Dayton, Ohio International racetrack?

I recently got my MotorCyclist in the mail & on page 48 is a positive review of the new Griso. Roland Brown seems to like it well enough. Then later in the magazine on page 117 in the street savvy colomn is a very cool looking sunset photo of a Griso. I'm pretty sure that 90+ percent of the people reading that article will have no idea what kind of bike that is in the photo but us Guzzista can spot it a mile away.

MPH Bar Risers---what you already knew or suspected
richard100t replied to stormsedge's topic in 24/7 V11
Actually my original fairing has some road rash on it. Its not very noticeable, but I'd like a new one myself. Unfortunately a new carbon fairing is $400! If $400 sounds reasonable to you I'd suggest contacting one of our fine sponsors here at the top of your screen. -

I'm going to wait for someone to wreck one of those new Griso's with the 8valve motor in it. Anyone think that would fit in a v11? I mean the whole motor, not just parts of it.

Your Tenni has different clip ons than a rosso mandello so you're going to have a little different job mounting risers. I think you have longer lines & thus it "should" be easier. btw if all you v11 sport types want more comfort when riding check my thread about how I added a new windshield to my Rosso Mandello. The bike is so much more quiet & no wind buffeting my helmet so I can really hear that cool guzzi sound. -
Unfortunately the show is always held in Cleveland on the last weekend in January. I'm not sure if motorcycle parking is free or not lol because its usually way too cold to ride there to see the show. I'd rather drive anyway because in case I see a few things I like I can just put it in the car & go home. That & I really dont want to leave my bike unattended in that huge parking lot.

I always enjoy the Cycle World shows here in the U.S. They always have all the top apparal & accesories people there showing the new stuff & selling it for less than retail too. Of course, like in Britain, they gouge you for parking lol.

I'm curious to know who here has the highest mileage v11? Now that some of our bikes are approaching 8 or 9 years old there should be some seasoned road warriors out there. Maybe we should have some sort of contest to see who hits the 100k mile marker first. How about a marker in the avatar for certain mileage markers? My bike just turned the 24k mile mark recently so I'm not really in the running to win anything.

I'm guessing that he's trying to say that he's buying the first 1200 sport in Arizona. My local dealer has one too.

If were to have used the word "cleaned" instead of the word lubed in my post it may indeed have better described what I did to the starter. WD40 to me does seem like a mixture of kerosene & carburetor cleaner. I dont believe it provided any long term lubrication & the thing shouldnt need constant lube anyway. BUT it WAS in need of cleaning & thats what I gave it. Its been several thousand miles & countless starts since then & it still works fine.

I have taken my starter off & sprayed wd40 in on the gear & deeper inside. At one time it started making funny noises when I would start the bike. Ever since I lubed it, the thing hasnt made a peep.

Ok time to update. Today I made the brackets out of aircraft grade aluminum. The windshield fits the bike very well & the wind protection & comfort is great. It also really looks great. I have some sanding & painting to do to the brackets but other than that I'm happy with it. I'll post some pictures of the brackets in a few days. All I needed to do the job was a hacksaw, a vise, a power drill & a little duct tape. I wrapped the tape around the ends to prevent scratching the plastic. Oh & I also used pliers to twist the brackets into the right shape.

It sounds like your bike is running too lean to me. If you're sure the tps is set properly I'd make very sure the throttle bodies are balanced. Sometimes that locking nut on the balance rod can come loose after you adjust the tb's & then you have to do it all over again. Do you have pod filters or an aftermarket exhaust?

How about a green body with the red frame & the quattro 1200 motor in it?

I just bought a moto guzzi windscreen on ebay that looks like it came off a California model. Trouble is I need different mounting brackets to make it fit. If anyone has some experience with doing this any how to's would be very much appreciated. TIA the part # on the shield is 32577311

Theres going to be plenty of paint schemes to choose from. I want to know if it has the Quattro engine & what the performance numbers will be.

Per Ratchets post, my MG dealer doesnt do tires. The dealers near me that do change tires charge $25 to $30 per wheel even when you buy the tires from them. This is becoming unacceptable to me & I've been looking at the tire changing tools on ebay. I really have never changed a tire before but I'm pretty sure I can find someone to show me how. Does anyone have some advice on the best type of tire changer/balancer to buy for under $500? Back to the subject at hand I think its perfectly fine to not support your dealer & buy tires wherever you damn well please if you feel like your getting taken to the cleaners.

Ram aftermarket single plate clutch and flywheel kit
richard100t replied to stogieBill's topic in Technical Topics
Having a Rosso Mandello I can say that my clutch works very well & is easy on the hand too. For $800 I'd say thats not bad considering I havent heard of a single one breaking yet. -
I love what you've done with the bike! I think you should submit it to Jaap for Bike of the Month.
