  1. Why doesn't that Yorkie have a flat cap and whippet with him?
  2. The DIY thing applies to me unless I know that in the long run, it's gonna cost less and be a better job if I get a Mechanic to do it. I've seen firsthand the screw ups and extra time and money it costs for Mechanics to put right what a customer has done. As for parts. This forum is a great resource with info like Buell turn signals, Ducati levers etc. I won't however go scouring every bike shop for a lower price because so far my dealer has been good. I think, for their own good, at least in this area, Guzzi should do way more advertising. While kids are buying 600cc Japanese bikes that will do over 150mph, I think Guzzi should be marketing their 750 Breva as an entry level model. Do ads with kids on them etc. It seems a lot of kids are getting 600cc bikes as their first bikes so why not try to stylize some of Guzzis to appeal to them? Or make a concerted effort to go after the BMW customers?
  3. It's sold but thanks anyway. I took out the Capo yesterday. LMAO Man is that thing loud without the quiet cores in the Staintunes. Lovely engine though!! Comfy, top heavy but a change in handlebars and the quiet cores with a sprocket change would bring back some low end grunt. I could see putting on lots of miles on this bike. Very stabil and I didn't get any wind buffeting at all. Electric grips work so well I had to turn them off with summer gloves on. Mind you, it was warm out for this time of year. A Hooligan touring bike A very different v-twin. Sort of like my old RC51, SP1 for you Euros. Typical of Italian bikes, it has that certain something which makes me smile Anyone wanna buy an 02 R1???
  4. Try this........ http://www.airtech-streamlining.com/ I to would like to try the Duc fairing but am waiting for (YOU?? ) to do it first and let me know if it works I've got a black mini wind screen from a Buell Blast on my V11 right now. It looks good imo and helps but still isn't the ticket for all day rides.
  5. Joey Dunlop was an old fart. A lot of the top bike riders in the Dakar are well into thier late 40's. Does this mean there's hope for me????
  6. You lucky bastid!!! I'm jealous I thought MVs were not welcomed in Canuck Land???

    Another great DVD

That's when Men were Men "Fuel truck? Gimme a cig!!" We were there a week before the TT last year. Didn't see the races but got to ride around the course Definitely going back sometime.
  8. Where HP didnt matter much, the Quota surprised some sport bikes. I still got blown away by a guy on a hopped up Buell though

    Another great DVD

    WHAT?!?!?!? Why wasn't I informed???
  10. How much do you want for it??? It wasn't me last weekend who did a Flying W on his DRZ400 ........for a change
  11. Too similar to the V11. I wouldn't mind a used Quota again. Reliable as an axe. Simple to maintain and handled the logging roads with no problems A poor man's GS is what I called it, and running a Muzzy on a Guzzi sounded kinda cool as well I loved those Pirelli tires that were on the Quota.
  12. I like it and pending a ride on it, would be very interested in buying it.
  13. There's an 03 CapoNord for sale that has Staintunes and mapping on it, for a very good price. I was going to look at it today but even I can't justify buying it right now. Am I getting old or sensible?????????
  14. Stave Lake was great yesterday. Got 5 hours of dirt riding in. There's hardly any beach left because the water level is so high. We rode up one trail that gave us a view of the US border and further. Kenda Trackmasters work well in snow

Hard pack-big bike Mud- small bike Duke video is THE place to get some biking dvds. I'm trying to get some Irish road racing dvds at the moment. They seem to be scarce. The British Superbike Series from the little I've seen of it, is very competitive and the tracks are very nice too. http://www.duke-usa.com/
  18. All depends on money Nige. Dont think this year is in the cards but 06 may be

The Long Way Round isn't too bad either. It looks like they may have watered it down a bit so it appealed to everyone but there's some good stuff on it. The interplay between McGregor and Boorman is great. Some good footage of places that we'd not normally see too. Why they took 1150GSs is beyond me though. They attended a 2 day off road school in Wales and tried out the 650GS but stuck with the big bike They payed for it almost the whole trip.
  20. I finally got a chance to wash the grime off the KLX after almost 3 weeks of freezing temps.

I purchased the 2 dvd set too, by accident really. In Washington at a Guzzi shop and they had them on the counter It really is awesome to watch these guys at work.
  22. BUT.....Brian Robson has 73,000 kms on his LeMans which he rides just about every day and no sign of cracks etc. And they do salt the roads here also. And I guess I'm a "festerhead poofy" then cos I like my R1, not necessarily for all the power, which is fun but for the handling . I'm even thinking about getting an R6 the next time I want another sportbike because the HP is now up there with the older 1000cc machines. But, what lets me down on 600s is lack of torque. The R1 out torques the Guzzi and it does this at only around 6000 rpm.
