  1. There is a V11 center stand for sale at Valley Moto Guzzi in Chilliwack ... the list price is high but I know he's going to put a bunch of Guzzi stuff on sale soon. Send me a PM and I'll pass a message along to Gord if anyone is interested. He has some other accessories as well.
  2. Dec 19 Newport Storm Rhode Island Blueberry Beer Coastal Extreme Brewing Company, Newport, Rhode Island I'm not really a big fan of fruit beers. There are some very tasty Belgium lambic beers and a good one is what I think of as a dessert beer. This would fit that category. It is a simple beer ... light malt, light hops and a light blueberry flavour as well. Not sweet and not overpowering. I doubt I would ever buy this beer but I can't say I didn't enjoy it either. Looking forward to some more stouts, porters and IPA's ..... fingers crossed! Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  3. Cream ale would be similar to a Boddingtons or Belhavens Best ........ I have seen some organic craft beer in the stores that is made on one of prince charles ranches or estates or whatever ..... for some reason I haven't gotten around to buying any .....
  4. Cream ales are an American style ale ... They are generally brewed to be light and refreshing with a straw to pale golden color ... the hop and malt flavours are usually subdued but there can be a little fruit flavour in the taste. The closest I can think of is a Scottish ale but that's not a perfect match. The cream term comes from the smoothness and mouth feel of the beer. I think that is from a combination of the malt and the carbonation .... not sure though. Searching I find that they get extended cold-conditioning after primary fermentation is complete. I would say they make a good session beer ......
  5. Dec 18 Cameron's Cream Ale Cameron's Brewing Company, Oakville, Ontario Cream ales tend to not age well and I was worried that this one would be off but I got a nice surprise with just how well it tasted!! This is as fine a cream ale as I've ever had .... Wow!!!! It has a nice smooth malt with that nice cream ale mouth feel and just a faint hint of caramel in the malt and a gentle balance of hops that leave a faint bitterness on the finish ..... but that won;t really last long as you will want another sip rather quickly!! 6. Cool project and cool pics to keep us all interested!! Thanks!
  7. Dec 17 Hedonism Red Ale Ruckus Brewing Company, Milford, New York Hmmmmmmm .... this beer was starting to go off. It was over-carbonated - possibly from a bit of bottle ferment - so when I opened it I lost 1/3 of the bottle from foam spewing out ..... and the taste is a little off so I m not going to rate this very high ..... but it was drinkable!! A bit like some Belgian malts with a bit of hop forward taste and definitely a hop finish. The finish is a bit bitter - possibly from being in the bottle too long - and the nose is a bit rough too .... a touch of mouldy hay maybe. I did finish it ..... 8. True .... but I hate to think what Ugo Chabugo and Mike Belcastro would do to them if they touched any of our bikes ......... last time they had to make adjustments to some goons .... well I had better not say.
  9. Never judge a beer by its label .... !! There are so many beers to choose from these days and so many styles .... I could do this for the rest of my life ..!!!
  10. OK .... tomorrow will be better!! This beer didn't inspire me enough!! I have tomorrow off so time to get creative!!
  11. Dec 16 Crosswind Pale Ale Lake of Bays Brewing Company, Baysville, Ontario A nice standard pale ale with not too heavy malt or hops but the malt is first on the taste and the hops stay subdued by the malt right to the finish without being completely un-noticed. This would be good session beer as it is light enough that 3 or 4 would go down nicely but full enough flavour that you wouldn't be tempted to over-indulge. 12. Mr. Falloon explains the origins as the motor designed by Ing Carcano in the late 50's as first a motor for his Fiat and that engine being the inspiration for the V700 motore. I say we tie them all at the ankles .... hang them upside down over a clothes line and let them sort it out!
  13. .... or just put a Figli dell'Anarchia! patch on the tank and let them ponder the consequences!!
  14. Yeah ..... I was having supper and I had to weigh the extra effort to go find some Guzzi content against drinking a 10% ale with some pasta and for that day it was an easy choice ..... but tonight? Hmmmmmmm ..... I'll try something different ...... but definitely Guzzi content! motowfo ..... I like the way yer thinking ....!!!!!
  15. Day 15 Hollow Point Quadruple Ale The Perfect Crime Brewing, Stratford, Connecticut This is quite a different ale .. a strong Belgian style with a rich fruity malt with a caramel sweetness and just a little bitterness .... the high alcohol offsets the sweetness more than the bitter. I wasn't sure how much I would like it at first but it got better with every sip!! I quite liked it with the pasta fazzoli .. it complimented the cheese quite well!! 16. You could have 3 beers each day ... then you could still have the full 24!!!!
  17. Day 14 Will this dream ever end .......? (Please .... noooooo....!!!) Nickel Brook Bolshevik Bastard Imperial Stout Better Bitters Brewing Co., Burlington, Ontario There are quite a few Russian Imperial stouts appearing on the market lately. They are a potent brew. This one is 8.5% and some are 10% or more ... This one is very consistent with the others I have tried .... rich, rich malt with a little dark chocolate and coffee flavours and also a bit of molasses. It doesn't sound that appealing but with the high alcohol it actually sharpens the flavour and makes it a sipping beer so the taste is something that gets more enjoyable as you pace yourself. I don't know if I would seek this one as I can find a similar one at my local supply store but I would certainly never refuse a drink such as this .... it is a great way to finish a quiet evening!! 18. I just used my temperature gun to check the temperatures of my beer fridge. I have a storage fridge in the garage that is at 38 deg F and my bar fridge which is 47 deg F. I reckon that when I crack a beer at 47 deg and swirl it for about five minutes it will be up in the 50's by the time I drink it. I will keep my gun out and see if I can measure the temperatures when I drink today's treasure (an imperial stout). I do like some IPA's a little bit chillier because sometimes they are so hoppy and the cooler temp closes the nose but that isn't how to truly enjoy them.
  19. There are cheaper zorst alternatives ..... http://youtu.be/MNAkwLpVYxs
  20. Day 13 Espresso Amber Ale Peak Organic Brewing Company, Portland, Maine When I think of Portland and craft beer .... I usually think of Portland, Oregon - not Maine. The east coasters have pulled out another great beer!! Espresso ....? YES ...... just enough to know it's there but it's not like a cold coffee taste. This is like taking a nice Italian coffee ..... pull that sharp finish out and put it in a nice bold malt with a fair hoppiness and you get a beer like this!! This is on my list of "where can I find this" beers!! The 6.8% makes this a nice ale to cap off a good meal and then settle down in the hot tub ...... what a great idea! Catch ya later!!! 21. Day 12 Half way there ....!!!! Cameron's Auburn Ale Cameron's Brewing Company, Oakville, Ontario Yet another fine ale ... much like a bitter with a rich red colour. The malt is strong enough to balance the bitter hops and leave a very nice bitter finish that fades to a malt finish. I'll be looking for this one again ....!! 22. Day 11 Newport Storm IPA (India Point Ale) Coastal Extreme Brewing Company, Newport, Rhode Island This is an east coast IPA and they are a nice change from the hop heavy west coast IPA's. This one has a very rich malt with the hops strong enough to match it but not overpower the malt. Both come through on the finish and in the nose as well. I have had a many east coast IPA's that just don't cut it ... too little of malt or hops or both .... but this one is one of the better ones ..... worthy of standing beside a west coast IPA and more than holding its own!!! 23. Day 10 My liver is still functioning and I have not yet spent a night in jail .... Truck Stop Honey Brown Ale. Back Forty Beer Company, Gadsden, Alabama I'm not a big fan of sweetened beers and unfortunately this one is not an exception. It is quite mild all round with mellow malt flavour and light hops. The honey doesn't do much to help in my opinion and although not flawed it has few redeeming qualities ( I tried it chilled - I let it warm up a bit and I tried it again - still so-so). But it is beer .......... so I drank it ....!! By the way .... where I come from - a truck stop honey is not something you take home ....!! Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  24. It was a struggle to get through the day but I have to say ......... I made it!!!!!! I'm OK and ready for another beer .... I mean day .....!!
