  1. Wow, that's almost what- 9 grand US? That seems a bit high

    Tenni equipment

FWIW, I have the Sachs rear, CF Dash, dry clutch and bad rectifier. (#128)
  4. Whoa- I'd better hide my checkbook! Anyone know what the cost will be?
  5. Rain and bugs keep me in a full face. Otherwise, I agree Nogbad. If you crash, it's going to hurt. So I'll assume the worst and hope it keeps me on top of things as much as possible. Crashing sucks.
  6. Fake, maybe; but as the saying goes... Well, I can't think of a good saying right at the moment, but hell, I'll take her anyways! -Someone once said, "there's only two ways to argue with a woman, and neither of them works"
  7. Bigger, louder, faster- that's the whole point here, isn't people?
  8. Congratulations on the purchase! Sounds like you have good taste (I have #128;) How's that airbox conversion working out for you? I haven't decided if I want to go that route or not yet. Anyways, welcome. Van will be glad to have found another Tenni to be sure.
  9. Let's not forget the all-important "fluuurp" sound you get with the K&N. Stickers+added noise=free horspower. Duh. The logic is there, people... We found that out waaay back. Proof: Remember when Chrysler slapped that neat Turbo sticker on the side of a Dodge Omni? It hauled ass as a result!
  10. Wasn't too bad- didn't get out of first much, to be sure, but I was better off than those Harley guys working that heavy clutch all the time. Then there was all the Harleys that overheated (lots) and broke down (quite a few) or trailered the bikes in(less than I expected, but still passed a LOT on the highway) or quit early (again quite a few). Overall, a great ride and I will admit that everyone was very cool, and I got lots of thumbs up from the guys that know a good air-cooled, pushrod V-twin when they see one.
  11. Well, this weekend I did the annual Toys for Tots charity ride in Reno. 70 miles there, the ride (3+ hours, 2K bikes) and then the 70 miles back. Burrrrr. Damn kids better like all the toys! Good time, though.
  12. Jeez-what the hell did he hit??? Well, it probably didn't hurt much or, at least, for very long.
  13. That clutch rattle was what I loved about my Ducatis. Still love it on the Goose. The more racket the better!!
  14. You can't push start autos. And they have to run well enough so that when you put it in Drive, the motor won't quit. A lot of my vehicles would have been severly limited by these two alone . And I am a firm believer that a stick, requiring more interaction with the vehicle, keeps more attention of the driver on driving and less on cell phones, loud music, road signs, make up, and whatever the hell else so many people do in cars besides drive and look out for me (us) on bikes. As for the clutch on my bike, I don't use it hardly at all after the 1-2 upshift, for normal riding (the lower RPM's are easy enough to match smoothly). But for harder pulls of the throttle, I'll dip it in an inch or so. Downshifts I'll clutch I guess, too. FWIW, anyway.
  15. There's quite a bit of good riding here, actually. (I have been surprised) But yes, there is a lot of flat, open (and pretty much police-free) road as well. It's pretty diverse-Tahoe to the west, Virginia City southwest, Lee Vining, Mono Lake... and a LOT of great little bars and restaraunts in between.
  16. ...Looks like the number plate is missing altogether, but hey- it's not in too bad a shape all things considered.
  17. Beautiful bike! I was looking at the same before I found my LeMans. Anyhow- I'm about 4 hours from the Bay Area- Up for any ride that comes up, just let me know
  18. ...I'm not gonna lie- I realllly want a Buell. Just have to wait till the ex's car is paid of...
  19. Boy, this Big Wheel "revolution" had us excited for weeks at work. If I could find three or four guys willing to drop $250 for a full size Green Machine...
  20. Jim Fueling, if memory serves, built that W3 for awhile-HP was up around 150 I think.
  21. Well, about six hours by car (4 by tenni?) but it's a straight shot; only two whore houses, a couple of gas stations, a LOT of rock shops(I don't know- this particular bit of Nevada culture evades me) and an Army weapons depot and you're there! As for the tail rack, I'm not sure to be honest-the top box that attaches to it is an Aprilia unit, so that would be my guess- PO had it on there when I got the bike. I do know that it's pretty friggin heavy, though! (pulled it off for some electrical work).
  22. What's a vacation if not a great story in the end. Least you made the ferry!

    Paint color

Here it is- I use it on the pipes (carbon fiber) as well as everywhere else- works well enough for me.
  24. Decent looking bike, I think- too much Multistrada in the fairing, though. (At least in that picture). By the by, I had a SECA 650 also- '85 I think, though. I had a hell of a time on it-that thing was way faster than it needed to be, with the suspension and brakes it had(or didn't have, rather). Ass end sure liked to kick out in corners though!
