  1. LMAO! I bet you look really good on the Guzzi with all that glitter.
  2. Happy New Year everyone. On the west coast of Canada and it's approx 07:00 on New Years Eve here
  3. We were just visiting and unfortunately my wife couldnt get the time off for the TT. We were there the week previous to it. I did however get to ride an FZ1 (Fazer) around the course trying to keep up to it's owner on an MVAugusta Ballacraine's real name is Nige. He bought a Scura and owns a Hinckley Triumph with ray gun pipes. He posts on here occasionally and both he and Juan (MV owner) also post on Visordown if anyone ever puts up a motorcyle thread Gettting very rare these days. Glad to hear no speed limit imposed out of the towns there!!! WE WILL BE BACK!!
  4. According to Speed, they were outbid by OLN USA. Something tells me that Speed didnt try real hard. That link to the UKGSer site I posted makes me want a 950 Adventure even more
  5. Thanks Bruce. I did a week long dualsport ride with Warren Thaxter who I believe is connected to Connexx. Had a great time and just the thing to take away the February blues!!
  6. I can't prove it but I think that forum is being partially sponsored by Kawasaki USA and they don't want anyone to rock the boat.
  7. Just about any bike if ridden for the conditions, can be used. Up here, we have lots of single track trails with millions of trees. Plus muddy conditions sometimes. Not good for a heavy bike. Mexico however, has fairly wide open spaces and it doesnt really matter if you hit a cactus on a 1000 or a 250, it's gonna hurt!! 1 of the guys who was supposed to go to Baja this year has a KTM950 Adventure. Too bad he backed out because I wanted to hear about any reliability issues after he came back. If it can be proven to me that these 950s are reliable then I just may sell the R1 and buy one. The V11Sport however is staying!!!!!!!!
  8. I always take those terms as compliments
  9. WHAT?????????? Years of listening to rock didnt help. I must have lost most of it during 1 Deep Purple concert
  10. Anyone know off hand how much duty you pay for an imported bike from the USA that is less than 15 years old? I assume Customs converts the selling price of the bike to Canadian funds and then assesses duty on that conversion?
  11. And I thought I was the only one who liked the looks of the Centauro
  12. My carbon Mistrals seem to be getting louder
  13. Well as you probably know, anything is street legal in Mexico If you want, keep in touch and I'll let you know about the Copper Canyon trip. Some of the guys from the Oakland Club are going. We need them cos they're fluent in Spanish We're thinking of either shipping or trailering the bikes to San Diego this time. I've got a KLX400 so I don't really look forward to riding it from Vancouver BC to San Diego. If money and a good deal come my way, I'm going to try an pick up a used KLR650/DR650/XR650 or XR650L. A friend of mine picked up an Elephant for cheap recently and is fixing that up. We're also planning a trip to Florence Oregon in the spring for some sand dune action if you're interested.
  14. It's got it's good and bad points. I and some friends just got kicked off a dedicated Kawasaki forum. A thread was started (by none of us) showing a pic of a ZX-10R with a frame crack. The discussion turned into what the owner has responsibility to check and what is and isnt covered under warranty. While this was going on, a guy I bought frame sliders for my R1 sent me an email explaining that a buddy of his had the same crack in the same place on the same model of bike. Now, this guy manufactures frame sliders for some AMA superbike and supersport riders. He's probably in his late 40s and is by no means a blowhard. If he says his friend with the 10R did not abuse it, then I believe him. Apparently the crack on this particular bike was traced to a frame bolt that wasn't torqued up correctly and the resulting vibes cracked the frame. That's what the dealer thinks anyway. I posted Eric's url so people could verify with him. My, and some other friends posts were deleted. There was no swearing, porn or abuse in any of the deleted posts. To me, this is not a "forum". I reminded the Admin to look up the definition of forum. I and some others were then banned. If any of my bikes have problems that may occur to other owners then I want them to be made aware of it. Seems to me that a too many owners will not admit to problems with their bikes. I guess it's some kind of ego thing? But to get banned from a forum for it, is completely ridiculous. I'm on another forum where the Admin was a writer for Performance Bikes and now is employed by RIDE magazine. He lets just about anything go on his forum, including slagging of his own employers Now there's someone with a sense of humour and I enjoy the freedom it provides.
  15. Where do you live? Because Baja is supposed to be fun. Some friends of mine are going again this year. They're trailering their dualsport 650s to San Fran and meeting up with some guys from the Oakland club and then riding down to Cabo San Lucas and back. Leaving next Wednesday. I just can't afford it at the moment. There's tentative plans for a trip to Copper Canyon Mexico in October. I definitely want to make that one!! I wish I still had my Quota as it would be good for these trips.
  16. LOL!! It's too bad no one had a camera when a tree branch hit my nose last year. Blood everywhere Thought I had broken the honker. How many KMs you got on the beast now?
  17. This time of year is reserved for Dual Sporting for me Nothing like coming home and told by my Missus to disrobe outside because I'm wearing too much mud
  18. This is the first year we Canucks are not getting tv coverage of it I did find this, and if you scroll down you will see a 1000 Guzzi in the Dakar museum. http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.ph...16&pagenumber=1
  19. 1-1 wasn't it?? The ARSEnal players must have been drinking shandy before the game!
  20. Brian R. Your team is gonna go down big time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. I'm tired of working on bikes. It once was fun and in some cases more fun than riding them, but now, I wanna ride, so when I need a HP fix, out comes the R1. A helluva lot easier than tearing down an engine. To each his own though
  22. Women and the bike show? Tell 'em to stop by the DualSportBC booth and ask for Dirtybill
  23. Honda owners?
  24. Don't they sound lovely in undergrounds? btw, I just noticed this smiley. Coolest one on the web
  25. Cool I was at that shop last year. Do you happen to know Ballacraine from this site? I met him and his wife last year also. Shared a few pints
