  1. you could just try to buy a stock replacement thats not solid, shouldn't be too hard to find one, much cheaper, trust me you want the bar ends its like night and day.
  2. what kind of F'd up bars did they put on your bike? I've seen two types single piece hollow OEM bars and even 2 piece things which mine had, but with how far in the weights went it had plenty of room for the manics, I wonder where they found your bars, are you the original owner? Maybe the Original owner tried that fill in the bars to deaden the vibes method which doesn't work as well as just weights on the end.
  3. hollow tube fittings, you don't need to worry about the threads, doesn't appear to damage them and in fact holds the friction type locking device in better.
  4. yeah stopped working for me too, maybe that fixed it
  5. funny thing, I agreed with him on a lot of things but his delivery and persistence made me play devils advocate and eventually almost hate him.
  6. F that, I say CEO of piaggio tho, fix it, turn it around, or close it up.
  7. I should have made it a poll
  8. WHOA what? really? what bike do you have? I had no trouble making mine fit, measure your tube to see what size you need, there are only two sizes, do you have the threaded ends for the stock weights? Should be a really simple operation here no need to get new bars
  9. F that, make it the V8, why the F not? make it more like the rocket 3 tho so its not super impossible to work on but a real small V8 would be TITS
  10. he did what most passionate people do, he went too far(not just once, too often) and was removed. He was warned, warned, put on probation, warned and removed over the course of 2 years probably. I have a feeling he'll be back and I hope with a little less political extremist posts but if not I wish him good riding.
  11. Traitor, I hope you don't sleep til you get a replacement......and I hope you stay on this site.... I'll be looking for a replacement, I don't plan to go anywhere, this was the hardest thing I've ever done. I put so much time and effort and money, oh god the money,(not jaap levels of money mind you) It feels like I gave away one of my children I'm thinking it was too soon. I just have to not think about it.
  12. I sold it, and before she even left the driveway I regret doing it. I hope it gets easier with time.
  13. cause all my original body work isn't scratch or dent, Was just cheaper to get the new tank over painting the old one that way, it really was the new tank was $300 and thats cheap for a whole spankin new tank in a hard to duplicate color, its red indoors and metallic orange in the sun I spent years scouring the internet and bugging more experience owners from around the world on my upgrade quest(no where near the level Jaap undertook hats off to him) you can fit ALL kinds of things on these bikes if the tubes are the same diameter, I've seen several one-offs at least I think they were, my all time favs are the quatd cones but I haven't heard them in person.
  14. I've heard almost everything, FBF and Mistrals appear to be almost clones, I'm sure Mistral came first, MG TI cans are quieter but much nicer looking, the termi's I heard were raspier and louder than mistrals, stock is a ride on lawnmower kind of sound. Quat D's are quieter than I thought they would be I haven't heard them gutted in person but on video clips they sound mean. Did I mention My V11 is for sale, is this Aron looking for a bike? Mine is on craigslist if you want to see it, not hard to miss. People keep asking me why it has a red tank, I didn't drop it or crash it, I liked the damn tank/color so I put it on, I got all the damn original body work under my work bench.
  15. can we clone you and program that clone with all your knowledge, then sell those clones to each region of the globe, I have what appears to be a good guzzi dealer by me, and by me I mean its over an hour away at 70mph.
  16. it sure is an odd coincidence, has to be more than a coincidence.
  17. are all/most guzzistas left handed? ... maybe our sinister ways lead us to Guzzi
  18. I love my RSVR, I've gone on a 800mi ride over 2 days, ok maybe it was 750 but I plan to do the same mid september, I couldn't believe how comfortable it was on the long haul, great wind protection and overall quite comfy, my ONLY complaint was the heat on the backside gets to be too much after 2-3 hours in the saddle. I still ride my guzzi but I won't lie the aprilia has led me to list the Guzzi for sale, I'd like an all out cruiser to replace her but who knows if I'll do it right away or not. I can't see comparing a tuono to anything guzzi. I feel its like trying to compare a modern ferarri to a 70's muscle car. Either you get it, or you dont.
  19. that is way too old and beyond my comfort range, plus it doesn't have any bags.
  20. is that loop the Eldo you just sold? 2000's have slightly smaller red frames with tighter geometry and corner a tiny bit better and seem to have more relay problems, lots of 2002+ have black engine cases that flake off but don't effect performance its just paint if you don't care who cares? Some have speedo's and/or tachs go out but that is nothing new to guzzi, pretty rare, avoid the single plate clutch varieties unless its been replaced with a RAM clutch like the Scura and Rosso Mandello as they like to detonate inside their housing around what 20k? check for but don't be too surprised to see oil seepage as the timing belt cover seal looks like it lasts 10 years and starts to seep, mine is. Easy fix and not much of a concern you've owned older bikes you know how it goes. Check to make sure the rear shock isn't cracked at the top, seems to happen on the ones by the seas with salt getting in there and corroding it? 2002+ seem to have the pawl spring problem as they used the wrong spring from the factory from what I know only effects the 2002+ again, see aprilia took over in 2002 and things were a mess for a bit. Solid bikes that run forever but you already know this.
  21. foto, you should just get your convert running and trade me for your nice black EV, that BMW sticker would HAVE to go though, thats a deal breaker That or put it all back to stock and sell all the pieces I bet someone would want it more stock to make it their own, who knows.
  22. appears the trade is off before I could even get to see it, someone committed to buying it today, So his bike sold in under a week and I've only had 2 quasi interested parties in 2 months.
  23. I will be going to take it for a ride sometime soon, there are a plethora of bikes I'd like to get in the future one of which I really like is the rocket 3, maybe its the american in me that likes the big bad ass relaxed (british) bike but I also look at victory, BMW, and even other guzzi cruisers too, I've always loved the look of the old eldo's I wish they would make a modern one. The market is super soft around here and I very much dislike ebay I might see if some one notices on carsoup or similar online posting site as craigslist is kind of a PITA. All the input has been really good and I've always been prone to make bad or snap decisions I sometimes regret(my house) and sometimes I don't (my Guzzi)
