  1. I just need something to ride I can get on the cheap I know it'll be a dog compared to my previous bikes and thats fine it'll get me through till I can get a griso or a super duke or tuono whatever comes up as the best deal when I'm ready, thing is I can get a decent KLR for around 2k all the other bikes I'm looking at are 8-10k so they have to wait. Be nice to have 2 bikes again and keep the KLR as a bad weather hack or just in case.
  2. umm, WOW, thats a lot cheaper than I expected. I REALLY like the first one I might have to talk to my credit union, probably won't happen right now but next fall I bet I could get one of these even less than the super dukes and sexier, still want to get a KLR seems like the rat bike to own. Shouldn't be a problem: http://motorcycle.jaxed.com/cgi-bin/mash.cgi?cat=mcy&fil=KLR+650&itm=kawasaki&state=&ps=&pe=&ys=&ye=&submit=+GO+ http://motorcycle.jaxed.com/cgi-bin/mash.cgi?cat=mcy&fil=Griso&itm=moto+guzzi&state=&ps=&pe=&ys=&ye=&submit=+GO+ Steve oh Awesome thanks, nice thing about a KLR is they're dirt cheap and totally worth keeping incase your main bike is in the shop or maybe just not nice enough out to take for a ride. I will have a bike again come spring!!!

  4. AVOID all of highway 81 right now they're doing tons of construction on it from hwy 100 to 169 and its a mess, wasn't a safe road in the first place I have no replacement nor can afford a respectable replacement either after owing a $1,000 on top of the payout, its heart breaking for me but I've got a half decent plan I'll be getting a used KLR650 with tax money looking to spend no more than 2k for a 5 year old-ish hopefully black or green KLR to get me through till I can get a Super Duke or a Tuono and it will be one of those two bikes unless a griso falls in my lap for a great price in 2012 who knows things could change and I could get a real bike by the end of next summer or mid summer but before the snow melts I'll have a KLR and F*** me the weather is driving me insane I wish it would snow so I can feel better about not having a bike, a decade with a motorcycle and now almost a month without.
  5. Well try to look on the bright side of things. You'll have all winter to save your money and decide what kind of bike to buy in the Spring! You wouldnt want to do anything rash like run to your nearest dealer and pick up the first Super Duke on the lot now would ya? YES I WOULD
  6. welp, can't get anything till about taxes time, just got the money they'll give me at 7800 and I owe 9000 so that makes me 1200 negative and in no way can afford to get another bike on top of that before the snow hits anyway, bikes won't be going anywhere I'll just try to get one early before the thaw I guess and I bet you can tell how thrilled I am about all this.
  7. I DONT KNOW, I can get a 08 zero miles Tuono in the color I want for $8500 in TX but they would have to ship it to me and I can get an 08 brand new super duke with zero miles for $8999 22 miles away so they are almost exactly the same price I DONT KNOW!!!! If it's down to the two, I'd take the super duke, just to try something different. thats how I feel as well and its local I think I'll go down and give them a shot and if not I can make a decent down payment when I get my taxes if I have to, they made it sound like they have more than one hold over from 2008 which is crazy to me for such a sweet bike. Great reviews comfy but would need that gel seat or one with a different profile it pushes me forward like the stock guzzi seat used to till I got me a maund seat. The aprilia does have an amazing seating position for me so I can't deny that plus I have 2 oil filters and a handful of tricky bits but I can easily sell them if I got a duke.

  9. here's a tricky bit, OK so I've tried calling my lien holder and I get to their credit department first, no record of me so they give me the number for loans and business which goes to another number which I call it and it says that the number is currently not in service, how crazy would it be for me to just take the insurance money and buy a new bike and keep paying on the loan? they can have said new bike as collateral against the loan but god damn it if I can't get ahold of someone over there I'm freak out, I know that geico will need the title, it'll be converted into a salvaged title some how I do not know how that works but GE money is really pissing me off. HA 7, SEVEN phone numbers later I figured it out, few were dead ends think I ended up speaking to someone in india, still would love it if I could just use the money to buy a new one straight up but the banks don't work that way. This buying and insuring things is quite the racket
  10. Thanks and OH I know, I will get there when I'm a wee bit older, still have some hooligan in me not to mention the GS is a tad out of my price range of the 8K area, 10k is being generous maybe too generous for me if I need to add anything plus taxes and fee's I can get a brand new or nearly super duke for that and its a great bike for around town and medium to short rides same for the tuono I'm looking at 07-08 bikes low miles and a GS in the same area is about 12k. I think my bike AFTER this bike I buy in 4-5 years from now will be something in the GS/stelvio/Versys/ktmadv category. alternately if a Griso fell in my lap for similar money I'd be interested the worst part so far is all the great weather we've been having, I haven't been without a bike in 10 years and its driving me crazy, a motorcycle is like my escape, my therapy and my steed for lack of a better word I know I don't have it in the winter months but that way I enjoy it even more in the good times I still need a bike to stir my soul and enjoy looking at it the duke and tuono And griso do that for me I can get bags and a huge screen next time but something makes me think I wont then either
  11. All good feedback I need something thats a good all arounder that I'll mostly just ride to work, around town and occasional rides over 100mi and finally one ride of about 400-800mi once a year. I'm only going to have one bike so an all out touring bike would be too much a dedicated sport bike might not be enough although the RSVR was pretty damn solid I won't lie to ya. When I think about it I really did like that speed rush getting onto the freeway and knowing that if I had to I could get away from any situation with a little extra wrist(except when I need to back up this time) If I got another V11 it would be a lemans but the breva fits me better and was more comfy when I sat upon it.
  12. my sentiments on ducati: make mechanics out of the poor and poor out of the rich benelli can't even make it off its shop stand for pictures without puking its oil or throwing a gear. I like my almost trouble free aprilia and guzzi experiences.
  13. just got the repair estimate and see why they totaled it, 6k to fix it and who knows if that would really be everything I don't know if they checked the radiator well enough because I'm sure its cracked and that wasn't listed and it was smoking pretty good which isn't good either but might just be because it was on its side for 20 min.
  14. You guys are great, I've been on the edge of depression this last week as its been 75+ and sunny and the bike sat in my driveway mangled for 4 of those 6 days so far then leo's south(terrible dealer) deemed it totaled after looking at it for 3 seconds. I had full gear on when I got hit and the more I think the more I'm glad I was able to just jump out of the way. I do like the performance but sometimes a bike that is good at going slow can be great also I think the thing with the sport bikes is as long as its not too far forward I can keep my body up with my legs more I know when I had a cruiser I couldn't ride 100mi it was just my ass bouncing on the seat def need my legs under me. I might just get a Tuono because its the same position as the RSVR cheaper to buy easier to maintain but there are still no dealers for them here so that makes it hard, I'm not in a rush though I am looking to hopefully get something around mid-winter to really early spring only sooner if the right bike falls in my lap and I have the money ready. Thing about the aprilia is I can't believe I just did a 425mi each way trip a few weeks ago on her, I went from mpls to marquette MI in the yoopers. Only the 6th+ hour in the saddle non stop was near unbearable thats really good comfort no matter what bike you're talking about.

    bad news

sold my V11 almost 2 months ago and I'm an R-tard for that move totaled my RSVR last sunday I am now bikeless for the first time in a decade and I'll be 30 in a month went for a ride made it 2 blocks from my house they put in new temp lights for the construction and the turn arrow isn't quite facing the right direction nor does it have a shroud on it and I got distracted then noticed the turn arrow which I thought was mine its literally adjacent to my green lite on the right side, it wasn't my greeen and I got the bike ripped out from under me and spun into the next lane, forks and rim are bent, brakes are not functioning, damper exploded, tail got miffed, upper fairing trashed, sliders did their job though the side fairings are perfect but now I see antifreeze some how got splashed on the right hand side so that is cracked and when I restarted it the bike ran really rough then smoothed out but was smoking a lot the whole time I had it running sooooo shit is not good. I didn't get hurt save for a bruise on my right leg I had my feet down and was able to kind of let the bike go I almost made it back out of the intersection when I realized I was in the wrong as he hit on front half of the tire. I didn't get a ticket and the police officer noted the lights are all messed up and was just glad I was ok. pissing me off I changed the oil the day before with weight in gold Agip, lubed the chain and I got the tires 2 months ago with 1k on them so far. At least I'm not hurt I've heard it a lot but I can't stop thinking about the bike F me, in my mind I'd almost rather I'd gotten hurt and not the bike, I know that doesn't make sense but she is my baby. To go with that if it does get totaled I have red drings, red frame plugs, a fancy 1/4 turn billet fuel cap, red mpl clutch slave, rhinomoto axle sliders and bar end sliders(one just needs a new plastic end) maybe I can get my gilles chain adjusters off it also oh and I still have my af1 linkage plates I never installed. will have to unload all that stuff to take the sting out of my deductible of 1k. My RSVR which I loved like a 4th child is totaled now comes the even harder part, what do I do? do I try and get a replacement 07.5+ RSVR, should I get a tuono either octoberfest flag colors or white/silver Should I look for a gen1 milleR(love that bike) or branch way out and get a KTM super duke or SMT(don't think I can afford that one at this time) or a BMW 1200C or a Victory V92C or a harley street bob, or a honda valkyrie, or a bmw 1150rt or a 1200gs, or possibly a Guzzi breva or griso(miss my V11 a lot now that I sold 2 months ago) the problem is I bet I won't be able to afford anything over 10k at this time and I like and would like to own any on of those bikes I have motorcycle ADD and the RSVR fulfilled all my riding pleasures but I'll be turning 30 next month and my career is tied to my commerical license so I always said I won't be getting another full on sport bike again but that RSVR was just so good in every way but KTM calls to me, BMW has many upsides, victory and harley make sense for getting on in years and needing to avoid speeding tickets the valkyrie is just a bad ass hooligan cruiser does anyone have any ideas, pros or cons or a bike if you could would like to jump on, I know I know I'd love a MV Agusta I'm not going to lie but the type of riding I do it would melt my legs off and just be a PITA to own. I also feel Ducati makes mechanics out of the poor and poor out of the rich so that is right out. I'm 6'2" 210lbs so keep in mind I might need some leg room and I hate heat blast generally drive like an old man but still like to roll on for a blast when the roads are right. My front runners are a griso, tuono and the super duke. Problem is guzzi and tuono don't have any dealers in my area at all KTM has one and they're pretty good and another in mankato next to a guzzi dealer but thats almost 2 hours away Ideally I'd like a KTM SMT but its brand new this year and 12k probably out of my price range now I know thats what I paid for my RSVR but that was 3 years ago I was doing better with less bills then.
  16. They sound like a V8 Muscle car, if you can't find them try FBF, fast by ferraci they are almost identical clones.
  17. THERE is no way those are real, and I do not care.
  18. I don't see the problem they have DOT CVI's commercial vehicle inspectors that only pull over trucks and actually they'll pull anyone over sometimes. I don't see this as an issue as most of you will as I drive trucks and have had to live with this for many o years. I can actually be pulled over for no reason at all, no reason needed. So until it gets that bad for cars and motorcycles, suck on it? Most if not all states and the federal government treat driving anything as a privilege not a right so they have little problem in completely restricting, controlling, or being j wads over the dumbest things because you always have the RIGHT to walk
  19. I hope you have all looked at this site, IT IS LEGEN...DARY http://girlcameramirror.tumblr.com/page/1
  20. the lack of heat on me was part of what I loved so much about my guzzi, I may be leaning BMW as a cruiser option and hope they're the same way, man all these I4's and hyper bikes are just murder in the heat. I liked using the jugs to warm my hands in the cold too but I didn't like how it would ping in hot traffic filled days.
  21. we're already WAY over the average for lefties, average is 7% of the population something about Guzzi attracts lefties. God I hope Guzzi makes some nice bikes in the future I can buy or I might have to break down and re-buy a V11 of some type probably a lemans in the future to get my guzzi fix back on.

    Tire time

when I settle on what kind of sport cruiser to get be it a Guzzi or BMW I'm getting Pirelli Angles on them, for my RSVR I'm loving the BT016's much better than the metz but thats because they are 55 and not the dreaded 50. My guzzi had Pirelli scorpion syncs which were pretty damn good I must say in all conditions and before that dragon corsas which were ok but not great, turn in was better but all terrain grip was down those were more suited for a hyper bike. Pirelli's seem to go with Guzzi like stink on a pig
  23. yeah its why I'm really considering a 1150RT but this motus does look like it will be AWESOME, downside I can only guess is whats the price?
  24. are you looking to get or sell? hard to tell from your post.
