  1. First off, us helo guys have nothing to do with the fixed wing side of things. Second, no- I'm not a wheelee sort of guy, with the exception of the errant Harley guy talking s@*t. Every once in a while, it has to be done. Third, a helo pilot is the kind of guy that starts of most stories with "no s#$t, there we were". Now, mostly, I was there and it wasn't that bad. But when the crewchief has to "straighten things out" so to speak, it gets interesting. Ladies and gentlemen, that is what I get paid for. College degree to break 'em, high school diploma to fix 'em. P.S...I love this job!!!
  2. Hey it may have been dumb, but those expansion joints are killer! Besides, in my own defense, I didn't follow through. I just started to.
  3. No matter how much it tempts you, trying to adjust your suspension on the 405 while trying to get out of L.A. at 70 mph is never, ever a good idea.

    Paint color

Heavy lift crewchief/loadmaster on that pig, before I transferred here. Now it's Hueys, Search and Rescue stuff in the mountains. As for the bike, I've got this aerosol stuff that removes dead bugs, cleans and applies a (light) wax type finish, almost like a furniture polish. I use it on everything, and I keep it in the saddle bags with a soft chamois(sp??). I'll take a look and see what it's called when I get home tonight.

    MG Resal Value

I had to (fortunately) wait till the "domestic" storm had passed (read: moved to her mothers) until I could get a Guzzi in the first place. Hopefully everything works out- no fun at all to be sure.

Yep, flew as flight engineer for about 4 years in Sicily. That one is actually an MH-53E.

    Paint color

Has anybody had to mix up any of this "tenni green" paint? Got a little scrape to fix, and wouldn't mind one of those nifty chin spoilers either...might as well do it all together! Anyways, wondering what to do about getting the color mixed up.

S'pose I had that coming But the helo is gray. Truth is I just figured out how to shrink pics down!

    MG Resal Value

Awww, they all look pretty similar from the top looking down (My bike's still my favorite)
  10. That looks expensive...I used to have brakes like that on an old go cart I had, but mine was more a 2x4 with nails, not Vance&Hines!

And with that, our hero leaves, head hung low. A sad day indeed, friends.
  12. I too, am curious about the circumstances involving the roundabout. We're all friends here

    ....160 Tenni's produced=exclusive. Puriud.
  14. Yeah, but you wouldn't believe how technologically advanced the Guzzis are around here!!
  15. 1630 here in Nevada- can't believe how long ago this thread started...
  16. I don't know...Just checked out the new Buell Ulysses (sp?) -It was a hell of a nice bike...for any manufacturer.
  17. I know I'll get howled down here for saying it but I always found the V11 series felt incomplete...
  18. So far, I've had a battery light that kept coming on (bad grounds, relays), a nuetral light that stays on, and the right fork has a little of the gold starting to rub off. Other than that, no problems to speak of. Oh, and the engine case paint is bubbling. Nothing mechanical so far, but I'll probably start preventitive type fixes this winter to be safe.
  19. Well, I got mine with 10,000 on the clock, and have put on another 3800 or so since I got it in September. I'm pretty sure PO didn't have any problems, as he didn't mention it during the passdown, so I'm gonna say "no", mine hasn't failed (yet??) but I'll probably pull it this winter and check the measurement. It's possible that this run of 160-ish bikes wasn't affected-wouldn't that be nice?!?
  20. If memory serves, the factory is near or on Lake Como, which is around Bellagio, near Milan, 3 hours from Switzerland, etc, etc... So, YES! That part of Italy is excellent touring! Let me know if you need a riding buddy!
  21. Wow- talk about conflicting interests...I'm not entirely sure what part of the picture is more mouth watering! (Well OK, I'm kinda sure)
  22. If it's any comfort, I have the opposite problem, where the light stays on. Was very annoying at night, until I discovered a hi-tech fix utilizing electrical tape and an exact-o knife. Just
  23. Gotcha. Yeah I was pretty much impressed with them. Lot of nice bikes to lust after in the showroom, also.
  24. Yeah, a lot of stuff shuts down in that time frame, but still in a big city like Catania lots stays open. There is a Ducati/Guzzi dealer in downtown Catania, near Bellinni Park/Via Etnea area. I can't remember street names now, but it is next to the big Jaguar dealer. Then I believe, up the road in Aci Reale there is another one, but that may have been Harley/Buell only. Misterbianco might have one as well. Anyway, I'm jealous. Enjoy the food, the best Italian is in Sicily IMHO!
