  1. I find it extremely difficult to get excited about the Breva.
  2. Remind me not to go riding with you guys. My first inclination was to ask if this guy was a Bike Courier? I think he showed some very good split second decision making.
  3. But what do you really think Brian? Ya norvern sheep shaggin, shandy drinkin, maypole dancin wanker Newcastle suck
  4. LOL! Funny how that very legal potter turns into a full on blat!
  5. Going for a ride. But on a Guzzi or some other big twins, a "ride" doesn't really describe it. Now on an inline 4 you could say, "I'm goin for a rip", "I'm goin for a tear" etc. We came to the consensus that a big twin (or single) needs it's own term. BLAT seemed to work. "Hoon" doesn't really fit though We may need some new terminology here. [bLAST?] A POUNDING?
  6. I just tried draft Heineken. To me it tastes a lot better than the bottled stuff. Good thirst quencher.
  7. The Welsh version has a sheep instead of a cow
  8. See if you can borrow a keg of Guinness? The Mick Doohan "interview" is worth a look also
  9. It's always good for a chuckle. This is the story that did it for me today, although there's other ones there that are equally funny. http://www.motogpnews.com/home.php?pageid=314
  10. I liked MD. Different than the usual movie. Re Long Way Round. Why the hell would you take an 1150GS?? Especially when you have a support crew that can haul some of your stuff If they had to stick to BMWs, then they should have taken the 650 PD. I've got the series on dvd and it's not bad. Of course I'll watch just about anything that deals with bikes.
  11. You broke me up with your reply to that old thread on BCSB with respect to the MGS01
  12. 2 hammers work really well. When all else fails, bring out the precision tools!!!!! Take one plastic hammer, put plastic head contacting the oil filter cover, take small ball peen and proceed to tap the plastic hammer. You will see the cover moving. Takes no more than 5 or 6 taps and then it's hand loose. For the oil filter itself, you can buy work gloves that have a rubberized palm and fingers on them to prevent slippage. They're made for handling wet stuff. Grip filter and turn. Easy peasy.

  14. SOLEX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think it was the first motorized street "bike" I ever rode. Was falling down in the dirt before that.
  15. Beautifull bike Jim!! Congrats!! We'll have to set up a local Guzzi only ride this year!! We'll lurk in the corners, waiting for Ducatis
  16. The restyled one, to me, isn't any uglier than a late model BMW RT. In fact, they look similar. Imagine an Italian manufacturer putting out a V-8. Let's say it's MV. Then imagine them hiring Ferrari to do the exhaust
  17. Thanks dlaing. My lean spot around 4500 rpm is back
  18. Just a guess, but if you have a suspension mechanic near you, he may have some seals etc to rebuild the stock one.
  19. I put a Michelin Pilot Sport on the front of my V11 and a major difference. The front end seems stuck to the pavement. The ride is not quite as plush though. I think it was a good trade off. My Bitubo doesn't leak and adjusting it on the fly is noticeable and convenient. In case anyone wonders if Bitubo is crap or not, Aprilia was using Bitubo suspension on their WSBikes when Corser was racing for them.
  20. My PCIII is obviously knackered. The V11 will barely start with the damn thing hooked up and will only run on 1 cylinder if it starts. Unhook the PC and all is fine. I found a slightly chafed wire on the PC and taped it up but it still won't work. I've also zeroed all the settings but to no avail. Anyone else had to send in their's for repair? I'm just wondering how much and how long it will take. It's not under warranty either.
  21. That guy must be from the Pacific Northwest. "Im a lumberjack and I'm okay...........
  22. RIP Umberto Sorry, didn't see this thread before I posted mine.
  23. Interesting. Any info you can pass on here or via PM with regards to residency for half the year, or permanently, would be appreciated. Every time I step foot in Mexico, I say aloud, "I'm home!!" There's something I can't put my finger on that makes me feel like I should be living there. GAWD!! I miss the Mexican seafood!!! Ceviche!! Snapper done over a fire!!! Then there's the Indian dishes done in open wood fired ovens
  24. Of all places? A friend sent me this. From the SV1000 site. http://www.sv1000.zyns.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11415
