  1. ALWAYS disconnect the neg. connection first and reconnect it last. Just remember that a short can still be made by a tool (wrench or screwdriver, etc.) touching the positive and any metal component within range.
  2. OK Count me in too for both pieces. "Scura Girl" is due for some updates this winter so I'll include those as well.
  3. Is this what you had in mind? http://www.megola.de/eng/engindex.html

    MG Resal Value

Damn, damn, damn. I've done it again! Just when I thought I had it licked it starts all over again.....When will I learn!! It usually starts out with casual conversation and somewhere along the way someone in the group makes a statement that I think is arrogant. So I think to myself "who IS this jerk?" As with many things, wisdom comes over time and what I have learned is that there are others in the world that are here to guide us with their wisdom. They are "the superior beings", I see it now. I am not worthy. Forgive me lord, for I have sinned.

    MG Resal Value

Lighten up goozer! They are all V11,s To philbo, sorry about the mess. Stick with Kelly Blue Book as NADA will show a much higher value. This "bastard's" Scura was listed as approx. $9000 retail last Feb. which I know was way too high. Most V11's drop quickly to the $5000 range, give or take a few. Stay strong.
  9. OK guys, I've been following this thread very closely. Servicing my suspension is one of the items I have listed to do this off season. I now know that I have to replace my springs, front and rear. I weigh 230# and my MG has 17,000 plus miles and want to go through everything to improve handling and to make sure everything is up to snuff. Couple of questions for you all. 1. Are the Ohlins much more difficult to service than the others. My guess, yes. 2. Is it important to stick with Ohlins springs or are there other mfg. who make springs to fit ? 3. I have never serviced cartridge forks before so should I just send it all to an Ohlins service center or would someone else, like Traxxion be able to handle it?
  10. Yes, thats it!!! If a Scura could fly it would be an Apache!
  11. Scuras are part of THE DARK SIDE. Confronted by groups of 3 or more even the mighty Republican party forces have been known to tremble in their presence. You have been warned! http://www.imdb.com/gallery/mptv/1360/Mptv...ath_key=0076759
  12. I guess it is OK for the thread to "wander" a bit.
  13. You know, it's not nice to steal someone elses thread.
  14. Nay, Nay. No handlebars as yet. My best guess based on the last message from Jean-Marc is that they could arrive this week. I asked him to send them to my work place so I could play with them until I get home. This might not have been a good idea as we get deliveries from USPS, DHL, UPS and Fed X. every day. I'm like a kid at Christmas. "ARE THEY HERE YET ? ARE THEY HERE YET ?" My parts guy keeps JOKING that "I got ripped off" but I know better and just have to wait it out. I'm sure they will be worth it.
  15. WELL DONE !! She really is a beauty, does my heart good to see something so clean and elegant!
  16. Saw this one on Two Wheel Tuesday. Was on a woman at a track day for women. "DOES THIS BIKE MAKE MY BUTT LOOK FAST" Love it !!!!!!

    Memories of yoof

Gladly joining this Old Fart thread. I was bitten by the 2 stroke craze with a friend's purchase of a 69 Kawa H1, found myself on a new 73' 2 years later. Within 2 more years and 2 accidents later (not too serious, one from demon alcohol and the other from a pick up truck) she was ready for some serious mod's. Thomaselli clip-ons, Koni shocks, home made rear sets, sweet chambers and fresh paint I was ready to eat more Triumphs, HD's and Nortons. Just had to be V E R Y Smoooooooth. Those Yammy's were another story all together!
  20. I've never been able to do anything about the hair but the worst part has been finding a helmet that will fit over the ears.
  21. There is a place in Arizona that does "streetfighter" fairings. Lots of them are really weird but there are a couple that might work. Please don't hold it against me...Just do a search for "Wild hair accessories"
  22. This is not my boyfriends bike!

    V11 Quota

Well.... not a MG but a friend of mine has a KTM 950 Adventurer, rode it from Montana to New Hampshire. (Approx. 3250KM for you metric guys) he loves that thing. Has hard panners which seem to hold a ton, gets good range, is reasonably comfortable and (he says) a ball to ride! Bring your long legs as with all dual sports, Let's not forget that Veeee thump! I just have a hard time with all that orange!
  24. Interesting to see some "alternative" expressions of design. But it looks like something out of the TERMINATOR movies with that beak of a fairing. Think it can take on other shapes as well? Sorry, just my 2 cents as well.
  25. I can hear the champagne corks a-popping !!! She really is a beauty. Congrats. I see many miles ahead.
