    Tenni #003

Hi'ya Brian and welcome to the Tenni Registry!! You'll find that the V11 form is absolutly great and populated by some very interesting "characters", to say the least. As for your Tenni, I'm glad to find such a low number out there! It confirms what I thought, that the first batch of Tenni's where exported to the far east and down under. Seems you guys got them first. The Tenni's are quite remarkable as they are stunning example of the V11's and there are so few of them out there. They have ...touch wood.... been very reliable, I got mine with just over 1000 miles and now have over 9000 trouble free miles on her. I up-dated the relays, changed the transmission pawl spring and changed the clutch switch. I'm a fair weather rider for the most part but have gone on one good trip per year and find the Tenni to be a perfect long distance sport tourer, eating up distance with great ease. The only down side of Tenni ownership is the high level of jealousy that we get from some of the other groups, most noticably the Scurra riders. I'll up-date the registry as soon as I can Anyway, again welcome, and enjoy your great ride Cheers Van
  3. I'm very sorry that you pranged in the first place, but am totaly relived to hear that you got off as well as you did........a gardian angel for sure. Thank God you weren't hurt worse than you were and that you are on the path to a full recovery. After watching my son go through the agony of his broken ribs and scapula (he got hit from behind) I can empathise the pain you've been goin through. Also very lucky that you got first rate medical attention. Glad they still have some decent doctors still in S.A. and they haven't all emmigrated. Anyway Orson, glad that you're ok and getting better, keep us posted. Cheers Van
  4. Nice.......very different! clean looking to, are those fiam horns and if so how are they wired in? Cheers Van

    How is Orson?

I heard that Orson pranged and ended up in a South African hospital while touring down there. Has any body got any up-dates? How's he doing? I hope to God that he's OK . Was it a bad prang? Where did it happen? Is he still in S.A.? Anybody know?? There are only 170 Tenista at very best, so we have to look out for each other Cheers Van
  6. To all my friends out there, V11 owners all and of every stripe, I wish you all a Very Merry Christmas, ( happy Hanukkah, holiday season, Yule tide, etc.) and a Very Happy New Year full of great safe rides, roads and trips endless, lots of warm sunny days, and always with great finishes all the best my freinds, Cheers Van
  7. Orson! Here's hoping that you recover well and fully from your prang! I am even more aware of the good that positive energy can do than ever before. After my son's accident we got wonderful support from fellow riders from all over the world and found that it really helped to get their prayers, positive energy, good wishes, white light, cards etc. The whole Van Enter clan passes on their prayers and energy to you to get better and heal soon. From where you are it sounds that you were in the Cape when you pranged. There are some awesome roads and scenery in that part of the world. Are you going to stay in S.A. for a while or are you returning to Europe soon? (cards sent now will never get to the Cape in time if you are hopefully out of hospital by the end of Dec.)......by the way, thats a crap way to spend Christmas, and even worse as it's happened to a fellow V11 and Tenni owner. Please let us know how you are doing. Again, get better well, and soon Cheers Van
  8. Er, not to forget the most important thing out there! Cheers Van I mean, if you are going to highjack something at least make it worthy
  9. So, you didn't think that you could get away with the "more fun than Tenni's" did ya?? You bunch of pretty boys, with your pretty coloured bikes, humph!! So what V11 is in the museum? a Scura? No! a Rosso Corsa? No! a Tenni ?........................YES!!! and what V11 laped the Isle of Man? a Tenni !........................YES!!! and what V11 do the coolest dudes ride? a Tenni !........ ....YES!!!! and which group of V11 owners got their s@#t together first and got "their"registry going first?? THE TENNISTA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All joking aside, glad you and the Scura and the other limited run V11 varients are making registries up, with bikes like ours that are so rare to begin with it's a good idea to keep track of them and this form is the best thanks to Jaap Cheers Van
  10. Hey, lets not forget that as a really good friend you HAVE to rotate the tires , I mean otherwise they'll flat spot, and then start to leak and the rubber will deteriate and then your friend will have to get new tires and that would be terrible.......and we all know that nothing is better for our tires than a brisk ride down a twisty country lane....right??? One of my buddies has one just like it, nice bike but............hey, I had a beemer for years before the Tenni great bikes, can be fun, but don't have the soul or sound of our V11's Cheers Van

    griso tenni

Doomed? I'd say not, it seems that everytime we get a Tenni green bike on the form everyone goes crazy about it!!! (rightly so) Must be something about Tenni and green and Moto Guzzi that just seems to fit together and be "right"!! Although give them their due, that modified Grisso by Firestarter looks bitch'n good, even if it is black And ya, as Jim says, with Guzzi thats where we owners come in, a little mod here, a gentle fix there, and ......perfection!! At the Guzzi Nat's in Malibu there were lots of bikes, but the only ones that looked the same (stock) were the Norges, most all the others had been "massaged" Cheers Van
  12. Hi Guys, I spoke to my son tonight and one of the things he was really stoked about was that he got a card from Rower307. The card had pictures of a smashed bike and real words of encouragement from one who has been there and made a full recovery from a similar accident 35 years ago!! Tom was really excited as he has set a goal of trying to be able to stand (with help) and support his weight on his one good leg, and with a lot of determination, and hard work maybe take a step tomorrow. Toms gotten cards from Jaap, Garstad and Rower307 and can't believe that he's getting prayers, and wishes of recovery from guys he's never met and who's only link to him is that they ride the same bike as his dad. I've said this before and I'll say it again, thank you all who've sent your wishes to Tom, you guys make me proud to be Guzzi rider. You're a classy lot Van
  13. Ha.ha.ha.ha..... Ya made me laugh Jaap, yeh, I think you're right Cheers Van
  14. Hi all fellow Guzista from California, I really hate to use this site for this but I'm against a wall of sorts. I need a really good motorcycle lawyer in California to fight for my son who can't yet fight for himself. As some of you will remember, my son Tom was critically injured when he was hit by a large SUV on Hwy 33 north of Ojai as we were on our way home from the Natl's in Malibu last June. Tom, by a miracle survived the horific accident, and after a long and very painful battle for his health, has now been moved to a rehabilitation hospital here in Vancouver where he continues making an absolutly astounding recovery. Tom still has a very long and hard road ahead but we are all very positive as to his long term recovery. Anyone out there who's had the mis-fortune of needing a good lawyer and can recomend one???? Thanks guys, and again, thank you to all the classy guys who replied to my orriginal posts and sent us your good wishes. They were allot of comfort as we where going through hell. Cheers Van
  15. Thanks Karl !! nice to see that Ombono is honered as he should be!! Say, you didn't just happen to see the # of that Tenni did you?? Cheers Van
  16. To all you who have responded, a genuine and very heart felt THANK YOU. Especially good to hear stories of personal tragedy and injuries that turned around and that you came back from those horific accidents, and injuries, and are now back in the saddle, riding your Guzzi's and enjoying life as it should be! It gives me great hope that my son's injuries won't be permanent, and that he to will one day be able to bounce back (today he was able to wiggle the toes of his left foot for the first time which is HUGE)!!! I also believe that the amount of prayer, white light, positive energy, good vibes and thoughts, that has been sent our way has been a very real part of Toms healing. The fact that this form is here and populated by some really nice people has been a Godsend to me, as it's allowed me to escape every now and then and to go back to the thing that we both shared, loved doing and got so much pleasure from. Speaking of this form, Jaap, you are a very classy guy, thank you, Tom got the card and it is right at his bed side. He thought it was great that someone he didn't even know would send him a get well card, (and one with Ombonono Tenni at the Isle of Man on it.) Thank you all Van
  17. Hey'a Slug, get the Michlins. Used them on the trip to the Nat'l.......great tire! Cheers Van

    how many v11?

Well what a strange world we live in, especially the world of Italian bike manufacturers, Harley now own M.V.Augusta............My poor brother just about had a fit when he found out (he's the owner of a M.V. 910 Brutale....Stars Wars type rocket ship) The only thing I really know about the numbers of V 11's produced is that there were 170 Tenni's made, of which we have about 1/3 here on this site. Cheers Van
  19. That's a great idea. thanks. 1. Tom Van Enter Rm. 7410A Vancouver General Hospital 899 12th Avenue West Vancouver B.C. V5Z-1M9 Canada 2. Tom Van Enter Apt. 108 2424 Cypress st. Vancouver B.C. V6J-1T6 Canada You know, this is one of the things that drew me into motorcycling all those years ago, not only the whole riding thing but the people. Honda said it in the sixties,"you meet the nicest people on a Honda". I have always found that I have meet some of the nicest people through this sport and you guys are the best. I really don't want to bring you all down with this sombre news about my son as this site should be all about love, life, and the shared joys and tribulations of our wonderful bikes. I do thank you all for your warm responces. p.s. anyone know or had experience with a really good California Motorcycle type lawyer?? Van
  20. Thanks everyone for your kind words, they are appreciated. Van
  21. Hi all!! I have fallen off the face of the planet since before the Guzzi Nat'l in June and just wanted to check back in and make contact with all you guys out there. My son Tom my brother Mike and I had hooked up in San Fransisco and through one fiasco (like having way too much fun, fires etc) after another, got to the Guzzi Nat'l Rally just in time to witness the last event. We even missed the track day on friday (again having too much fun, this time in Venice Beach with Jeddi 1 and friend) and were on our way back to Canada (Sat. the 28th June ) going up the canyon on hwy 33 north of Ojai when Tom got hit by a Suburban that had cut the corner on one of the hairpins. I will spare the details but must thank Arai, Joe Rocket and all the emergency crew, helicopter air ambulance and mostly the Dr.'s and nurses at Ventura County Med. Centre for saving my son. After 3 weeks in ICU Tom was stable enough to be air lifted back to Vancouver General Hospital where his recovery is continuing to be nothing short of a miracle. Long term is still unknown as his injuries are so severe, but given time and all the love and care we can give him we hope to see him make a full recovery one day. I have been thinking of writting this for a long time now and haven't been able to bring myself to it until now, I really just wanted to say hi to my friends on the site and to remind you all that we all have loved ones out there, so be aware of them, give your wives and especially your kids that extra degree of love and attention that they deserve because the future can change so drastically in only 1 and a half seconds.. sigh, now I'm starting to sound maudlin and I really don't mean to. If you believe in prayer, meditation, white light, good vibes, or whatever positive, spare a thought to my son Tom and send him some of those good thoughts. I've learned that they do seem to have an amazing efect. Thanks for listening Van
  22. Hi Al, Really sorry I missed you at the rally. We got held up in S.F. by having way too much fun, then pushed off route by the fires closing down Hwy 1, and ended getting to Malibu just in time to set up our tents and watch the end of the auction on the last day!! So, we came all that way and missed the whole darn thing just about. Next day we wandered down to Venice Beach and while minding our own business bumped into "jedi 1" and his buddy at a bar.........safe to say we didn't make track day on friday either.... a real pitty as l've been looking forward to meeting up with as many of the V11 gang as l could and to blasting 'round a track. Saturday started really well with a trip to the Rock Store and then to Ojai on hwy's 23 and 150. We were then on our way to Sequoia on hwy 33 going up the canyon when Tom my son was hit by a guy in a Suburban who had crossed the line on one of those hairpins. It's been an absolute nightmare but after 3 weeks in the Ventura ICU he was airlifted to Vancouver and the trauma ward here. Recovery has been amazing but he will have a long way to go yet before he'll be up and about. Cheers Van
  23. It's an OSSA !!! 250 cc 1976 .......Right??... Cheers Van
