    my ballabio

    It's bee- yoo - ti - ful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Is that a "fast by ferracci" emblem on stock cans? Methinks so. Yuck. But I, too, like the color scheme...
  4. You are correct. Not stock -- not at all.
  5. Gentlemen -- Again, you forget about the Quat-D. Remove the baffle and you've got a faster, better-sounding and (because of the better weight distribution) better handling bike. Somewhat pricey, but, hey -- it's only money!
  6. I, too, get the UFI filters from MG Cycle. Reasonable @ about 8 bucks. Not wanting to drop the pan at every oil change, I purchased (also from MG Cycle) the two-piece tool that makes removing and tightening the filter easy and simple. Never had a problem with a loose filter. I run the OEM UFI filters in both my Guzzis. They are beautifully constructed and do an extremely good job. While I'm notoriously cheap, I am anything but with my bikes. All (save the V50III because of tolerance issues) run on RedLine 20/50 -- Shockproof in the trannies. The Buell gets the same treatment, but I use the K&N oil filter on it (as I do my truck). My 2 cents...

    8v Griso review

Sounds like what my Centauro COULD and SHOULD have been. Worth a look. LOVE the white paint scheme...
  8. A dog with fleas. Ducati and Triumph got the retro thing right. Unremarkable -- and dull. Needs clip ons -- an attitude -- and a better color scheme. Could spell the end of Guzzi if they don't correct this camel.......... FF
  9. It's been the signature trick of "Blondie" here for over 30 years...
  10. So sad. He and Haga are (were) my favorite Japanese riders. Both had that kamikaze spirit and riding style -- something a mere mortal (coward) like myself could only dream of. He peaked way too early, but his memory will be sorely missed. I always kinda thought that if David Bowie were Japanese and a motorcycle racer, he would be Norick Abe. Weird thought, I know, but I think it every time I see a picture of this decidedly "Westernized" wisp of man. RIP
  11. Bub is an American exhaust company that mostly specializes in loud pipes for Harleys. They used to make pipes for Moto Guzzi, BMW and Bennelli (6 into 6!!!) as well. The "Bad Dogs" were "shorties" with only minimal internal baffling. I had a set on my Centauro, and they were as LOUD as anything I ever heard on a Guzzi. Quite beautiful music nonetheless. I LOVED them. I have seen pics of these pipes adapted to fit V11s on this site a while back. Anyway, I'm obviously WRONG in my guess. I'll even try to look ashamed...
  12. Methinks that sound could only be produced by a set of Bub Bad Dogs modified to fit the V11.

    Slug's Crash

Slug -- When I see pictures like the one of your bike, my heart sinks. So sorry. More importantly, ATGATT!!! I have grown slack of late -- heading out with jeans and jacket more than I care to admit. This is a wake up call for my sorry, cavalier ass! Main thing is, you're ok. Now, if I could just get MY V11 going again, I could give the Firebolt a rest and get back on the bike that really gets my heart racing... v50
  14. F**cking gorgeous! Congrats. This time next year maybe I'll be starting a similar thread with an 1125R. I just LOVE the RSVR, though. Be safe... v50
  15. Buell 1125r -- or a four-valve Griso? Decisions.....
  16. Boys -- No thanks. Like Nogbad, I bouight my Firebolt for its quirkiness. Those air scoops are UGLY -- and the exhaust looks too complex for the Alabama engineering that freed up my bike. Remember...
  17. When contrasted with one Ziggy Stardust, SPLHCB is utterly forgettable.... One man's (correct) opinion. I never met George Martin, but I have met Alice Cooper
  18. Not only is special dispensation granted -- but this MANLAW has officially been withdrawn. You see, I LOVE the burnt orange that is currently enjoying a surge in popularity. And the redneck that resides deep within me craves the Lime Green Charger! And, wasn't every other Capri in the 70s -- BROWN! Aside from this, the MANLAWS are essential to a healthy and honest life!!!!!!!!
  19. Am I the only one here who is underwhelmed? This bike offers nothing NEW or ORIGINAL. Even the green color is the wrong shade. Reminds me of those Godawful Tennis...
  20. the myspace page for my latest documentary film: http://www.myspace.com/rebelscumthemovie Yes, I am one twisted bastard......................
  21. Dave-- This is how you decide. First, slide your hand gently down the front of your trousers. If you feel something that resembles an oyster, then Mistrals are the pipes for you. If, on the other hand, you graze against something resembling, say, two peas and a maggot -- well, then, the MG high pipes will fit you liike a glove. If you come into contact with something more substantial than the aforementioned veggie/insect combo -- well, the Quat-Ds are the pipes for you. Happy to help... v50
  22. That's why America is God's country! Actually, it was 55 mph in a 25 mph zone. He just wrote it as 40 so he could give me a warning!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. So... I've been on the road for several months 'til a couple of weeks ago. Got re-acquainted with the V11 and was falling in love all over again -- riding to work 5 days in a row. The Buell was being neglected -- and it was oil change time -- so I rode it on a Saturday run to my studio to do some catch up work, the plan being to change the then-hot oil upon my return home. Upon my return to my neighborhood (which has some nice curvy roads), I foolishly decided that it would be fun to see just how fast I could go in a residential area. Within seconds, I heard the sirens. 55 in a 25 zone. Oops. The cop returns my license, then begins telling me about the several bikes he owns -- asking questions about the Buell. We talk shop -- I tell him about the Guzzi -- and he writes up a warning for going 40 in a 25 mph zone. No ticket. No points. He then actually followed me home (only about three blocks) and came down to the garage to check out the V11 -- which he loved! We talked for a half hour -- he invited me to test ride his new V-Rod anytimne I liked -- and that was that. I was guilty as guilty gets, but this cop -- a fellow enthusiast -- admitted to doing the same thing on his way to work that morning and simply asked that I take it easy in town. I will. A very lucky man am I.....
  24. Max won the first race -- Toseland second. Toseland won the second race -- Max second. Max was brilliant! I hope this boosts his confidence and he goes on to win it all! To the Roman Emperor
