates on the pork chop near shifter on the left side of the bike, fewer ideas about what might be causing this, could it just be road grime or maybe a small leak somewhere forward of it? Cant ID to see any obvious source.

yeah, my first impression of the first blurry image was a battery tender connector. which should trace easy back to battery - even if battery is not present.

I ended up buying a Hyperpro.

link on forum website under file sharing may need updating.. this has the 404 error https://thisoldtractor.com/gtbender/moto_guzzi_misc.htm#gtb_workshop_manuals___shop_manuals___service_manuals

I checked that first, unfortunately that link is a 404 error now phil. I put manual on google drive. https://drive.google.com/file/d/10iwyvDTA2vIf6Ow0iv-KbtAddE4_Wex0/view?usp=drive_link

easy replacement of clutch lever. took 5 minutes, did not see a puck or a little ball that might fall off. the end of the cable did have a round protrusion shaped like a ball that fit into the lever socket like an elbow joint. didnt seem like that ball could fall out. all set. I recognize the damn sure zip tie as a good idea after seeing how this is all put together.

stiffen up means I have to push down on lever a fair amount to get break to engage, a few inches, I'd like to push down less. no ball end on the damaged lever, repair seems simple enough. I saw something somewhere that there is a black plastic part inside the lever assemble somewhere. not finding it in the manual yet.

I broke my clutch lever , its shorter but still works. I actually like it shorter. But I am thinking it won't pass inspection. I ordered a replacement from mgcycle. Any advice on doing this repair? Should be pretty simple right? Also want to stiffen up / adjust my rear brake foot pedal.

Just wanted to close the loop on this thread. I purchased Quadtrax (silver) Lowered 1 inch from Knight Designs linked in the "An Easy Way to lower your footpegs" thread, cited above. Install was super simple.

After a 50 mile ride yesterday, I decided to bite the bullet and I ordered a pair of these. https://knightdesignllc.com/motorcycle-parts/moto-guzzi/2005/v11-cafe-bellagio-1100-2003-2005/1-inch-lowered-regular-width-foot-pegs/ FYI They only have the black (in either style) or the silver Quadtrax tread left in stock.

I bought the Woodcraft eccentric toe peg. The shifter on my V11 is a solid cast piece with a screw on the end, just to hold the rubber on probably. So the Woodcraft eccentric toe peg is incompatible. Is your shift lever stock or modified?
-
Thanks Phil, I literally just found it when I saw your reply!
-
thanks for all the suggestions. I'm going to see if I can find something like this, seems a simple fix. Or lower the peg on that side for starters. Anyone know where this toe end mod can be found?
-
Did you manufacture the toe end piece or buy it somewhere?
-
Hi, I got some new boots and the toe is thicker than my old pair, so its a bit of a strain to shift up. I'd like to raise the shift pedal upwards a bit but didn't see anything in the manual on how to accomplish this. Did not want to start mucking around with the shifter till I asked here. Thanks in advance for any advice. Mike

my 2000 v11 sport had aftermarket bar end mirrors on it, I found the bar end mirrors provided good rear view visibility but with some vibration, which I didn't like; but I also found they kept bumping into things particularly in the garage. I replaced them with rizoma mirrors and bar end weights.

is there a foot brake lever? think maybe but couldn't zoom in enough to confirm. would be interested in that if there is one, mine has a crack from PO.

This is my 3rd season on the v11 and my second season on the road 5 tires. I put around 2k miles per season. I didn't notice what I interpret as the rear suspension bottoming out till this year. It's a pretty shitty section of road. I have not checked the sags. Will look for that thread. I am more than 165 lbs, haven't weighed that since high school probably.

A record stretch of warm dry days this Fall in southern New England is making for some great commuting rides, though sunset is a bit to early for my taste. The ride is mostly on a secondary state road that is a favorite for weekend bikers. I don't see too many bikes in the mornings but do on the way home in the afternoons sometimes. One section near my home is under construction, stormwater drainage system install thru an area that occasionally floods, The road was in need of paving before the work started and now, numerous patches and it gets harder and harder to weave my way thru the less that smooth pavement. I notice my rear suspension feels like it bottoms out sometimes going maybe 20-25 mph. I increased the rear suspension setting but can't really tell if it helped much or not. Is this normal or is there something I can check to better evaluate if the rear shock needs replacement or some different tuning? Possibly a winter project I guess.
